Donald Trump - President of the USA's legal troubles

There we have it from the horse's mouth, Mueller says today exactly what I'd been saying. The only thing that saved Trump was the DOJ guideline that you can't indict a sitting President.

Mueller: 'If we had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so'

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...alabama-mueller-democrats-2020-latest-updates

“If we had had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so,” he said.

He added, citing a DOJ policy: “Charging the president with a crime was therefore not an option we could consider.”

He explained that the investigation was bound by longstanding DOJ policy that a sitting president cannot be indicted. He said it would have been “unfair” to accuse someone of a crime when that person would not have the opportunity to stand trial and defend himself.

Any intelligent person can decipher the message he is sending, however, to Trumpeters and republicans, somehow this means complete and total exoneration and nothing to see here. Move on!

:)

Dude clearly says, “We can’t prosecute him because our hands are tied but there is a lot of fishy stuff going on here”

So can someone explain something to me. Trump cannot be prosecuted, but he can be impeached? If he is impeached, what evidence can they use? The evidence gathered by Muller?

Sure he can be impeached citing the ten counts of obstruction of justice Mueller reported. However you need two thirds of Congress which requires Republicans to grow a set (unlikely).

Sadly, Trump could shoot someone on Times Square and Mitch McConnell would shrug his shoulders.

Like Markhor said, he can be impeached but Dems don’t have the majority. There is plenty of evidence in the report. See this is the current debate for everyone. Should Dems push for it or not. If they do the repub in the Congress are bound to vote along party lines and Trump will not only get away with it but he will also weaponize the failed impeachment for his reelection campaign. This is why Pelosi has been reluctant to push impeachment because unless they are positive it will result in getting rid of trump, they shouldn’t do it.

It will be interesting to see how it goes...

I think the Dems should just use mueller report for re-election and not push for impeachment.. trump himself wants them to do it because he knows there is a good chance he will get away with it.

OK thanks, my point is that he cannot be prosecuted while he is President, but can be impeached - using the same evidence. Weird rules.

Though I guess Muller has provided enough firepower to the Democrats for impeachment.

Yes.. indictments and prosecution comes from the department of justice.. impeachment is a hearing in congress. That is the difference. Once he is not a president, the department of justice can proceed with indictments if they want. A sitting president cannot be prosecuted accordIng to the constitution.

I think an intelligent person would expect Mueller to say "there is sufficient evidence to proceed to impeachment".

Why is he speaking in code and his words have to be deciphered.

Given the current Senate numbers, impeachment during Trump’s first term is physically impossible - the Republicans have a >50% majority, and yet the Democrats/anti-Trump Republicans would need a >66% supermajority vote to remove him. It’s just not going to happen.

An entirely successful Presidential impeachment has never been achieved - it needs something Watergate-esque as a minimum, and even that proposition was never tested due to Nixon’s resignation.

The Democrats would be better served by carefully preparing their 2020 platform, and continuing to criticise Trump on both Mueller and on policy.

Currently I don’t rate the Dems as having much chance of preventing four more years for The Donald, particularly with Biden of all people leading the nomination race - although things can change.

I think an intelligent person would expect Mueller to say "there is sufficient evidence to proceed to impeachment".

Why is he speaking in code and his words have to be deciphered.
Because it’s not his job. He was working for the department of justice which has to remain apolitical. He cannot tell elected officials what they need to do.

The department of justice has already been embroiled
In the politics too much with comey and his replacement and rod rosenstein etc.
that’s how the delineation of power and responsibility works in the US institutions.

Is there a coherent sentence in amongst this ?

Trump was not chosen for his intelligence, if you are trying to look for logic or coherency in his presidency you are wasting your time. I stopped doing that a long time ago. He hand picked to protect the western/white hegemony and we all benefit from that, which is all that matters.

