Shadab, Nawaz, Faheem, Fakhar and Babar have all played for Pakistan for around a decade now. They are past their primes, they gave it their best shot at 2019 WC, 2021 WC, 2022WC. They should've won 2-3 trophies but didn't.

Alas the Pakistani T20 team especially needs to move on just as the international game has. Some of them can still be apart of the ODI outfit.

The selectors tried to move past these players but Hesson bought them back. Our replacements did not cement their positions.

Shadab is the next skipper. And Bobby is the next opener.

Faheem may get dropped. Fakhar may also get dropped. Nawaz will linger for a while.

Pakistan fails consistently to invest in the right player and defaults to the tried and failed formula of over investing in fake allrounders when other teams are moving to specialist players and perhaps 1-2 allrounders. 90 % of the Pakistan team are fake allrounders or past their prime specialists like Babar.

Good riddance to these selfish leeches

Lol no never they will keep coming back again and again.
They are the fungus which never really go away.
They lost so many trophies for Pakistan over the years but they are never held accountable for their flop show.

End of an era? You kidding me? Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost! And even now, there’s the Qudrat ka Nizam still in play.

Why Shaheen & Saim are not added in this list? Even Salman also.

No need to get impressed with Shaheen's spell today.

Saim has played 66 T20I and still doesn't know how to launch his innings in T20s, he has no game awareness or game plan.

This T20 WC should be last for Shaheen, Babar, Fakhar, Nawaz, Shadab, Saim

Rizzie next keeper too? Then you just need Hasan Ali and the dream team for next T20 wc

Saim needs to be thrown back to domestic or else he is next Babar in making . Shaheen has been poor whole worldcup barring today . Agha thought he will lead from front but failed with bat and captaincy too . too many passengers there

If only things were so simple

In reality the same cycle that we saw after the 2024 WC will repeat itself.

Roti gang sits out for a few series, get a nice holiday statpadding in a few low level leagues, come back to the side to thump their chests against b/c teams and minnows in the run up to and in the 2028 wc and again get shown their true level against top teams. It's all so tiresome.

Will revisit this thread after the next world cup when all of them are still playing for the Pakistan team

Saim cannot be your opening batsmen with his existing numbers.

For God sake guys, please be sensible.
In any sport the minimum requirement is one able to control nerves.
I have never ever seen more nervous player than Muhammad Nawaz.
Please, please change the whole team or at least Nawaz, Faheem, Fakhar, Shadab and Babar should be playing any more.
But the truth is Pakistan does not have talent at all.
Who else can they bring in? the under-19 are same.
I have watching them for many, many years.
Out of all the matches they lost in the past, 70% is because of their batsmen, 20% bowlers and 10% fielding.
Sorry guys they are simply rubbish.

Exactly this.

Exactly how pathetic Shadab and Nawaz suddenly made it to the team.

Despite YEARS of constant failures against all the good sides, they keep coming back!!!!!

The true railu kattas, truly good at nothing absolute bits and pieces.

Then our captain Salman Ali Agha who doesn’t make the team in the first place is playing as specialist captain. Cannot bat and he is our number 3 lol.

We’ve been saying this for the past decade lol. They aren’t going anywhere especially when talent is dry in Pakistan.

Thank you... Jaan choro bhai

Mohammad Hafeez to Saqlain Mushtaq:

“Please tell me if he [Mohammad Nawaz] is a batting all-rounder or a bowling all-rounder? If he is a batter, then he can take the number 5 spot.”

Saqlain Mushtaq:

He is a bit of both, I think he is very good in both departments. I have used him at number 5, and he has the potential that he can bat. If you win matches with both bat and ball, then it means you are equally good.”

Mohammad Hafeez replied:

“I call myself an all-rounder as I played for Pakistan, but my primary job was to bat well. The captain would tell me that If you don’t score runs in batting, then your four overs in T20, or ten overs in ODIs, we don’t need them. My primary job is batting. In the same way, Nawaz’s primary job is bowling, Shadab’s primary job is bowling, and Saim’s primary job is his batting. If he doesn’t do that, then what’s the point of bringing him in? Everyone must deliver in their primary role.”

We are clearly missing our man players. People will hate to admit it but it’s a fact.

What would Babar have done?

Hit a painstaking 20 off 50 balls before offering catching practice and walking off with a pained expression on his face.

Trust me a 120 ball 70 here would have been match winning.

People are happy seeing team at 40/4 in 10 overs, rather than 30 odd runs without losing much wickets...

Anyway, Babar and Saim were rested and fakhar is rehabilitating, so they will be back soon.

But Babar isn't in good form in ODI either. He would also struggle on these pitches like Rizwana

no worries.. He was rested rightfully.. Both him and saim needed a time off but ODI is their strongest format and they should be picked ahead of anyone else... No doubt

Are we all going to ignore that this guy just sneakily lumped Fakhar Zaman with the other Teletubies……

Neither approach will win you the game. The 30 for 0 approach has been tried for nearly a decade after CT 2017 with no result, isn't it better to try a new approach even if it fail?

Which is better, sticking to the same approach which you KNOW will fail or trying something new which might succeed in the long term?

If Pakistan really want to improve as a cricketing nation they need to reinvent, the old approach will not work in the future, particularly with youngsters of all other country playing more and more agressive cricket.

Adapt or get extinct, those are the only two choices in nature.

Imaam Ul Haq and Fakhar partnership was good.
