Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain passes away

Mental health is neglected very much in Pakistan. People who say he was this and he was that, why do we not say he became like that as a result of his poor mental health?

I mean look at his early days - the first 10/15 years of his fame, he was a joy to watch in giving us information on Islam back on Ary Digital. You compare that to his patterns over the past 7 years, it is clear that his mental health was going downhill and he needed therapy and to see a psychiatrist but no instead they gave him more exposure on channels and saw his poor well being as a way to laugh at him and a form of entertainment.

I'll remember him for the good times and it is certainly sad how young he departed this world. RIP.

How is this even allowed? So the police cannot do their job in making sure that the man wasn’t killed, poisoned or any other forms of foul play because his family won’t allow an autopsy?

Ridiculous really!

This is Pakistan for you!

The result of using theology in our laws.....

This is why i say theology shouldnt mix with laws, because you end up with such dumb laws...

We end up taking islamic laws soo literal that we end up forgetting the logic or the context

So a person can strangle someone in his household to death and then request the police to not do an autopsy whilst claiming the person died from natural causes?

What a dumb country!

I recon his family should be put behind bars on conspiracy of murder for disallowing an autopsy! Something isn’t right

I feel there is much more then meets the eye here. Aamir had predicted he will be dead soon additionally he seemed to be in great panic over the past few days. That his family rejected a post mortem has only raised even more eyebrows. I loved him the most when he hosted "Aisay nehi chalay ga" regularly bashing India and Tariq Fateh:yuvi. He had wonderful command of the Urdu language as well. He will me missed by many.

I suspect this is a case of suicide. He just wanted to die. What else can explain him locking himself up in a room with a running generator with fumes and fuel for days consecutively. Even his servants have testified he was shouting, screaming belligerently

I recon his family should be put behind bars on conspiracy of murder for disallowing an autopsy! Something isn’t right

I have no idea why this hasn't happened yet. Police cannot stay quiet on this.

Notices issued on petition seeking Aamir Liaquat’s autopsy

KARACHI: The judicial magistrate (East) in Karachi has issued notices to the legal heirs of popular televangelist Aamir Liaquat Hussain and police officials on a petition seeking autopsy of the lawmaker who was found dead at his residence earlier this month.

The hearing of the case was held at Karachi City Court on the petition of a citizen, Abdul Ahad on Friday.

Barrister Arsalan Raja, counsel for the petitioner, stated that Aamir Liaquat died under mysterious circumstances at his residence in Karachi earlier this month.

The determination of cause of his death is very important since he was a renowned TV host and politician, said the petitioner.

The sudden death of Aamir Liaquat has raised suspicions among his fans and it was suspected that he was killed over a property dispute. The petitioner requested the court to form a special board for the exhumation and autopsy of Liaquat, saying identifying cause of his death was necessary.

After hearing the arguments, the court issued notice to Aamir Liaqat's family and SHO Brigade Police Station and sought their replies on June 18. The legal heirs of the deceased TV host were also asked either to appear before the court or submit their replies by 9am on Saturday.

A petition was filed in the court of judicial magistrate (East) on June 15 seeking autopsy of the late politician.

The PTI MNA was found unconscious at his house situated in Khudadad Colony of the metropolis, according to his servant Javaid.

The 50-year-old was rushed to a hospital where he could not be resuscitated and was pronounced dead. His death came as a shock to the media industry and people vented anger at the social media trolls who had hounded the TV host for his botched third marriage.

The body of famous TV host and lawmaker was handed over to his family members for burial only after the Judicial Magistrate Naukar Abbas allowed it.

While police were insisting on conducting an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death, Aamir Liaquat's estranged family members who come only for his last rites insisted that a postmortem will delay the funeral.

The body was received by the late anchor's son and preparations for the last rites were conducted by Chippa.

A local court in Karachi on Tuesday ordered the director of the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Reporting Cell to submit a detailed report on private videos of recently deceased televangelist and politician Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain that were leaked on social media, allegedly by his wife Dania Malik.

Additional District and Sessions Judge (South) Sehrishtadar instructed the FIA director to ensure that the report gets furnished without fail by July 6.

Shabbir Shafqat, the petitioner, had approached the court on Sunday, alleging that the FIA director had not entertained his request to lodge a case against Malik.

