Pakistan are being criticised for a petty move, whilst others are arguing that they will face a heavy fine for not following ICC rules.

The speculation will come to an end tomorrow when the shirt is revealed. However, if true, I do not understand how Indians can complain of ‘pettiness’ considering how they have cost Pakistan approximately $1B+ in loss of revenue in the past decade due to mixing sports with politics.

Also, is it ICC’s domain to interfere between nations who are living through a war/Cold War? Can the ICC impose the name of India on Pakistan’s jersey if the two nations are on the brink of nuclear war?

In ICC Tournaments you have to follow ICC rules with regards to kit. You cannot have sponsor name on the stomach area, only the team name and tournament logo on the top.

The Indian cap thingy happened in a series agaisnt Australia. In series you dont have to abide to kit rules that much. Your sponsor can be on your chest, you can wear any kit you want but should be uniform. Thus, even SA wears pink as a team.

And the logo of the host, its a basic rule that every cricket fans knows..

I’m afraid it’s a massive deal if you are Indian. This is not 2004 when things were very friendly and brotherly between the two nations. The two countries and their relationship has hit rock bottom since 2009 and when Modi took over and radicalised India to a whole new level.