Got this from reddit after his recent tweets

“I try to ignore Trump tweets nowadays because they really are the leakings of a brain that is absolutely fried in grease and dementia. But this string of just utter, open racism actually gets under my skin for some reason. It's just such a blatant "if you aren't white you should be thankful to be here let alone thinking about enacting change". It's evil.

US President Donald Trump has redoubled his attack on four Democratic congresswomen, accusing them of "hating our country".

"If you are not happy, if you are complaining all the time, you can leave," he told a heated news conference outside the White House.

On Sunday Mr Trump called on the women, who are from ethnically diverse backgrounds, to "go back".

He was widely accused of racism and xenophobia, which he denied.

Mr Trump first sparked a furore in a series of tweets on Sunday in which he said the women "originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe".

"Why don't they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how," he wrote.

He did not explicitly name the women, but the context made a clear link.

The four - US-born Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib and Ayanna Pressley, and Ilhan Omar, who came to the US as a refugee aged 12 - all called the president racist and were backed by members of the Democratic Party.

Ms Ocasio-Cortez was born in the Bronx in New York, about 12 miles (19km) away from the Queens hospital where Mr Trump was born.

What did Trump say?

"These are people that in my opinion hate our country," President Trump told reporters on Monday.

"As far as I'm concerned if you hate our country, if you're not happy here, you can leave. You can leave right now. I don't know who's going to miss 'em," he said, to applause from some in the audience.

PM candidates condemn Trump 'go back' tweets
Asked by a reporter if he was concerned that his tweets had been seen by some as racist, Mr Trump said he was not.

"It doesn't concern me because many people agree with me," he added.

Mr Trump lashed out particularly at Ms Omar, saying she "hates Israel" and "hates Jews", as well as suggesting she supported the jihadist group al-Qaeda.

"I don't know, I never met her, I hear the way she talks about al-Qaeda," Mr Trump said.

"Al-Qaeda has killed many Americans. She said, 'you can hold your chest out, when I think of America, when I think of al-Qaeda, I can hold my chest out.'"

US media reported that Mr Trump's accusations probably reference a 2013 interview where Ms Omar was discussing a college terrorism class.

She did not praise al-Qaeda in the interview. Ms Omar instead recalled a class in which "every time the professor said 'al-Qaeda', his shoulders went up".

Ms Omar went on to point out that you do not say "America" or "England" with that same intensity, adding "but you say these names [of terrorist groups] because you want the word to carry weight. You want it to be something".

What's the reaction?

On Monday, Republican Senator Susan Collins said in a statement the tweets were "way over the line" and should be removed, while Republican Congressman Will Hurd, who is African American, described the comments as "racist and xenophobic".

But Republican Congressman Andy Harris defended Mr Trump, telling WBAL radio : "Clearly it's not a racist comment. He could have meant go back to the district they came from, the neighbourhood they came from."

Trump keeps pushing racial boundaries

Analysis by Gary O'Donoghue, BBC Washington C orrespondent

Telling people of colour to go back to where they came from cannot be regarded as anything other than a blatant evocation of a well-worn trope of racist language and sentiment that's as old as the hills.

But usually politicians who want to play the race card reach for the "dog whistle" - a political nudge and a wink that tells their supporters that they share their views that cannot easily be voiced in a liberal democracy without alienating people whose support they will need.

President Trump, however, has pushed the boundaries on racially charged language ever since he became a candidate.

Remember how Mexicans were Rapists and Drug dealers, how there were "good people" on both sides of the argument when white supremacists marched in Charlottesville, and how the President didn't see why America should allow more people in from "********" countries in Africa.

So what is his strategy? Keeping his core support fired up is unquestionably part of it. And exploiting divisions within Democratic ranks which have had racial overtones in recent days is another reason for his actions.

But in many ways, we should not be surprised by this President ratcheting up the political heat in this particular way.

After all, it's a short intellectual step from the economic nationalism encapsulated in the idea of America First, to a more thorough-going nationalism that sees a threat from the enemy within.

