Did Shahid Afridi make a mistake by resigning from T20I captaincy?

Seeing the way Misbah is milking old man SHK with his old performances I'm sure Boom Boom would have had a stronger case than Misbah as he is in super form.

But when he resigned from the captaincy he hasn't been selected. Looks like Misbah has been 'clever' operator as he left the decision of 'captain or not' to the PCB while Afridi made a decision without leaving to PCB. Was it a tactical blunder or an honest mistake or good sensible decision? Do you think the way things are going with Misbah and PCB, Afridi could have used it for his advantage and continue his run in the T20Is?

He did the right thing (finally)

Its good he is gone.

However he shouldn't get credit for not causing a civil war like Younis would or clinging on like Misbah is, we should expect this behaviour from our so called 'senior's.

Afridi wanted to retire on a high. Afridi had great PSL tournament, so thinks he wants to leave it then when he's doing well. Afridi only plays one format in T20s and is pretty hard to see him at the next world T20 world cup. So think that's all it was.

Had we done well last world cup, Afridi would have retired then and there. He's retired in the PSL (even if he plays future PSLs) from international cricket when people remember him fondly, rather than straight out from a failed T20 cup.

It's the same thing with Misbah. Had Pak done well against Aus, misbah would have retired then and there. Because he didn't, he wants to go out on a high against WI. YK I think wanted to end his ODI with the world cup too. And the reason why YK retired from t20s after winning the t20 world cup, again wanted to go out on a high.

It's an obsession by many cricketers, after all you remember your last game.
