On a flat wicket where the ball isn't doing much the Australians already have a plan B and C where they have packed the leg side field to dry up the singles and given the bowlers the full license to attack the stumps. They have also employed a leg slip should one ball kick up. The Aussie team management is already ten steps ahead of the Pakistani think tank

Lyon is already looking effective and efficient by bowling to the right handers around the wicket where he has successfully dried up the runs resulting in the wickets of Masood and Shafiq

Contrast this to Misbah and Waqar where the Pakistani bowlers just did the same thing again and again with zero creativity in the bowling line, lengths, field placings to try and create something.

This is more about Tim Paine having a brain as opposed to Azhar Ali not having one

The difference is selection.

Shaun Marsh is in brilliant form and Usman Khawaja has a terrific record.

But Australia won’t pick either because Paine is already in that 32+ age bracket and they don’t want to have too many older players.

Maybe also about Aussie bowlers knowing what to do and knowing their own and the batsmen's strengths and weaknesses. Our bowlers just seem outright clueless, waiting for the batsmen to make a mental error and get out themselves.

True but Misbah ul Haq and Waqar Younis are being paid big bucks, they cannot play but surely they have access to TV, commentary, replays and can send a message to the captain. But then again that requires a brain as well.

Sadly one of the major reasons why we lack behind the rest of the world is the absence of brain, thinking on your feet from our players, captain and team management

Our bowlers especially Pacers lack expierence even Abbas has only played 14 games in this case a bowling coach with 800 wickets at top level surely needs to do some thinking for them this is why he is hired don't you think ?

Realistically speaking I don't think we have a plan A never mind Plan B and Plan C. Our set up is like gali mohallah we are only out there to bowl and bat.

Nathan Lyons around the wicket tactics to the right hander and the field placements are just masterful especially considering this is a flat slow pitch. He is bringing the lbw, the bat pad, leg slip into the equation and men strategically on the boundary in the right positions knowing the angles and hitting zones the Pakistani batsmen will opt for should they try to hit out of trouble. End result is ruthless non stop pressure and the one eventual delivery which has the batsmans name on it.

Similarly for the pacers they have stacked the leg side with fielders stopping the singles, mid on, mid off up encouraging the bowlers to bowl straight. Beautifully balancing of attack with defence. This is what a professional team management does

Someone remind me what are Misbah and Waqar being paid Rs 3.2 million and Rs 2 million a month respectively for?
