"Don't think you realise how blessed you are to have so many guys who bowl 140-150ks": Ben Cutting

Cutting speaking post game

"The strategy we have is correct, its about the execution of it; Although I know it didnt look like that on the scoreboard but its just that 5% tweak we need primarily with the ball"

"In the past 2 games including today's one, we took early wickets, and had teams 3 down for not that many runs, but then there were partnerships in the middle to the end which seems to be the ongoing trend; The fielding has hurt us for most games so far"

"I like not to go in too early as the ball is too new (Cutting joking a bit); Its part and parcel of chasing a big score, you have to come out with all guns blazing; You need a lot of luck to go your way when you are chasing a total like 210 and today it just didnt work (for us)"

"There are still good signs such as somne of the shots that Azam played - the inside out to cover - those were amazing"

"Its very strong, the PSL; Its a difficult game for batters and bowler; You do get low slow wickets which is difficult for the bowlers, and then you get beautiful wickets for batters where boundaries are small and you have your backs up against the wall as a bowler"

"What sticks out for me the most is how many fast bowlers you have; I dont think you realize that how blessed you are as a country to have so many guys who can bowl 140-150kph"

"There's still a lot of cricket to go - we are just getting warmed up"

"Ben Dunk and I went to school together and I have seen him do that a number of times; He's a world-class cricketer and I am surprised he hasnt played much PSL until tonight's game, but surely he will walk into the team for the rest of the season for Lahore"

Always like witty cricketers, who know to use variation and take pace of the ball -- and can bash it about as well. Hope Marcus Stoinis is also involved in PSL 6

So another overseas player endorsing the same thing. :faf

The competition for places is heating up nicely. Hopefully it pushes them all to improve and bowl even faster!

This sentiment about pace bowlers is very common amongst all overseas guys. Would love to see them talk about spinners also as that seems to be a weakness in PSL

Yes we realize it now. We are certainly blessed to be ranked 7th in Tests and 6th in ODIs, and we were blessed to see our 140 kph pacers get blasted all over Australia a couple of months ago.

We will see what this army of 140 kph pacers achieve for Pakistan cricket.

For a moment just stick to the topic. He said you guys are blessed to have so many 140-150 kph bowler. So the obvious anwer to that is "Thank you, that is nice and motivating to hear".

You keep derailing every single thread and moreover you keep stating the obvious. Come with something new. People know about the rankings.

All bowlers get blasted every now and then, Pakistan's problem is not the bowlers. It's the batsmen. Apart from Babar Azam you don't have any WC batsman. Previously we had 2-3 very good batsmen in the team and the bowlers managed to help them out. Now you don't even have that luxury so the bowlers have nothing to bowl at. Big scores are easily chased down by teams with good batsmen, but Pakistan don't have them at the moment. And also remember the ages of the bowlers. Even if you add 2-3 years to their official ages most of them are still very young.

the bowlers shld improve, apart from SSA, everyone is raw....

good thing is , almost all of them are sub 20z or early 20.. which means they will grow stronger and better

We all saw the capability of wonderful IPL batsmen and bowlers in New Zealand and many other SENA tours with the exception of on tour against the weaker and under transition Australia team.

the bowling was good, excellent at times esp by Shami.. but then the NZ batsmen could play it better than the so-called super stars... with the new chant of "let them come home" lol

Kholi is the only world class batsmen in that lineup and Pujara is good as well... rest were pathatic to say the least

I feel bad for indian supporters that they have to watch the likes of Pant and Agarwal in their team when they have better options... the saga of us playing likes of Ahmad Shahzad and Umar Akmals and Haffez for over a decade ....

I think you did not watch australian series the bowler that were blasted by australians in tests were 125kph bowlers neither 145kph shaheen nor 145kph naseem

When Pakistan was number 1 it was called a fluke, now we are being told if our bowlers are so good why are we 6 bla bla bla, some people sound like a broken record, lets appreciate the fact that so many overseas players are saying good things about our youngsters, this is the kind of press we need to try and bring Pakistan back

Pakistan batting has been very fragile for a long time.If Pakistan can put 350+ scores then bowlers will do their job.Shaheen and Naseem are very inexperienced so it ridiculous to expect them to bowl out teams. They have good pace and will become good in a couple of years. They have not played a lot of cricket.Australian bowlers have been around a long time and have played a lot of cricket around the world.Australia are very difficult to beat at home so I am not disappointed with our young bowlers.