Despite criticism, President Trump launched another Twitter tirade on Monday morning, calling on the women themselves to apologise - to him and "the people of Israel".

Mr Trump has also accused Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi of racism, after she said the president's campaign slogan, Make America Great Again, was "about making America white again".

"That's a very racist statement," Mr Trump said. "I'm surprised she'd say that."

Image caption Nancy Pelosi says a resolution condemning the president's comments is forthcoming
In a letter to Democrats on Monday, Mrs Pelosi announced a resolution in the House to condemn the "disgusting attacks".

And on the Senate floor, Democratic leader Chuck Schumer called out conservatives, saying: "My Republican friends, he's not backing off. Where are you?"

Also on Monday, Mr Trump's attorney general William Barr delivered remarks at a Department of Justice forum on battling anti-Semitism, where he condemned "identity politics" and said he was "deeply concerned about the rise in hate crimes and political violence" in the last decade.

What's the background?

In his initial Twitter thread, Mr Trump did not specifically mention a link to recent news events, but immigration at the southern border was a dominant topic in US news at the weekend.

On Friday, Ms Ocasio-Cortez, Ms Tlaib and Ms Pressley testified to a House committee about conditions in a migrant detention centre they had visited. They expressed horror about alleged mistreatment happening "under American flags".

The president replied by tweeting that children's detention centres had had "great reviews" and the adult male areas were "loaded up with a big percentage of criminals".

This is not the first time Mr Trump has been accused of racism.

For years, he made false claims that former President Barack Obama was not born in the US - propagating the racist "birther" conspiracy.

Mr Trump and his father Fred Trump were sued by the Department of Justice in 1973 for discrimination against African Americans in their renting practices. They settled the case without admitting guilt in 1975 but were accused again by the justice department in 1978 of an "underlying pattern of discrimination" against black tenants.

This guy will win again.

Democrats have gone so far to the left that most people have no option but to support Trump.

Almost all the "far left" policies - at least the ones progressive democrats make it a crucial part of their platofmr - you are referring to are supported by majority of Americans.

Democrats need to do two things -

1) Get a candidate who doesn't have a damaged reputation. Hillary was not popular and choosing her last time was a mistake.

2) Don't go too left or too right. Focus on centrism.

I shudder to think what Trump will do in 2nd term (seems almost certain at this point). Right now, he is still restrained by the fear of loosing votes but there will be no stopping him next time. It will be sort of like a wild monkey on alcohol.

He can't do much even if he wins again. Remember, USA has three governments (judicial, executive, and legislative). There is check and balance.

Only way he can become a problem is if Democrats lose house majority.

He can still a lot of damage by governing via executive orders and stacking the federal & supreme court benches with far right nut jobs. Keep in mind Repubs control the senate. The president nominates the judges and senate approves them. Very slim chance senate will turn democrat majority. If it stays in republican even with 1-2 vote majority, Mitch mcTurtle will slam as many judges as possible which will damage the country for the next 30-50 years!

I don't think Trump will win again. Many of his former voters are disappointed in him. I expect Democrats to win. Let's see what happens.

Yeah but all this can't stop him from making controversial statements and spreading hate for minorities. What we are seeing is actually a restrained version.. Now imagine what would he be like in a full flow? Being a minority will be tough once Trump is finished with the 2nd term.

It doesn’t matter what majority Americans think or support. The only voters who matter are the ones in swing states.

Can’t wait to vote for Trump this time. Hands down the best choice among all the candidates.

You are correct.

Republican states and Democrat states don't normally change hands. Swing states generally decide the outcome.

Hillary was a centrist. She and Joe Biden are as centrist as it gets. The swing voters voted for Trump because be wasn't status quo and represented something different than decades of politics in Washington. A left candidate like Bernie is much more likely to defeat Trump than Biden, IMO.

I honestly don't think Bernie has much of a chance. USA generally does not elect like socialist type politician. I also don't think he will get the Democratic nomination.

