As the reigning champions, England is determined in their aim to clinch a decisive win against Namibia today, keeping their hopes alive for progressing to the Super Eight stage of the T20 World Cup. Despite a match against Scotland being abandoned due to rain and a loss to Australia, England made a remarkable comeback with a victory over Oman by eight wickets.

The commanding win against Oman, where they bowled out the opposition for just 47 runs and achieved the target in merely 3.1 overs, has notably elevated their net run rate (NRR) to +3.08, thereby exceeding Scotland’s +2.16.

England will be playing Namibia in an international match after 7786 days (21y 3m 26d). The only time they played Namibia was in the 2003 CWC on 19th February 2003 at Gqeberha where England won the match by 55 runs

Former England white-ball captain Eoin Morgan:

"You can’t underestimate how much of a confidence booster that result against Oman was – belief is back.

"But with the rain around things will get twitchy if we have a lengthy delay.

"England will be itching to get out there as conditions will suit them - and spinner Adil Rashid. They suit the better side."

Washout is good for South Africa and West Indies since they wouldn't have to deal with England in Super 8.

Still no game. Clock is ticking for England.

They have around 3 more hours to get a 5-over game.

Buttler and Mott will be tempted to get the leafblowers out and dry up the outfield themselves.

What a fail this world cup has been. With each team having just 4 games available to qualify for next stage, some teams playing just 2 to 3 games is just pure rubbish and unfair.

England lost to Australia by a big margin.

Conceded 90/0 in 10 overs vs Scotland. So it's not like they have been the 2nd best side of the pool.

Exactly.

Scotland could've won that game against England had it not been rained out.

So England also out due to 6th team in the group.

What a farce this World Cup has turned out to be. Low scores, sub par pitches, global warming.

June isn’t a good month to hold a tournament in Florida and Caribbean but of course ICC has to accommodate IPL. England doesn’t deserve to be ousted!

England are seemingly out.. So group 2 will look like this ;
West Indies
South Africa
USA
Scotland

Very easy group as 2 non test playing
nations are there.

Group 1 is group of death with India, Australia, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

Group 3 consists of eliminated teams look like ultra death group having Newzealand, England, Pakistan and Bangladesh

Next update at 3 pm local time. 5 overs a side match has to start at 4:46 pm local time

Looks like England will be knocked out too.

Eng, Pak, NZ all knocked out before the business end of this tourney.

Not sure thats the result ICC wanted, you're not going to sell the game to the Americans on the performances of the Americans and the Scots 🤣

Well if India lift trophy everything will be alright for ICC.

Pakistan played against New Zealand, Ireland and England before World Cup and all 4 teams including Pakistan knocked out.

Nature giveth. Nature taketh.

It was rain that saved England in the match against Scotland. Will it be rain again, but this time to equalize the table?

Lol this is pretty tense and not a single ball has been bowled.

there's no further rain, toss will take place at 15:40 Local Time | Ball 1 at 16:00 and it'll be a 11-overs-per-side encounter.

Funny how Ireland-USA couldn't start after 3 hours of no rain.

But this match can start after 30 minutes of no rain.

Apparently the US captain aggressively refused to play and let his side come to the ground. He was deliberately trying to kill time.

Would love England to go through just so that we can see some decent matches in the Super 8.

Already got USA and Bangladesh giving us likely one sided matches.

England players have been seen practicing on the ground and talking to umpires. Don't think anyone even came out of their shed yesterday.

It's a joke. And this is a world cup that's supposedly the biggest deal in the sport.

Dude from last 24 hour there were no rain in Florida yet india - Canada game was called offf . The outfield was very soggy

Good start from Namibia.

Quickly worked out the lengths to bowl with movement on offer. Pakistan's pacers always take too long before adapting their bowling to conditions.

Good to see match happening, so now England has a fair chance to qualify otherwise people won’t stop crying.

Namibia have lost control since the spinners came on. Couple of mistakes in the field too.

England counterattacking.

England have enough already.

Unless it rains again, they're set to win..That demolition job of Oman has given them a lifeline and a half.

The idea of England getting eliminated due to rain and Scotland progressing is very interesting to me