Didnt you stop caring about Rankings when Pakistan became the top Ranked T20I team

You are right about Australia tour. That win was against a weaker australian team which was down on confidence because of ball tampering and without their two match winners. :inti

Yep , the capability of wonderful IPL batsmen and bowlers won them series wins in SENA tours SA (2-1), Eng (2-1), Aus (1-1), NZ (5-0).

Atleast they don't get thrashed in their home conditions like some third class teams do!

Our fans can do bhangra over validation of their 140-150 kph pacers, but what is the point when we will continue to languish in the mid-table in Test and ODI rankings, and not come close to qualifying for the WTC final.

Enjoy these choti choti khushiyaan.

Dont worry bro india will not also qualify for wtc final

May your dreams come true. However, if they do and lose the final to England or Australia, Pakistani fans, while sitting at the bottom of the points table, will celebrate harder than English or Australian fans.

We have mastered the art of “parai shaadi me Abdullah deewana”.

I understand you pain after the team you worship got trashed In NZ.

Pakistan should auction and sell some of them to other countries. Not everyone of them can play international cricket for Pakistan and the biggest dream of a cricketer is to play international cricket.

So it would be fair if Pakistan picks up those who it think will not make the Pakistan national team and sell them to other countries so they can fulfill their dream of playing international cricket from another country.

If we can't enjoy the emerging talent then what is the point of watching and commenting on cricket at all?

Apparently he will not be available for the next couple of games.
Any truth to these rumors?

You said that as if those fast pacers are the difference between a top ranking and a bottom ranking. A man said a compliment and the whole world is in awe of these young pacers, let them develop and get better, rather than talking like they are the sole reason Pakistan is bottom-ranked. The rankings are off-topic here.

And what else we gonna enjoy besides praises at this point xD. Obviously when we win we'll enjoy that too but in the meanwhile every kushi counts lol

LAHORE, Mar 10 (APP):Australian all-rounder Ben Cutting on Tuesday said that Pakistan was safe for cricket and he did not have any apprehensions on coming here to play in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) V 2020.

Talking to the media during Quetta Gladiators’ practice session at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) here, he said, “Security was not my concern as I had seen the security measures during the World Eleven tour in September 2017”.

Ben Cutting said he has relished his stay in Pakistan and seen many parts which he had not seen before. “I had visited Pakistan with the World Eleven for only four days then but HBL PSL V is a long tour”, he responded.

About Australian team touring Pakistan, he said, “I am not the right person to say anything but Australian might come to play cricket in Pakistan in the next five years.”

About Quetta Gladiators’ lack-luster performance in the HBL PSL V, Ben Cutting said the Gladiators were a very young side, especially the fast bowlers like Nasim Shah and Mohammad Hasnain.

“They have taken wickets for the team but at the same time they have conceded some runs at times as well and we need to rectify that”, he said in response to conceding high scores during in the last 10 overs in many matches.

He regretted to have lost in the rain-curtailed Rawalpindi match against Peshawar Zalmi, adding that the team could not get over the line in a tight finish which could have gone any way.

He said Quetta Gladiators needed to excel in all three areas bowling, batting and fielding in the last two matches to nurture any hopes of making to the play-offs.

When asked about young Pakistani fast bowling talent, Quetta Gladiators all-rounder Ben Cutting said that young fast-bowlers Nasim Shah and Mohammad Hasnain were immensely talented and destined to rule the world fast-bowling scene for the next 10-15 years.

“I personally dislike facing them in the nets especially when they use two new balls between them as their pace and swing are quite intimidating”, heaping praise on young Pakistani fast-bowling duo.

About the HBL PSL V, Ben Cutting said with good batting pitches, quality fast bowlers and small boundaries as compared with the Big Bash League (BBL) where cricket fields are 75-80 meters, HBL PSL was a tough tournament.

Quetta Gladiators currently languish at bottom of the points table with 6 points from eight matches and they are due to play against Multan Sultans, table leaders with 11 points who have already qualified for the the playoffs, at the Gaddafi stadium on March 11 (Wednesday).

Those are the two who I have high hopes for. Perhaps Rauf as well, although haven't seen much of him this year due to fitness issues I believe. I know both Hasnain and Shah both still have some development to go before they become genuine top class bowlers, but they have the raw ability, now it will just be a case if they can match that to control and bowling intelligence.

Naseem is above husnain but needs to work hard

Surprised he hasnt played more t20 cricket for australia seeing some of the names out there for them recently.

What exactly is he doing in the PSL? Anyone?

Allrounder. Which match did you watch today?
Seems like you didnt see his batting.

Yes I did watch the game but wondering if his batting won PZ the game? Or how many wins for PZ has he been a crucial part of?

Ben Cutting doing his mission impossible thing again....
