What's new

Does fronting popular TV shows suit someone of the stature of Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar?

Why can't fans think that they are tired of cricket. Every where they go its cricket cricket cricket
Let them enjoy their retirement. They're doing this to earn for their family and be with them at the same time.
Cricket fans want cricketers to dream, play, teach and die cricket

I'm not gonna lie to you, Wasim and Shoaib both look really good on a show and they're enjoying themselves a lot. It doesn't hurt seeing a cricketer do other things in life, It's always good to try new things in life.

So what is the verdict then, are they justified in doing such shows

IMO, yes.

It's their right to earn money provided they're not breaking any laws. If they're offending someone's sense of propriety or dignity or patriotism, well then, don't watch.

Who here will give them money or help them in their time of need? Not me and, I suspect, no one else.

Give the guys a break, many well respected sports stars have gone on to become presenters in the UK and across the globe, there is really no shame in this, let them do what they enjoy, i always thought Shoaib would go into bollywood, atleast he hasn't gone there, yet :P

Let them earn money - think that point of looking down at such things has moved on.

Having said that, I am not sure if we will ever see the likes of Sachin doing such shows so there must be a reason.

Cricketing legends, or any former cricketers, don't owe anything to their fans. They want to be embarrassments on TV, that's fine. People talk about these guys and their stature as if they are sahabis or something.

Personally, I'd keep Wasim away from cricket. An unpunished fixer isn't the safest thing to keep around a team.

Those game TV shows that are now spawning on every network are a joke, incredibly cringeworthy, some prey on the emotions of people for viewership, all for show.

Don't let a cricketers personal life affect your view on them as a cricketer.
