England defeat Pakistan by 7 wickets in the one-off T20I

I still remember PAK team beat England in one of the First T20s in England while Sharjeel and Khalid Latif butchered their bowlers.. Alas they are gone due to their mistakes and we have to deal with young inexperienced lot..

There's no penetration in the bowling attack, no go to bowlers who can stop runs and get wickets. Every bowler gets spanked around for runs which is disappointing to see from a Pakistani side. We need better spin bowlers than Shadab, Imad and Yassir...

Hats of to the team management, its a difficult milestone to achieve even from much lesser teams

Willey was just about to reach the delivery crease when the ground gave way beneath him and a huge hole appeared in the Sophia Gardens turf.

Ground staff were able to repair the damage, apparently the result of a pitch box popping up, but Willey was fortunate that he had escaped serious injury.

Congratulations to the best T20 team in the world and the best T20 captain in the world for losing to an English team without Roy, Bairstow, Buttler, Hales and Stokes.

It’s a one off t20 it doesnt matter right? You love telling us IPL and world t20 is the only form of t20 that matters but you still watched the game and came here to hate. One loss doesn’t mean anything we’re still the number 1 T20 side in the world.

We are lucky we didn't play India since the 2016 World T20. This artificial streak and ranking would have been history ages ago.

Yh the number 5 T20 side really scare us. The T20 series come to us we play them we win them and we’re rightly number 1.

I will post the stats later..

But the key difference is, we are missing bowlers like Ajmal, Hafeez (pre-ban days) and Afridi. When these bowlers choked the Opposition batsmen for 30 overs in ODIs and 12 overs in T20s..... and then fast bowlers took the wickets. Today's bowling attack was missing that.

Plus this is an extremely inexperienced attack.

We have been missing the services of a pre 15 degree Ajmal, Hafeez and the Afridi of 2011 for a while now.

Our bowlers neither take wickets, nor do they bowl economically. Hence excess pressure on our fragile batting side 9 times out of 10 to post a huge first innings score batting first or to chase a mammoth total batting second.

Inexperience or not, our bowling attack has been letting us down for a long long time now. Our batting cannot get better than this and at best will post or chase par totals.

What excuse do our opening pace bowlers have for being consistently ineffective with the new ball and for our darting, non turning spinners to be ineffective in the middle overs. Why does Pakistan waste the new ball with Imad?

Shane Warne will blame the bowlers for the predicament that Pakistan finds itself in. They have been allowed to get away with mediocrity for a long time now.

The bowlers largely bowled ok, the issue is Cardiff is a tiny ground, with the boundaries brought in a lot more. Pakistan batted well enough, England simply batted better with a one of a kind innings from Morgan, who looked more fired up than ever before. Never before has an English captain and team wanted LOI glory like this one.

If we think Pakistan are the only side to be beaten like this, just look at England's recent history and I guarantee you, they will do this again and again in the world cup.

Mickey and Sarfraz have to be smarter and identify their weak spots. They clearly know their bowling hasn't been doing well since 2017 yet keep batting first.

This bowling can't even defend 320 in a 50 overs game let alone 270 or 280. Only solution? Try to chase as much as possible and take the game in your own hands. These young bowlers usually do better when there is no score to defend.

The way things are we might yet see Amir, Shinwari in.

Because they have to otherwise teams will outscore us every time with this bowling line up. Till we don't learn how to take wickets with the new ball or don't get quality spinners batting first will always be a disadvantage.

It should be more comfortable knowing what has to be done on these belters. In Asia I understand that it can be tricky batting in the middle overs with the slow nature of the wicket. We won chasing in SA as well on a good wicket.

Same story.... we don't have those three spinners anymore.

Our spinners used to get 3-4 wickets per match ..... now they get only 1.50 to 2.

You're comparing 5 t20s with 19. Look at 2018. 2.68 is amazing over 19 t20s. In 2011, only 5 matches were played. Do better next time.

Same story.... we don't have those three spinners anymore.

Apart from this year, those numbers are very good in t20.

Obviously not having aj Al and the other spinners is a worry.

The best combination for Pakistan is 3 pace bowlers and 2 spinners. Something like imad, shadab, hasan, junaid and shaheen.

Amir should have played, he is good in T20's. He is super economical and we needed someone else as everyone else gave runs away easily apart from Imad Wasim