Realistically speaking, I think Biden has the best chance to beat Trump. Biden is not perfect but his reputation is not as bad as Clinton's. Biden also seems like a tough guy (Hillary was way too nice) and you need that to confront Trump.

Apart from Biden and Bernie, no other Democratic candidate is charismatic enough. Biden is probably the candidate Democrats should root for.

Bernie is socialist in the way Canada and most of Western Europe is socialist. I.e., not socialist, just not completely capitalist in such a way that only benefits the rich and the corporations.

The crux of the matter is that most centrist democrats seem to have it backwards. They think putting a progressive candidate over a centrist candidate will result in a Trump win. But based on the polling of the policies being pushed for by progressive candidates, it seems to be quite opposite - i.e. a centrist candidate will more likely result in a Trump win than a progressive one. Hillay was as centrist as it gets, yet she lost to Trump. How does one explain Hillary losing to Trump if people are more likely to support a centrist candidate?

If democrats put up Biden against Trump, he is the candidate most likely to lose to Trump. He has no charisma, he doesn't excite anyone, he is establishment personified.

Most of the problems US has had were unrelated to Trump. The healthcare system, inequality through the roof, ridiculous tuition fees, gun violence, absurd medicine prices, etc are issues that exist because of corporate lobbying that have bought out vast swathes of both republican and democratic lawmakers. Biden will ensure that continues and he will not fix those problems.

The policies that Bernie advocates are actually hugely popular in the US. The public healthcare system, for e.g., polls at over 70% in the US. But centrist democrats and republicans will make you believe democrats will lose if they are pushing public healthcare as a platform item. The same goes for much of the policies that Bernie is pushing hard for.

The Dems are shooting themselves in the foot. Ilhan, tlaib, Cortez are not really helping their cause. Trump will win second term!

No offence but this will only show America has miliions of idiots, racists and backward people if they vote for Trump.

To say go back to your own country is clear racism. Trump deserves a slap from these women. He is a joke and so is his nation.

After Indians , Americans find it hard to criticise their country, seriously brainswashed people who are fed nationalism and patriotism from childhood. I'd wipe my bottom with that flag if I was American while having Trump in power.

Don't get me wrong. I love Bernie and I hope he becomes president. However, I just don't see him winning. I think he will experience extreme opposition from Republican-controlled Senate if he becomes president.

The US House of Representatives has voted to condemn President Donald Trump after a series of attacks aimed at four congresswomen.

The symbolic resolution denounced Mr Trump's "racist comments that have legitimised fear and hatred of New Americans and people of colour".

Mr Trump had been accused of racism and xenophobia for telling the members of congress to leave the country.

The president has since tweeted: "I don't have a Racist bone in my body!"

Tuesday's debate in the Democratic-controlled chamber was a highly polarised debate, with various Republicans insisting the vote itself was a breach of decorum.

It passed by 240 votes to 187.

Four Republicans and the House's sole independent, former Republican lawmaker Justin Amash, joined all 235 Democrats to approve the resolution

The four Republicans were Texas congressman Will Hurd (the party's only African American representative), Brian Fitzpatrick (Pennsylvania), Fred Upton (Michigan) and Susan Brooks (Indiana).

Passing a resolution - which is a statement of opinion and not legally binding - criticising presidential conduct is very rare.

What sparked this?
In a series of tweets on Sunday, the president said Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib "originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe" and should "go back".

Mr Trump did not explicitly name the women - all four of whom are US citizens - in his initial Twitter tirade, but the context made a clear link to the four Democratic congresswomen, who are known as The Squad.

The congresswomen dismissed the comments as a distraction on Monday, and urged people instead to focus on policies rather than the president's words.

What was said in the House?

Democrat John Lewis said that "at the highest level of government, there's no room for racism", while Republican Dan Meuser called the allegations a "ridiculous slander".

