I would love to have believed that but unfortunately today it does'nt look like it. This match is over for pakistan. They could'nt take the pressure, it was probably to much to ask for. Maybe another day they would have done it but not today. When yousuf and inzamam got out pakistan had lost 70 % chances to survive and now with younis out they have lost the remaining 30 % chances too . It's over for pakistan at old trafford.

Well played england, great batting by their batsmen and great bowling by harmision and panesar. Panesar in the second innings has been very impressive. Well deserved victory for england.

Congratulations to english fans; whippy squash, billy, rob h and others here on pakpassion. Enjoy it guys but pakistan will bounce back from this debacle in the last two tests. INSHALLAH

Let the rain sleep on Manchester :D

This was abd week for pakistn sports, In hockey the lost almost everything in the champions trophy.

They lost the world squash team events in the finals to Egypt and now this test seems to have the same fate

Hmm, well, we can redeem ourselves, or the rain can redeem us :D

Now I'm going to sleep - Allah, please let it keep raining, for today, and tomorrow, and day after, PLEASE

all im waiting for is for afridi to come out!!

dont matter if we lose or not

I totally symphatise with you
I hope he scores a quickire double or triple hundred

kaneria is so far a big flop thats the reason why Pakistan arent doing good so far

He bowled 119 overs and conceeded 302 runs with 7 wickets which include Strauss,2 times he got Collingwood and Jones and one time Plunket and Harmisson

Not good enough i am afraid

Yes Yes Yes

3.35pm BST To our releife, the rain has now got a bit heavier, so play won't be starting just yet. We'll keep you in the loop.

Come on Guys do the Rain Dance with Me he he he The memories of Ashes coming back when England was praying for more rain hehe

same here im jus waiting for him to come out! whether he hits a double hundred or goes for 0, its so boring ..bring on afridi

Rain can't save us long from the jaws of ignominious defeat. Be realistic guys don't pray for rain. It's better to go down fighting rather than go out hiding with a cowardice attitude hoping for rain !

It will be nice to see Fasial and Razzak to bat out the day ,Hoping that it will happen, then start out the day on a defensive mode and hang in there till lunch .Then may be theres a little hope for us to save the match.......... Just some wishful thinking on my part.

Now where was that thread about Monty not being good enough to take a 5fer against Pakistan....

I would'nt have bet on Monty doing so well against us, but we always have problems against left arm spinners. On top of that, he did bowl really well in this match.

Thats what we love about the beast

55.3 Pietersen to Shahid Afridi, SIX, great reply from Afridi ? a huge, lofted, delightful six ? Afridi?s turn to smile
55.2 Pietersen to Shahid Afridi, no run, Steve Bucknor grins hugely as he turns down Pietersen?s appeal ? just outside the line

Agree ,oh well lets get done with this one ,and think about the 3rd test and get ready to win and level the series.

Afridi's knock cant help Pakistan now, sadly we are out of this game
Right but lets enjoy it he might be out on the next ball but feel the thrill England cant take it for one over after he gave KP spme stick they brought back Harmy so here is terrorist of cricket for you :))

58.1 Panesar to Shahid Afridi, FOUR, lovely shot from Afridi. Placed into the cover region, a gently lofted, inside-out drive

I agree! Afridi should just play his shots and show how destructive batsman he was, is and will be!

Congrats to England! Played better than us and we batted like pendus.. we deserve to lose

The real reason we're going to lose here, and Big Mac will agree with me, is because we have no Rana to bail us out with his maiden double hundred. :(

hahaha, how is it their fault the others have no bottle?

1) Akmal as opener

2) dropping butt

3) no use of afridi as bowler

4) persisting with sami

5) defensive attitude

It wouldn't have made a difference either way. We would have been better off bringing in Taufeeq.

Regardless of all that, the reason we are going to lose is because our batsman showed no bottle.
