Individual Performance Track - New Era T20I Team (Under Mike Hesson and Salman Ali Agha) [Update@post#178]

None of this makes any sense when the two you are advocating for are PROVEN FAILURES FOR THE TEAM’S BEST INTEREST

How are two crap players who were removed suddenly the solution having not improved at all from the condition in which they were originally dropped????

Where has Babar shown he is regularly striking the ball like Travis Head??? Where has Rizwan shown he is playing all around the park with a sr of 160+???????
And where as Agha, Khushdil, Farhan, Harris, have been batting like Travis head? All of them have much worse strike rates than Rizbar? When they have similar strike rate they have pathetic average in teens?

They are giants fo the game bro... Even phil salt, buttler, travis head, abhishek are like nobodies... AGHA??? Legend.
Khushdil, wowww.... Haris?? LOL
name a person in the current team and laugh

RizBar fans be like:

“Pakistan are batting like RizBar would have batted and scoring the same amount of runs….so let’s bring back RizBar so that Pakistan can bat like RizBar again and score the same amount of runs”

🤡 🤡 🤡 🤡 🤡 🤡 🤡 🤡 🤡 🤡
Shahibzada Farhan out performed Babar to make it into the side.

Their is no reason to assume Babar would have done better then Farhan and wpuldnt have collapsed like a house of cards in asia cup on such pitches

Most people on this forum pushing for Rizbar inclusion are saying that they are much better than those in the team now. But those who are opposing them are comparing them to best of best and finding faults. I don't think anyone believes Rizbar are scary destructive players, but most will agree they are very good players and have better body of work than those playing now.

The growth of the team. Even when winning against sides like Nepal and Zimbabwe no experimentation in dead rubber games. When did Babar and Rizwan sat out of a dead rubber game or came down the order like Surya did?

See I don't have any agenda against any Pakistan player so I am coming from that perspective. Babar turned out to be very timid. After 2021 victory vs India I thought okay, now we have worthy opponents and games will be more interesting. But really disappointed with Babars mental fortitude.
Babar and Rizwan sat out of a T20 series vs Afghanistan last year to give young players chances which they obviously lost.

Babar dropped down to #3 in T20Is to accommodate Saim as an opener. A “badniyat” person will not do that, but no one wants to talk about it because it suit their narrative.

The real “badniyat” person must be a mediocre clown like Agha who made tall claims about showing intent and playing modern cricket but is batting slower than Babar and Rizwan.

No one expects Pak to win against India with or without Rizbar. 8 out 10 times india will win with current talent pool. But they have looked terrible against others. Just look at their stats and how they look when they bat. None of the top order bars will go into any top team with those stats. Even Saim seems outright mediocre. Agha, Farhan, Khushdil etc won't in any other international team apart from may be BD or similar teams. Pakistan has better legacy, setup, ability and pidegree than these batsman.

That legacy wasn't built by those 2 players you are supporting here

Results have been mixed with Hesson-Agha leadership.

Some good results but also some setbacks.

I think they should be given a lengthy run. Frequent chopping and changing is not good. :inti

Babar played in the same league as these intent guys.... his strike rate is low because he failed in 1st one and he did not have to do much in 2nd one because saim did the whole job... But anyway

Top 10 - Most Runs

1768156193605.png

-
Babar Azam has the highest Average (34.33) but poor SR (114).
- Sahibzada Farhan has most runs (831), most sixes (47) and the 2nd highest average (30.77).
- Hasan Nawaz has the highest SR (154) and 2nd most sixes (34).

----------

Now take a look at top performers for each batting position between the start of this new T20I era (16 March, 2025) and now.

Below include the best + 2nd best choice for each batting position till no. 8.

PosBest (Avg/SR)2nd Best (Avg/SR)
1.S Farhan (32/138)F Zaman (18/115)
2.H Nawaz (27/186)S Ayub (24/132)
3.M Haris (37/166)S Agha (35/165)

Side Notes:
Fakhar Zaman batting at 3 has average of 36 and SR of 132.
Usman Khan has batted at no. 6 only 3 times.

-----------

Best on these performances Pakistan's best XI seem to be;

1. Sahibzada Farhan
2. Saim Ayub
3. Mohammad Haris (wk)
4. Hasan Nawaz
5. Salman Agha
6. Shadab Khan
7. Mohammad Nawaz
8. Faheem Ashraf
9. Shaheen Afridi
10. Salman Mirza
11. Abrar Ahmed

If Pakistan wants Fakhar then he plays in place of Saim I guess.
Also if Haris isn't coming back and Keeper is Nafay then Salman has to play at no. 3.

Swap Nafay for Haris and that’s the team. As an aside, you need Hassan Nawaz back in the side not just because of his batting but also because he fields like a lion.

Unpopular opinion, but I would still take Rauf for the World Cup. Yes he goes missing in clutch games but he does take wickets and has that one defining element of speed that none of our other pacers have.

Shaheen (if fit), Salman Mirza and Rauf would be my three pacers, supported by Faheem.

In the batting, that line-up is more than decent. Hassan Nawaz has been thrown away quite ruthlessly.

I whole heartedly agree. Except swap Mirza for Naseem

The players who should definitely be in the Pak team (as a neutral fan) are - Babar, Rizwan, Rauf, Naseem, Fakhar, Shadab and Usman. Maybe even that underrated youngster beauty, Azam Khan, if you can get him.

I don't see india winning if Pak has these players.

He does not have the extreme speed of his youth nowadays. Haven't seen him bowl a single delivery over 150 kph in over 2 years and average speed has declined as well.

Will probably be in the squad but won't start. Don't think Hesson will play 3 full pacers anyway.

It'll be Shaheen, Mirza and Faheem

He is still quicker on average compared to anyone we have right now and most pacers in the world. The guy is brain-dead yes, but he does pick up wickets and he has one of the lowest strike-rates in T20 cricket for Pakistan.

Nice analysis.

I think for some reason Hassan Nawaz is out.

Haris is gone for now too.

The squad we see for this series isn't going to be far off the squad for the world cup.

Main unresolved questions is if Babar slots in there where.

And who is the WK.