Immediately after the resolution passed, Democratic Representative Al Green of Texas filed articles of impeachment against President Trump. The Democratic leadership has refused to pursue impeachment, despite increasing calls from members of their party to do so.

Media captionWhat does it take to impeach a president?
Reading from his resolution, Mr Green said Mr Trump had "brought the high office of the President of the United States into contempt, ridicule, disgrace and disrepute".

Afterwards, President Trump tweeted about the vote, praising "how unified the Republican Party was" in voting against the resolution and again attacking the four women for "the horrible things they said about our country, Israel, and much more".

What did the resolution say?
The resolution "condemning President Trump's racist comments directed at Members of Congress" quoted US founding fathers and former presidents.

Immigration "has defined every stage of American history", it said, adding that "all Americans, except for the descendants of Native people and enslaved African-Americans, are immigrants or descendants of immigrants".

It also noted that patriotism is not defined by race or ethnicity, "but by devotion to the Constitutional ideals of equality, liberty, inclusion and democracy".

How significant is this?
There have been only four congressional votes to approve resolutions aimed at censuring or condemning a president, according to a 2018 report by the Congressional Research Service.

The last occasion was against William Howard Taft in 1912, when he was accused of trying to influence a disputed Senate election.

The latest resolution was brought forward by Democratic Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

"These comments from the White House are disgraceful and disgusting and these comments are racist," Ms Pelosi said in the debate.

Before the vote began, Republicans also made an extraordinary move in attempting to strike Ms Pelosi's words from the official books.

They said she had breached rules as lawmakers are not allowed to make personality-based comments against other members or officials.

Representative Emanuel Cleaver and member of the Democratic Caucus, who was presiding over the floor during this lengthy delay, abandoned the chair in frustration, banging the gavel as he left.

The Democratic-controlled chamber ultimately voted the complaint down.

How did the row start?

On Friday, Ms Ocasio-Cortez, Ms Tlaib and Ms Pressley testified to a House committee about conditions in a migrant detention centre they had visited.

Democrats have widely criticised the Trump administration's approach to border control, saying they are holding migrants in inhumane conditions.

Mr Trump has defended the actions of his border agents. His administration announced a new rule to take effect on 16 July, which denies asylum to anyone who crosses the southern border without having applied for protection in "at least one third country" on their way to the US.

After their testimony, Mr Trump said conditions at the centre had had "great reviews". He then posted his series of tweets about the women and Ms Omar, and has since stood by the comments.

An opinion poll in the wake of his tweets suggested support for Mr Trump rose among Republicans by 5%, although dipped among Democrats and independent voters.

Trump saw that there was a rift beginning to occur in the Democratic party between the moderates and the so called Democrat socialists which was getting a lot of news coverage in the US.

Trump knows the best way to defeat the Democrats in the house and senate is to paint them all with same brush. That tweet not only took the attention away from the rift between Pelosi and the four congresswoman but also united the Democrat party which believe it or not gives the Republicans a much better chance of victory in the house and Senate if they paint the entire party as supporting socialist policies.

Do you live in the US?

My place of residence is in Canada but due to my work I spent a large portion of the year in the US.

I was wondering how the coloured citizens of the US feel now after Trump has been officially declared a racist. I dont think I could imagine a UK PM still standing in office after such a vote.

My uncle has been in the US for over 30 years they had a very successful textile business in New York. Three stores were all family run, had number of employees etc. In the late 90s and early 2000s when the Chinnese started to really ramp up their export to the US in a matter of months his businesses were devastated.

He went through unimaginable hardship. Now after years of toiling in 2018 he is finally able to run successful business again. Like my uncle there are millions of everyday workers who were left behind in the pursuit of globalization. Trump might not always say the right thing but his policies have had positive impact on many everyday people and it will be the reason why he will easily be reelected.

Im sure he will be relected but the issue im interested in is Trumps racism and the official confirmation of this by the US itelf is a worrying thing indeed. People might not care in the US but this damage could be a problem for years to come now.

