What did you guy's do after Eid prayers? The usual would be come back home, meet and greet relatives and eat until the belly says "no more". No mela or anything like that where I live. With so many Muslim's in the west now I think we need too jazz Eid up a lot more like meeting places, mela's and so on.Was anyone else's Eid boring as well? Be honest.

Lmao I've lived in Pakistan my entire life and Eid is the most boring day of the year (sorry). I go pray and then sleep the entire day. Where do all these Mela's take place? At least none in Isb

Boring, atleast here in Canada.

Pray, then usually sleep. Just meet people throughout the day though that has gone down. Eidi also gone down.

Very dull.

Same old "Sheer Khorma"....what's up with that...why do we have to cook and eat this...whats the history behind this...WTH....any other suitable options?

After prayers,I stay up for a few hours meeting guests that come to our place. Then we go meet some relatives. We return by 2pm and thats when I take a nap. Then at night the entire family has dinner at one relatives' house.

First eid here in Canada and it was terrible. So boring. No atmosphere nothing. Even after eid namaz, everyone just got up and left. I wish I was in Pakistan. Going there a week too late.

After prayers me and my boys we usually go out for breakfast to Tim Hortons. We have a nice chilling session for about an hour or 2.

After that there is lunch at my house where relatives and friends come over and we have an open house till about 7 in the evening. It's a very hectic day.

Eid Mubarak to all.

To people who dont have family/friends abroad it is not much special. Especially when its only 1 day affair

Go to mosque and come back home to eat. We visit one or two neighbours. A customary siesta is necessary at some point during the day. Also sending greeting wishes is also customary.

However last year a Eid prayer and micro fun fair was arranged at a local park. That was different and very much a special day.

Came back from prayer then pretty much did nothing for a couple of hours, then we went to peoples houses, returned at 12. Am I the only one who's Eid wasn't boring?:afridi

My Eid weekend was crazy with a CAPITAL C.

1. Friday: Drove four hours after work to Ottawa, got in pretty late but didn't sleep much because of shugal-mela.
2. Saturday: Took brother to get an eye procedure he had to get done and met with sister and other family members
3. Sunday (Eid day): Prayed Eid namaz in Ottawa and immediately drove four hours back to Toronto, lunch at phopoos house where all the other phopoos/chacha and cousins had convened stayed there till the evening. Dinner at mamoos house where all cousin from mother's side had convened, stayed there till late at night.
4. Monday (Eid 2nd day): Went to work and after work had BBQ at a friends place where I met all my close friends.
5. Tuesday (Eid 3rd day): Normal day

Finally tonight I'll be able to get some much needed sleep after five days.

My Eid in Cape Town

After Eid Namaaz I headed towards the cemetery to offer prayers to my family members who passed away

I than visited friends and family members and I offered their kids some money

I had lunch at my sisters house

I had a walk on the beach late in the afternoon. I had a ice cream

Headed home. End of day

The worst part is directly after prayers when you are supposed to hug relatives and say "Eid Mubarak". In mostly what is a big crowd most people would only greet family and some close friends if they see them there. Can be very awkward if you are not part of any group to stand with and talk about Pak's recent Cricket performance!:razzaq Can't get to my car fast enough!

In villages, place for Eid Prayer is usually adjacent to Graveyard and immediately after Eid Prayer, it's compulsory to visit graveyard and pray.

Then the usual greetings and visits to relatives. In evening we all get together for a BBQ.
