Does anyone else not like the Shalwar Kameez?

I think OP is from chichawatni, people from Urban center have been wearing pant shirts for ages and 2nd moderation has nothing to do with dress. Pakistan can wear dhoti as long as they are literate, High HDI and other human wellfare stuff etc etc.

I live in the UK and wear shalwar kameez more than western clothes, especially when at home. Nothing more comfortable than them.

Idk what city that is, my family is from the big cities (Lahore and Karachi).

Maybe you should try reading, nowhere in the OP does it say that Pakistanis don't wear "pent shurt", I just stated my opinion that I'm not a fan of the shalwar kameez.

Problem with shalwar kameez on men is that it shows the contours which look elegant on females but super weird on men.

I have seen some people wear it to work everyday lol. They are hardcore mullah types that work in IT and don't care what others think. I think shalwar kameez is an identity thing and one should wear whatever they want to be identified as. Hasidec jews in brooklyn wear black suit and jacket when its 90 degree outside and they smell like hell too but who cares.

I have seen on tv shows on India where the guys are wearing very thin cotton kurta with choori pajama. Now that might get laughed at by our macho types, but seemed super practical and comfortable to me. Does anyone in India actually wear that type of clothing. Come to think of it, not sure how practical choori pajama actually is. I'll see if I can find a picture somewhere.

Here in the UK I only wear it to Friday prayers or Eid days.

In Pakistan I wear it every day and dont wear any other clothes. I find it more comfortable in the hot weather and have no problems when going to the toilet, just take it off. I dont use public toilets in Pakistan or the side of the road so dont have a problem.

I get mine tailord to fit perfectly and only wear white or black, add a pair of Jordans and it's a nice look.:djb

Many in India do even though I agree it suits girls better.

Me and family members used to wear it a lot for sangeet functions, it's easy to dance and move around.

Kurta Pyjama the attire being shared by Syed1 is what most are wearing now ND is not comfortable, pathanis are awesome.

Kurta PYJAMA was my school dress.

Jordan's don't go with that, shalwar qameez only goes well with Peshawari chappals, Mamoon agrees.

I love wearing the Shalwar Kameez at home or in Pakistan even the Middle East. I despise the dhoti or loongi-kurtha, sherwani and churidaar pyjama's!

I may not be up to date with the local fashion trends but my feet appreciate my bad dress sense in Pakistan. :uak

I love shalwar kameez. So much comfort, so much convince. Looks and feels awesome.

Yeah chooridar pajama is all hip here.
I myself prefer it during festivals such as Diwali since it fits well and doesn't feel too loose like a regular pajama which might feel a tad awkward when you are trying to woo a girl.

Omg never thought you were the kind of paindu who would wear joggers with shalwar kameez hahahahaha :yk

Kurta and shalwar/pajama only go with chapal, sandal, loafers or formal dress shoes

Don't ask,It was a very orthodox Hindu school, I remember sending us to get blessing of some Sankaracharya before 10th board.

Weird. They don't do that stuff even in Aadarsh Vidya Mandir Schools here.

People who wear trainers with Kurta Pajama should immediately be confined in a solitary cell for the rest of their life.

Worst kind of Paindoos.

I have seen Pakistani women in England trying to get fit by walking wearing trainers with shalwar kameez. Absolutely tragic. Although having said that, trainers with a sari would look even worse...pretty sure that must have happened in places like Wembley.

If its worn and stiched properly and if the quality is good - it looks very elegant. One must know how to wear it. And keep it simple.

And nothing suits the dress except kohati chappal.

Joggers, sandals, shoes or whatever - dont wear those with shalwaar kameez.

Keep the kameez length to your upper/mid knees - too low or high can ruin the style.

Its the most comfortable dress you can wear in hot climate.

Don't do that :yk

Kurta shalwar only looks good with Peshawari chapal.

I will happily accept the paindu tag if it means my feet remain in good health. :)

Those things are just too uncomfortable and I find it funny people wearing such things on their feet, slipping and sliding on the roads of Pakistan.

Slipping and sliding :inti What kinds of roads have you been on?

Good quality sandals, Peshawari chappals etc. are also comfortable.

I remember being a child and visiting Pakistan, my uncles thought it was a good day out for me to go shop for chapals/sandals esp at the Bata store. They would make me try on different styles and I would just look at them and say NO what are these things? :inti

I spend most of my time in the village which outside of the house is dusty and muddy when if it rains. We also have to take into account the insects which bite, for some reason they start with my feet. When in Islamabad I do wear more formal footwear, such as comfy shoes not those suit shoes which are also used for dancing. Being comfortable is the priority. :)