Globalization has indeed devastated many countries. There are many local people in Canada with no jobs while Canada keeps on giving work visas to foreign workers. China is a massive economic threat to everyday people in the West.

Having said that, Trump is not fit to be president. He is an idiot and he doesn't have any real clue about anything. He is a show man and a reality TV star.

I am deeply grateful for the opportunities that America has provided me. My skin color does not stop me from enjoying the same comforts of life that any white American does. In America, if you work hard, nothing can stop you from living the American dream.

This said, people like Ilhan Omar and AOC are extremely obnoxious and incompetent. All they do is constantly ***** about America. Trump is not wrong when he tells them to go back where they came from if all they have so many issues with our country. This applies to anyone with any skin color, it has nothing to do with racism. America has given them everything and they should be grateful for it rather than bad-mouthing it all the time.

I will vote for Trump because of all the candidates for presidency, Trump is easily better than all of them. My political views are aligned with his for the most part, be it stopping illegal immigrants, supporting Israel, bringing more jobs to the US, staying away from wars, etc.

Seems like loser democrats and fake news media will never stop twisting his words.

If you do not like America, you are free to leave.

The message is simple from the POTUS.

Trump is a racist, did he ever ask Bernie Sanders to leave the country for criticizing the US? No, but he went after the colored women. It's a given fact that Trump is a racist, even kids as little as 5 know it.

Trump is not racist. Just because he's outspoken and does not believe in political correctness, it does not make him racist.

I am deeply grateful for the opportunities that America has provided me. My skin color does not stop me from enjoying the same comforts of life that any white American does. In America, if you work hard, nothing can stop you from living the American dream.

lol. Trump has a history of racism.

You live in America but are ignorant of it's own laws. To tell others to 'go back where they came from' is discrimination within US laws.

Did you miss the vote? Trump has officially been confirmed as racist by Americans.

He has even been fined thousands for discriminating against his black staff. Are you not aware?

Trump hates you because of your skin colour, you may see him as a hero but he sees you are vermin.

You must be joking if you are comparing Sanders with trash like AOC and Ilhan.

Not my point. My point is that Trump never tells white American politicians to "go back to Europe". Trump is a racist towards Mexicans, Middle Easterners and Africans from "sh*thole countries".
For someone who isn't a racist, Trump has to spend a lot of times telling people he's not a racist. But go on and tell yourself what a great and benevolent leader Trump is.

Seems like loser democrats and fake news media will never stop twisting his words.

If you do not like America, you are free to leave.

The message is simple from the POTUS.

A Ben Shapiro mouthpiece :)))

Honestly I feel sorry for people like this and their thought process.

Supports genocide and spews the same trash that you’d hear from an alt right piece of filth. Brilliant stuff

Once Trump loses, this Alt-Right bubble will probably pop. Trump and Alt Right are just bubbles; a bit like house of cards.

Loss of Trump in 2020 is very important because it will be a massive blow to far-right and Alt-Right.

So the US itself has officially declared Trump as a racist. Gilly do you still deny he is racist?

Just so we are clear on what is racism.

If someone was to suggest that I leave Australia that would make them racist, this is your standpoint and you would condemn anyone who said that as racist.

Do you agree or disagree with that KK?

It was a simple question, you should answer it instead of avoiding it and asking another question. So if you answer mine, I will of course answer yours in return.

So Ill clarifly. When Trump told 4 women of colour to go back to where they came from , is this a racist statement? Keep in mind all are American citizens and only 1 wasn't born in the US. So?

No I dont think he is racist, we would have to label just about everyone a racist under those terms. All those people that suggested that Trumps wife and children should leave America would be racists.

You cant have one definition of a racist and different definition for those that you agree with.

Now can you answer my question if someone was to tell me to leave Australia would they be racist?.

