Yes I know India threw the match on purpise that's why I mentioned this world Cup has been corrupt but the blame doesn't solely go on India because the icc was involved with them

Any chance of Pak qualifying if NZ lose today and Pak beat Bangladesh? How big of a win do we need to kick out NZ?

So let's say the Poms beat the Kiwis by 150 runs. How many runs does Pakustan have to beat the tigers by to qualify for the semis?
 
If England get through, I will support them.
However I reckon Jason Roy's luck is going to run out soon.

Probably the most prejudice camera work I have seen. Nasser Hussain speaking about Pakistan fans wanting NZ win and the camera shows some brown kids wearing NZ shirts. How do you know they are not Indian or Sri Lankan??
 
Flat pitches dont mean runs will come automatically.India started this trend with Rajkot,Chinaswamy etc and now i see them whining.Australia had flat pitches for long now.This WC had variety of pitches due to rain and unpredictable weather.As weather is stabilizing so are the pitches.

Only way you're going to get wickets here is through the batsmen making a mistake.

Honestly, these pitches make one innings completely irrelevant. Why would you want to see your bowlers get smashed around the park and wait for wickets to come through the batsmen making a mistake.

I do wonder how this is reflected in TV ratings.
 
Stokes root Morgan are the batsmen that save england on a difficult pitch. The latter two have problems against seamers and short pitched bowling. They are simply unable to play starc or Shami on bouncy surface
 
Durham was a chasing ground, even when average ODI scores were 250-275, teams chased ~300 targets with plenty at hand left. But, this WC, wickets are totally different than usual English wickets - ENG might have booked SF already.
 
It's all about restricting runs on a pitch like this, there's no chance of getting a wicket.

Why should they play on spinning tracks in England.Btw when they tored India for 3 match Odi series they played spin very well and were very competitive.They also beat us in UAE

England don't deserve to be there either, if they got the same pitches everyone else did I doubt they would have qualified.

Heck, give them a decent pitch against India and they would have been out of the tournament already.
 
Perfect pitch for England's style, but boring for cricket. No contest between bat and ball. They will win the WC if they get conditions like this and bat first in the semi and final.

Everyone is waiting for the chase, only time matches get somewhat interesting on these kinds of wickets.

Most boring game I've watched in the tournament so far.
 
If England score 400 and get Kiwi's all out for 80 odd. Do we still have a chance?
 
Roy is terrific. He has such a huge impact on the game.
 
We were told that Poms don’t have the mentality to cope with pressure and can only win soft games.

Eng stumbled due to no Roy.Pak won CT largely due to Fakhar.Sometimes one player is all needed to make that balance and go from good to being best.I am already seeing Phainta which Nz are recieving due to no Ferguson who was crucial in middle overs.Sometimes one player can make all the difference.

The pitch against South Africa was also challenging and not the easiest to bat fluently on, that seems to be regularly ignored.

The weather has drastically improved in the last week or 2. The pitches have started to reflect that.
 
Really feeling heartbroken :( The hope we got from last 3 matches and then this happened anyways need to learn some harsh lessons.
 
Best thing to happen in this WC is that we qualify at the expense of Nz.Will spice up the 1st SF
 
Let me tell you one thing:

England will have to put 350 plus to win.

There will be a mini-collapse and they will get around the 320 mark.

New Zealand can chase till 320...

Everyone played on different types of pitches throughout the tournament. England have mostly played on flat wickets and have lost on wickets that weren't flat - that includes a loss to SL of all teams...

The pitch vs South africa was a flat deck south Africa bowled brilliantly towards the end to restrict England
 
Either win it for us, kiwis, or just get thrashed to a 200 plus runs defeat. No in betweens..
 
If Pak don't qualify then for second straight time, only India will be in top 4 of wc from Asia. Sad for Asian cricket.
 
i hope semi finals and final are not played on roads like these with parody boundary lengths.
 
Can anyone please calculate the required NRR for us against Bangladesh, if England beats NZ?

I might be wrong, but If England win by 150, I think Pakistan need to beat Bangladesh by 290 runs.

This is based on my earlier calculation that both Eng and Pak needed to win by around 230 each for Pak's NRR to be ahead. So if Eng only win by 150, Pak will need to by 290