He accused Malik of posting "immoral" videos on social media, which he said caused cracks in the matrimonial life of the couple and hurt public sentiments.

“Such an act of Dania Malik falls under Cyber Crime Act so legal action must be taken against her”, the applicant argued.

The petitioner said he had approached the FIA director to look into the matter but nothing was done, compelling him to approach the court.

The applicant pleaded with the court to direct the respondent to record his statement under Section 154 of the Criminal Procedure Code and lodge a case against Malik.

Hussain died on June 9 and was buried the following day after his family refused an autopsy. A Karachi judicial magistrate subsequently ordered authorities to conduct a post-mortem on the televangelist's body and a six-member medical board has been formed to perform the examination.

The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday restrained the police from exhuming the body of lawmaker and television personality Aamir Liaquat Hussain for a post-mortem examination to determine the "actual cause of his death".

Following Hussain's sudden death on June 9, the police had said an autopsy would be conducted but performed only a preliminary examination before relinquishing custody of the body to his family after they refused an autopsy. He was buried the following day.

Last week, a Karachi judicial magistrate had ordered authorities to conduct a post-mortem on the televangelist's body after which a six-member medical board was constituted for the purpose on June 23.

However, Hussain's children — Ahmad Aamir and Duaa-e-Aamir — filed a petition in the SHC today expressing that they were "aggrieved" and "dissatisfied" at the judicial magistrate's "baseless and meritless" order and appealed for it to be dismissed.

They said that the petition for a post-mortem examination was only filed in order to get cheap and meagre publicity among the general public and nothing else. "There is no need of such exercise of post-mortem of late Dr Aamir Liaquat who has already been buried on June 10."

The petition stated that before Hussain's burial, the police and other relevant authorities were present at the Chhipa morgue, where a thorough external examination of the body was conducted.

"It found that there was no mark of violence, wound, fracture, etc., which clearly transpires that no misshape (sic) had occurred with the deceased and after completing all codal, legal, and religious formalities the exercise of burial was conducted."

It alleged that the police and the medical board misused their powers for their own whims and wishes for "certain vested interests".

The police, the family argued, was insistent on conducting the post-mortem but Hussain's first wife had repeatedly refused it on the pretext of the family's religious beliefs, adding that exhuming the body more than 10 days later would be disrespectful towards the deceased.

Subsequently, at the hearing today, a two-member bench, comprising Justice Junaid Ghaffar and Justice Amjad Ali Sahito, suspended the judicial magistrate's orders and issued notices to the police, health authorities and the magistrate.

SHC suspends magistrate's order for Aamir Liaquat's autopsy

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday suspended an earlier order by the judicial magistrate regarding TV host Aamir Liaquat Hussain's exhumation and subsequent autopsy.

The court also issued notices to the health secretary and the medical board formed for the purpose.

A two-member bench, headed by Justice Muhammad Junaid Ghaffar, heard the petition seeking a stay order on the post-mortem of the late TV host turned politician.

The lawmaker's daughter, son and their lawyer, Zia Awan, appeared in court as the latter argued against Judicial Magistrate East Wazir Hussain Memon's decision.

Justice Ghaffar questioned what was wrong with Memon's verdict. The counsel contended that the person who applied for the autopsy was not a relative.

"Anyone can come like this tomorrow. The purpose of the applicant seeking Aamir Liaquat's autopsy was to get cheap fame," he stated.

Citing the example of the late Pakistan Peoples Party leader, Benazir Bhutto, he added that "an autopsy was also not carried out after the denial by former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto's heirs. The assassination of Benazir Bhutto was also a high-profile case."

The counsel further stated that an autopsy is "prohibited" according to the Sharia and presented a fatwa to support his argument. "Autopsy of Aamir Liaquat will desecrate his grave," he pleaded.

Calling Mmeon's judgment a "hasty" decision, he urged the court to "quash" it.

To this, the court inquired if the lawyer had been granted an opportunity to plead his case before the magistrate, to which he responded in the affirmative but expressed dissatisfaction in the process.

"No fan has the right to appeal for an autopsy. If that happened then it will set a bad example" he furthered.

The court then directed Awan to read the written judgment of the magistrate and after the advocate complied, the court suspended the earlier order.

The hearing was adjourned till June 29 and notices were issued to the concerned parties.

The Sindh High Court (SHC) again issued summons to petitioner Abdul Ahad seeking MNA Dr Aamir Liaquat’s autopsy.

