Do you believe in the hype of Valentines Day?

It may be the sour grapes for me but I don't believe in the Valentines Day hype. Like why would you want to waste money on this day when you have birthdays to do that?

It's sad for me when my friends who are not probably the best looking have partners when I am single :sanga
 
Moral of the story: what/how you speak goes a long way than looks.
 
Yes. I don't mind spending money on buying gifts. You probably shouldn't be in a relationship if you do.

You should cherish your parents and respect the workers everyday; you don’t need a specific day to remind you of this.

I believe in Valentines Day but I don’t get the point of it when there are birthdays. I have no interest in getting married anytime soon anyways

Anyway it's just a capitalist hallmark invention but thanks for reminding me, have to get the Mrs some flowers and chocolate on my way back from work tomorrow.

I get her flowers twice a month from the local traders but the look on her face during Valentines Day or any other special occasion is much more appreciative and welcomed which while worthwhile makes me wonder if the other occasions are actually sincere.

All in all, it doesn't really matter as long as it makes her happy.
 
No,I don't even like my birthday as the ones who don't talk to me that much,they seem nice and treat me as my brother which I don't like just for 1 day.
 
Never had a girlfriend and don't want one also. I like to keep it halal and I am only interested in wife.

I personally feel that Valentine's Day is a very big scam. People waste money unnecessarily on this day. You can show your love all year long; no need to have a special day for it.

If it's your principle, then it's OK.

But I don't get where money comes in valentine day. It's the two people involved who will decide whether it is justified to spend money or not.

For example, in my past relationships, we just spent time together and didn't go for buying gifts etc. It's an understanding that the two people mutually should have. If you can't afford it but still get pressurized, then the problem isn't valentine day but it's in the relationship itself.

If you are guy who loves the dating scene and buys flowers and gifts for your “girlfriend” then you should man up, and talk to your own sister and openly allow her go out on date, and take gifts and flowers from her supposedly “boyfriend”.

I think it’s a fair deal. Isn’t it?

May be you don’t have a sister?
No problem.
You will probably have a daughter - so get ready to let her date and do all the things you did in your dating years with however many “girlfriends” you had.

I'm a complete hypocrite in that regard. I don't have a sister, but I'm pretty sure I'll be very skeptical to let my daughter date guys without me knowing them inside out.

What is wrong in that? Two consenting adults can go on dates, nothing wrong in that.

You are assuming vulgar things which happens in a relationship in your mind (because you have a sick mindset) so you think relationships are bad. Hopefully one day you will understand things.
 
I think after a certain age you shouldn't have any involvement in your daughter's or sister's personal life.
 
Valentine's day is a propaganda by card, chocolate and novelty item companies to boost profits which is also endorsed alot by females.

I've no issues with my sister dating a guy. I would rather try to give a platform where she can talk about her relationship (which will give an insight to the guy she's dating) and meet him THAN hiding it from all others only to end up with a messy situation.

Guys will like girls, girls will like guys and mix match. You can't prevent a natural flow. What you can do is, guide them so that they atleast learn how to differentiate good ones from rotten tomatoes.

It's plain marketing. Book a restaurant table on 14th, at premium price. But same table on 15, it's your regular price. It's propaganda, hype and fooling common people. I guess it's also part of society, as we all want to do same trendy things.
 
First valentinesday being alone after 4 years. I never cared about valentines day ever, but for some reason, as I age i felt lonely and sad. :virat

Not everyone spends thousands of dollars for Valentines day. The ones that can afford that much money for gift perhaps already have got enough investment already.

Rose is a symbol of love and only real men love their partners. The remaining ones will always consider 10£ rose as waste of money.

As much as i disagree with Valentines Day there is no problem with those who wish to celebrate it. If your spouse gives the impression of being ignored then by all means send her some flowers and chocolates. It is still much better then the now cancelled "cow hug day" that India's RSS wanted to celebrate:uakmal. That was cancelled due to the whole world rightfully trolling them online:)):)):)). It’s a celebration of romantic love, not liberalism.

I don’t celebrate it as both Mrs R and I think it is made up by an American greeting card firm rather than having the power of myth like Christmas and Easter, or the pagan festivals.

I think it better to buy her something useful than giving her a rose. How about pens? How about cryptocurrencies? How about something that she can use?

Rose belongs in 20th century.

Regarding important things, there can be many things. Some examples would be washing dishes, doing the laundry, cleaning the house, buying her something (useful) that she is struggling to afford etc.

Finally, I think rose smells weird.

Not everyone is looking for a date. It is prohibited in Islam and so I am not looking for it.

I prefer good old marriage.
 
Its that time of the day, when jealous people use the religion card to bash other who live their own life.

Allow everyone how they want to live their life. If people like to enjoy this day by spending money on gifts soo be it. In a country like Pakistan, we dont have many celebrations, so why not celebrate such days.

Those who don't want to dont, but no need to pass comments or judge others who do so.

That is bcoz Valentines day is for expressing love and Rose is always considered symbol of love. That is why you would see in old Mughal portraits, Shah Jahan holding rose as its a symbol of love.

Incel means involuntarily celibate. Incels are typically irreligious people; they don't care about haram or halal.

I have always maintained my support for traditional and halal relationship (i.e. marriage). Therefore, I can't be an incel.

I was on an incel forum before. I never posted there but I was checking them out.

I was also members on 8Chan, 4Chan etc. Those places had a large number of incels. I know what they post and what they are like.

And, no. I don't make up anything. Everything I post can be proven objectively or subjectively. Just because you don't know something or understand something doesn't mean it is false.

Anyway, let's not go off-topic.

Every day should be a celebration of romantic love. Those who reject this event is because they don't need Mr Valentine to tell them when to romance their partner. Sure all this buying chocolates, balloons and flowers is a form of cultural imperialism or liberalism. I hear many Brits even celebrate thanks giving day nowadays:13: Why don't we openly become another state of the USA?. We obey them at everything they do as it is.

Regarding Valentine's Day, I think it is a scam. Every day should be Valentine's Day. There's no need for a special day.
