What's new

Did hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 justify an $85 Million loss?

They need to make the existing stadiums 2 tier and build a new stadium in Islamabad. Then bid to co-host a T20 world cup.

India plays in Pakistan. Pakistan plays in India. Life goes on.
Pakistan will only co host with UAE where India plays all its' matches.

Dreams are being dreamt by Pakistanis.

Reality is different.

Pak came in both 16 and 23.

Ind didn't in 23 and 25.
Yeah we hoped for good gesture but you don't deserve it

So moving forward no more cricket in India for us

Sure thing already getting excited at prospect of dragging your team to Colombo
Won't blame you though. Recent past has been pretty damning for you lot. Let's see if the future is atleast a tad bit more kinder.

Don't worry good time is coming

One of the first will be drag your team to SL

I've already replied to this in detail before. You can read it in my previous posts here.

There are multiple ways this can be recouped including an increase in per-game revenue through more footfalls. This includes for both PSL and international matches.

How will footfall increase? Has the stadium capacity gone up?If yes, by how much?

Via the improved in-stadium experience for fans (better seats, no more cage, better floodlights).

Were they selling out every home game before? No they were not.

You bring in even one more person per PSL or home game than before, you have increased footfalls.

Attendance wasn't great during CT.

What Cage?

Have you watched a cricket match in the subcontinent? You think better flood lights will bring more spectators?

Not much data to work with, they had one home ODI game and it was full by the evening. Neutral games are meaningless to this discussion.

By cage I mean the steel fence they had in front of the seats before. It's gone now making it easier for fans to see the action and this has been mentioned as a plus by fans that have gone to the stadium.

All of these improvements as a combination have led to a better in-stadium experience.