The two-judge bench headed by Justice Muhammad Junaid Ghaffar was hearing a petition filed by the heirs of Aamir Liaquat who had filed a request against his autopsy.

The family’s counsel Advocate Zia Awan appeared before the court while Abdul Ahad remained absent from court proceedings as the police filed its reply. The petitioner did not appear before the court despite being issued a summon earlier.

Syeda Bushra Iqbal files case against Dania Shah
First wife of late host Aamir Liaquat Hussain announced that she is filing a case against his third wife and mother

Syeda Bushra Iqbal, the first wife of late popular host Aamir Liaquat Hussain, on Friday announced that she will be filing a case against Hussain's third wife, Dania Shah, with the cybercrime wing.

Taking to Twitter, Iqbal announced that she will be filing a case against Dania and her mother. "Today we are going to file an application in FIA Cyber Crime against Dania Shah and her mother." She went on to request prayers as well."

Previously, the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday approved the request of Shah, the third wife of deceased televangelist and politician, to be made a party in the case regarding his autopsy and ordered the relevant parties to prepare for it. Shah, who filed for divorce shortly before Aamir Liaquat’s death, requested the high court to conduct his post-mortem in front of the SHC bench comprising Justice Mohammad Iqbal Kalhoro and Justice Kausar Sultana Hussain.

During the hearing, Dania Shah's mother came to the rostrum and said that Aamir Liaquat's wife had the right to know the cause of death. “My daughter was Aamir Liaquat's wife. Aamir Liaquat Hussain was such a great personality, the cause of death should be known,” she stated before the court.

Last month, Hussain was found dead in his house in Karachi. Hussain – who was also a PTI MNA from a Karachi constituency – was found unconscious at his house situated in Khudadad Colony of the metropolis, according to his servant Javaid. The 50-year-old was rushed to a hospital where he could not be resuscitated and was pronounced dead.

According to sources, the anchor had the door of his room locked from inside. The servant knocked on it several times in the morning but to no avail. He revealed that Hussain had complained of chest pain the night before.

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Thursday disposed of the petition challenging the orders to exhume the remains of televangelist and politician Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain after all parties concerned reached a consensus.

Ahmed Aamir and Dua Aamir, Hussain's children, had filed a plea against the exhumation orders passed by the East judicial magistrate and sought its nullification. The high court, however, had suspended the orders and sought arguments on the plea from the parties.

At the outset of today’s hearing, the police apprised the court that an additional police surgeon on June 10 — a day after Hussain's death — had performed an external examination of the body and declared that no judgement about the cause of death can be made on the basis of external examination.

Justice Iqbal Kalhoro remarked that the complainants should approach a sessions court against the orders of the judicial magistrate and a high court cannot be approached in this case directly.

Later, the court disposed of the plea after the parties in the case reached a consensus.

A citizen, Abdul Ahad, had initially filed a plea in the judicial magistrate's court, seeking the exhumation and postmortem of Hussain to ascertain the cause of his death.

Hussain's third wife Dania Malik also recently became a party in the case and demanded an autopsy.

However, the deceased televangelist's former wife Syeda Bushra Iqbal said in an unofficial media statement that Dania did so just to divert attention from allegations of being the reason for Hussain's death.

Weeks before his death, some indecent videos of Hussain had gone viral. He even condemned the people who were sharing these videos and asked why the cyber-crime wing did not take them off.

Former PTI leader and televangelist Aamir Liaquat’s ex-wife Bushra Iqbal has slammed his third wife Dania Shah, calling her to be punished for leaking Liaquat’s private videos and changing statements regarding the matter.

A revision application to suspend exhumation orders of the late politician has been submitted in the court of session judge east by his daughter Dua Aamir.

“Dania is not Aamir Liaquat’s widow. She has been legally divorced,” Bushra said, adding that Liaquat’s family has filed an application against the gang for leaking her former husband’s videos breaching his privacy.

She also said that Aamir was depressive, while Dania accepted making those videos.

Taking to Twitter, Bushra also informed her followers about the family’s decision to submit a revision application in the sessions court to suspend exhumation orders of the late televangelist.

“We are going to submit a revision application in sessions court to suspend the order of the exhumation of Late Aamir Liaquat,” she tweeted.

