This series was a great chance to play youngsters and rest some senior players.

We need to prevent the likes of Mohammad Amir, Hasan Ali from injuring themselves, especially the former has been struggling recently. On top of that, it was a great chance to try out some youngsters such as Sahibzada Farhan. With all due respect to Scotland, they're not as good as some of the other teams we normally play in T20's, would be a perfect chance to give chances to some fringe players but our selectors go and name a full strength squad.:facepalm:

Amir and Hasan should have been rested. I'm also hopeful of a day when I wake up and don't see Ahmed Shehzad's name in a Pakistan squad.

Agreed.

Shadab,Sarfraz,Amir and Hassan should have been rested.Shehzad shouldn’t have been picked.

We could have tried Umair Masood or even Rizwan as a keeper.

They’re saving money.

My guess is they wanted to retain maximum players from the test squad out of convenience since it's only two T20s

But that still doesn't explain the inclusion of Shehzad

Don't Amir and Hasan have the gall to tell captain and coach that they are not up to 100% fitness and would like to sit out the useless Scotland T20s. I'm sure a bowling attack of Shaheen, Shinwari and The Rahat would be enough for Scots.

Hopefully Harris opens and we don't get to see Shehzad in the playing XI. He was poor in the PSL but still gets picked just on some fluke performances against the World XI last year.

Same squad as last series with Haris in for Babar. Understandable as only those players are included who are in plans for world cup. Pretty sure Hasan and Amir wont both the t20s.

The Selectors probably saw no point in flying over an entirely new squad for 2 days. 9 of the 15 were in the UK with 8 being in Test side and Malik for World XI. Though saying that, selection of Shehzad is a step backwards.

Amir and Hassan Ali should have rested. Haris and Rahat shouldn't be in the squad. We aren't going to learn anything by them 2 playing. Would have been a chance to introduce a new bowler and new batsmen instead.

Also his performances against NZ away as well. We cannot take performances against Windies on face value because thats Babar's favorite punching bags. Haris didnt fare better than Shehzad in PSL. I dont care to be honest, as long as the player is performing, the name on the shirt does not matter.

Absolutely, stupid stuff from the team management. I hope they rest Amir and Hasan and play Shaheen in both of the t20Is alongwith some other pacer ( I dont even want to take Rahat's name, ugh).

Pakistan team doesn't feature in top 5 in ODIs and Test. PCB will not take a risk and play a weak team against Scotland which may affect the T20 ranking and position (if Pakistan lose).

They will play one each but it's the extra 10 days rest they could have got

Pakistan's B grade team will not lose a T20 to Scotland.

I am not saying Scotland T20 team is too strong or will beat Pakistan convincingly. However, PCB did right by choosing the best 11 and not taking any risk with the #1 ranking.

Solid bump, we cannot afford to take any team lightly. However, i hope Shaheen plays both of the matches.

with Amir, Hassan, Faheem, Talat likely to play, and Shadab and Nawaz as the locks in the T20 team - theres a solid chance neither of Shaheen or Shinwani play in the first game

On one hand I can see the logic of retaining the some of the key players. On the other hand I would also would have been fine with Amir, Shadab, Hasan and few others asking for rest. Would have been fine with a pace attack of Junaid Khan, Usman Shinwari and Shaheen Shah Afridi

if our bowlers cannot bowl 4 overs in a t20 then we have whole different set of problems lol
