We all know the skullduggery that happens with foreign coaches in Pakistan. Have seen enough examples of that in recent times so one does wonder if Hesson has checked his contract thoroughly!

I am sure after the Kirsten, Gillespie Fiasco, he has gone into this having covered all his basis. There is no way he would have accepted the role without selection powers. The PCB in return would have demanded that he spent the bulk of his time in Pakistan even during the off season working at the academies, at the NCA and with the U19, A teams but in return for this the PCB has to reward him handsomely.

I think he has done his research and is probably familiar with the multi-verse of Pakistan cricket through the PSL, in hindsight he was the only possible foreign coach they could have hired by some miracle and hopefully he can work with freedom or at least has a view on how to deal with some of our constraints.

I don't think he is that dumb. I'm sure he has asked for some guarantees. Thing is, PCB is not a rational organization. They will happily fight ex-employees they wronged, rather than just admitting that they were wrong.

They are already the laughing stock of the cricketing world for their treatment of captains, coaches and selectors. The best you can hope is that they care about whatever shred of dignity they have left.

Im calling november. He will be leaving in november

he set out 3 conditions before signing apparently

The first was he wanted his own coaching staff (the one he has at IU).

The second was he wanted clear job security even with the sudden changes of Pak chairman changes. The contract had to be ironclad

I am not sure what the 3rd condition was but it was in relation to the amount of time he gets to spend at home. This is unclear.

Am reading that Misbah is a hot contender for the test head coach role. The guy atleast understood subcontinent conditions and the squad to pick. Look at the pitches we prepared against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and South Africa in 2019-2021 when he was our head coach, fair balanced pitches with enough help for seamers, spinners and batsmen.