I think there is a fine line there somewhere when people genuinely believe a demagogue and do not support the person for the vile nature of his thoughts but rather they think he is doing good.

Middle America, whites, blue collared not college educated, are happy due to booming economy and jobs. They care less for f it’s not impacting them.

Any nation would honestly behave the same way. Idealism works best in books, speeches, forums, whatnot. It’s upto Dems to do their best to make sure the people know Trump is not truly good because these economic policies are not good in the long term. The economy is not good because of him, it has to do with the slow and steady work Obama did.

But if the Dems keep harping along racial/ethnic/minority lines they won’t be able to get much done.

Am I the only one here who thinks that Ilhan Omar is a grade-A idiot? I hope she gets slammed in her re-election.

Why would she be an idiot? Just because she takes on Trump? Not a single statement of her has been idiotic.

Trump led a "SEND HER BACK" chant at a rally last night apparently.

Are we still actually debating whether he's a racist at this point.

Just joined the forum recently but when trump is the president of the United States and boris johnson is about to become the British prime minister you know the worlds gone insane!

Because when you legislate you should be pragmatic and willing to compromise.

Contrast her approach to Keith Ellison’s for example when he was in congress. He came across a lot more refined and cultured.

At least he's not a traitor like Omar according to whom some people did something on 9/11. Send such ungrateful people back to where they came from.

This leaving America ******** was all started at the time of election if you remember. All these millionaire celebrities and their blind worshippers were ready to leave America if Trump won. Now that Trump has said the same, it became a racist remark. Shows the hypocrisy of these haters.

I can leave my house with my own accord but if some white guy from my neighborhood comes knocking at my door, threatening me to leave my house, because of my identity, then he is indeed a bigot and racist of the highest order. There is no hypocrisy at play here as some Trump supporters, like you, would like us to believe.

The far-right/red necks on here will tell you "leave America"/"send her back"/"go back to where you came from" type comments are not racist and in isolation without any context they are correct up until this point.

What epitomises racism isn't the language that is used, it's about who you choose to vilify. Many prominent white Americans have criticised the US in recent years as well as Trump's policies (for e.g. Bernie Sanders), but why hasn't he told them to get out of the US? Why is he targeting these ladies? - who happen to be of different ethnic backgrounds/skin colour.

Trump's red necks and brainwashed far right will have no answer for this.

But again, Trump and his ilk don't understand the concept of consent so its not surprising to see them finding it so hard to make that distinction.

These Trump supporters are more brainwashed than ISIS fighters. They’ve already made up their minds, and you can’t change their opinions on anything. It’s pointless to argue with them.

'Some people did something and now all of us [Mislims] are being blamed for 9/11' were her exact remarks. It is so easy to demonize someone when smear merchants aren't willing to see what's actually right there in front their eyes.

You can call Ilhan Omer ungrateful but more than a 100,000 dead Iraqi civilians disagree. Homeless and Orphaned children of Afghanistan due to unending illegal US led wars disagree. People who have suffered directly at the hands of the Empire disagree. 13 year old children held at Guantanamo Bay. Afghan girls raped by the US tropes in Afghanistan disagree. Innocent civilians killed via drone attacks in Pakistan disagree. I disagree.

And if pointing out the things that are wrong with America is treason, then I guess Trump too is a traitor. His campaign slogan: Make America Great Again implies that America wasn't great at all. In essence he thought America was bad. But Trump supporter being Trump supporters always work backwards from their conclusions.

I think they just don't like being CALLED racist. Their issue is with branding.

Anyone who tells a person from a minority colour/ethnicity/religion to go back is a racists. Again his own people have just voted to officially confirm he's a racist. The same goes for anyone who told his family to go back. Ironic isn't it?

As for you question, it's absurd. You are white in a majority white populated nation, why would anyone tell you to back to where you came from?

Im going to ask outright, are you a racist Gilly because you cannot see the racism in Trump?

Volunteering to leave and asking to leave are not the same.