Liaquat’s former wife also wrote, “Hopefully Allah will resolve this matter in favour of Ahmed & Duaa. In sha Allah.”

Dua Aamir’s lawyer Advocate Zia Ahmed Awan said that a magistrate had earlier permitted to bury Liaquat without a post-mortem and police also did not object to it because they did not find evidence.

They said that the family did not want Liaquqat’s post-mortem conducted. We’ve approached the session court on high court’s order. The same court cannot issue two verdicts. The earlier verdict was issued without taking the family’s account in consideration.

Aamir Liaquat's autopsy: Court decides in favour of daughter Dua Aamir
Aamir Liaquat's family had maintained that they might suffer an irreparable loss if the stay order against the exhumation was not granted

KARACHI: A sessions court on Tuesday declared a local court's verdict allowing the autopsy of PTI leader Aamir Liaquat Hussain null and void.

Dua Aamir, the PTI leader's daughter, had challenged the verdict given on a petition of a citizen on June 18 by Judicial Magistrate (East) Wazeer Hussain Memon.

"It is crystal clear that the cause of death of deceased is still uncertain which itself has raised a question on the death, either it is natural or unnatural, and could only be ascertained after exhumation of the dead body and its examination," the court order had stated.

Aamir Liaquat’s family had claimed that the petitioner had filed the application for exhuming the body for an autopsy on account of his previous political rivalry with the late lawmaker.

The applicants maintained that they might suffer an irreparable loss if the stay order against the exhumation was not granted.

Prior to this, the family had also challenged the magistrate’s decision in the Sindh High Court that had granted an interim stay against the exhumation of the body.

Late televangelist, Aamir Liaquat Hussain's third wife, Syeda Dania Shah has been arrested by Federal Investigation Agency, reported Express.pk. According to Shah's mother, Salma, several police officers raided her house and subjected the latter and her children to torture. She further added officers thrashed Shah and dragged her to the police van as they took her away.

Salma further alleged that Hussain's first wife, Syeda Bushra's lawyer was among the police officers. She added they are clueless as to why Shah has been arrested and under which case. Salma added that she was asked to come to Lodhran Saddar police station to inquire further.

However, several news portals have reported that Shah has been arrested by the FIA for leaking Hussain's indecent video earlier this year. Shah had previously shared a clip of the late host on social media, which prompted uproar. Later, the television personality shared his two cents on the matter and has revealed that he has no choice but to leave the country after 'indecent' videos made rounds on social media.

"These people are paying heed to a 14-15-year-old," Hussain had said in the detailed video as he recites some verses from the Holy Quran. "Anyone who consumes alcohol cannot recite these verses. Everyone has buried my reputation in the mud over a girl whose interviews should not have taken in the first place. She filed for divorce and I was complying with it. All these new YouTubers and so called journalists who have come forward [to give coverage to Dania] have done great injustice to Pakistan."

Are there any further details regarding the actual cause of his death?

Defence counsel Advocate Liaquat Gabol submitting the bail application on behalf of Dania Shah, said, "my client was falsely implicated in the case to disenfranchise her from her right to inheritance."

Advocate Gabol said that Dania Shah did not make any video, nor did she make it viral on social media. Aamir Liaquat had never filed any complaint against Dania Shah in his life, whereas she is being implicated in cases to deprive her of her right to inheritance.

The court adjourned the hearing till December 20 while seeking a response from FIA on the petition.

As per details, Dania Shah was sent to jail on judicial remand by the court on the allegations of making immoral videos of the late Amir Liaquat. The case was registered by Amir Liaquat's daughter under the provisions of the PICA Act. FIA officials arrested Dania Shah from Lodhran.

Court orders Dania Shah's release from prison
Aamir Liaquat's former wife ordered to deposit surety bond of Rs200,000

A court on Tuesday ordered the release of Daniya Shah, wife of TV host Aamir Liaquat, after she was arrested on charges of leaking an objectionable video of her late husband.

A single-member bench consisting of Justice Omar Sial gave its decision on Dania's plea, granting her bail and ordering her release from prison.

Dania's lawyer Liaqat Gabol had argued that the phone numbers from which the videos were spread do not belong to Dania.

He added that the case against Dania is weak and she should be granted bail.

Dania was arrested after Liaquat's daughter from his first marriage had lodged a complaint against her. The court ordered the accused to deposit a surety bond of Rs200,000.
