His pep talk with Delhi players during IPL is going viral. I must say gave me goose bumps just seeing one of the legends of the game boosting morale of young players like Pant, Rabada, Shaw who were only born when Ponting was in his peak. How lucky are they to have Ponting as coach and sharing his priceless insights.

Delhi Capitals under JSW are promoting their team well. They're the only IPL team I've seen sponsored posts of on Instagram.

I'd love to see more behind-the-scenes stuff like this. Not like it gives away too much that the opponents can make use of.

Ponting has mellowed down a lot. Used be an angry young man in his playing days. Still remember how he abused Srinath after being hit by him off a bouncer in '99 test series.

And that after Srinath was just asking for his well being.

The whole exercise looks superficial, nothing organic. Ponting et al would go a long way in Hollywood.

Changes are expected considering the miserable season Delhi Capitals have had in Indian Premier League 2023. With the David Warner-led side still placed bottom of the points table, speculations are rife over Ricky Ponting's exit as the head coach of the franchise. If that does happen, former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan already has a name in his mind as Ponting's replacement. Pathan, in a chat, suggested that Sourav Ganguly, who is already among the supporting staff in the franchise, should take over the role from Ponting.

Pathan feels that Ganguly is the right person to coach the Capitals as he knows the 'psychology' of Indian players that are there in the team.

"Sourav Ganguly's presence in the Delhi dugout is a big deal. I think if Dada is given the responsibility of coach as well, he can make a big difference in this team. Dada has knowledge of the psychology of Indian players. He knows how to run the dressing room and Delhi should definitely take advantage of that. At the time of the toss, Warner has said that his team has now started preparing for the next season and in this context, it would not be wrong to see Ganguly in a changed role," said Pathan on Star Sports.

This season, DC have been far from their best. With Rishabh Pant out injured, David Warner was given the team's baton. But, the Australian opening batter couldn't get the best out of his teammates, and even himself.

In all likeliness, Pant would return to lead the Delhi franchise next season.

David Warner is way past his prime. Sunriders Hyderabad were smart enough to move him on and Delhi Capital made him their captain immediately. Very poor decision.

He wasn’t too great with his BBL side either I believe.

Great captain. Great leader. Great cricket mind no doubt

Unfortunately, not the most inspiring head coach for T20s it seems

DC looked one of the weakest teams this year that was before I found out they weren't picking Shaw and Rossouw deliberately. Extremely weird selections especially with Warner looking like a faded force. It was basically a team dependent on 4 foreign players.

Aussies are typically good at separating on the field aggression with their regular lives off the field.

It gives them a competitive edge compared to most other countries players.

No reason to be like that now.

Ponting's aggression was real and he justified it with his performance and leadership. Compare that to Kohli's aggression and wicket celebrations which always looked childish. :inti

Srinath was a true gentleman. He was showing genuine concern for Ponting but Ponting rudely asked him to go back to his run up. :inti
