Pakistan's cricket board is facing a problem. They can't find a TV partner to broadcast their matches against England, starting October 7.

Usually, Sky Sports shows Pakistan's cricket matches in the UK, but they're not interested this time. Now, Pakistan's cricket board might have to sell the rights for a lower price or risk no one watching the matches in the UK.

As per media reports, They asked companies to bid, but no one offered enough money. The highest offer was $7.8 million, which is much lower than the $21 million they wanted.

This is what happens when you overestimate the quality of your stars to display.

How can you fetch such a poor bid when you apparently have the greatest batsman in Pakistan history, the greatest wicket keeper+batter in Pakistan history and the greatest seamer in Pakistan history currently playing for you?

Sky Sports agree cut-price last-minute deal to save England clash from TV blackout

ENGLAND'S upcoming Test series against Pakistan is set to be shown by Sky Sports, reports suggest.

The series, due to start on October 7, had failed to find a home on television.

However, The Times are now reporting that Sky Sports are set to secure a late deal to shown the games and prevent a TV blackout.

Sky Sports have been in talks with the Pakistan Cricket Board to ensure the three-match series will be accessible to viewers in England.

It's understood a deal has been struck after the PCB lowered the rights fee for the series.

Sky then managed to reach an agreement, with the deal set to be announced in the coming days.

The BBC is also expected to announce a deal of its own.

They have reportedly secured a deal to ensure that Test Match Special can broadcast all three games.

The first Test will be held in Multan from October 7-11.

The second Test will remain in the same location as part of a revised plan from October 15-19.

The third Test will then be held in Rawalpindi from October 24-28.

ECB Chief Executive Officer Richard Gould said: "We're really excited to be returning to Pakistan for this three-match men's Test tour in October.

"Our last men's Test tour of Pakistan produced some memorable matches and I'm sure fans can look forward to more exciting cricket across this forthcoming series."

The Test squad departs on Tuesday, just days after a damp one-day series defeat to Australia.

If you don’t invest in the youth players then you will not make stars who then can earn you money , simple thing to understand if PCB actually want to.

They are still relying on odd prodigy to appear out of nowhere without any coaching or any system and make them earn money.

That is what happens when you are a poor team with absolute zero star quality players. But Pakistanis think that Babar is some superstar :ROFLMAO:

Thank God it’s not on YouTube or something like that

Sky sports will be showing it

Consortium of TransGroup and ARY awarded international broadcast rights for Pakistan v England Test series

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) today confirms that the consortium of TransGroup and ARY has been awarded international broadcast rights for the three-match Test series between England and hosts Pakistan starting later next week in Multan and Rawalpindi.

The rights were awarded following a transparent tender process.

Meanwhile, the PCB confirms the star-studded commentary panel for the Test series set to begin on 7 October at the Multan Cricket Stadium. Former England Test captains David Gower, Michael Atherton and Nasser Hussain will return to Pakistan as commentators for this series, having previously covered the three Tests between Pakistan and England in December 2022. They will be joined by Test cricketer Ian Ward as the voices from England. The Pakistani voices include former Test captains Aamir Sohail and Ramiz Raja, Test cricketer Bazid Khan and former Pakistan women’s team captain Urooj Mumtaz. Zainab Abbas will serve as the series presenter.

The three Tests will be beamed all around the globe through 28 full High-Definition cameras, including the buggy cam, drone cam and complete Hawk-Eye review system.

The series also sees PCB’s PitchSide Studio make a return, which will be hosted by presenter Zainab Abbas, providing viewers an access to insights during pre- and post-match shows.

The series will be live broadcast in Pakistan region on A-Sports, Ten Sports and PTV Sports, while it will be live-streamed on Tamasha. BBC Sport (United Kingdom) will be radio partners for the series. For UK region, Sky Sports will broadcast the series, while other broadcast details of remaining regions will be announced in due course.

Former England captain Nasser Hussain, while talking to a local UK sports media channel:

"Mark Wood is injured, he had a huge role to play out there last time. Jimmy Anderson has retired."

"I think someone like Brydon Carse can do that Mark Wood role. I was impressed with Carse in the white-ball cricket."

"I thought he had good rhythm and good pace."

"It really depends on what sort of pitches Pakistan produce. In the recent series they produced a couple of green-tops, so then the seamers will come into play."

"The likes of Atkinson, who was the player of the summer, for me, for England - obviously with bat and ball."

"But Brydon Carse, he's got a lot of pace and if they're the flat pitches that England played on last time, then you're going to need that express pace as well as skill, and Carse provides that."

"In the spin department, you've got Bashir, Rehan Ahmed and Jack Leach."

"I was watching some of the Somerset games towards the end of the summer and Leach looked like he had really, really good rhythm in those actually."

"He's obviously missed out because of Bashir, his Somerset team-mate, going past him but I think he's done a really good job for Somerset and he had a good tour out there last time."

"Pakistan are always a mercurial side that have ups and downs, but at the moment, they're on a real low, in all formats."

"They didn't have a great (T20) World Cup. They've got another coach-captain combination in Jason Gillespie and Shan Masood, their star batter Babar Azam hasn't got a half-century in his last eight Test matches and has just given up the white-ball captaincy."

"But you'd be a fool to say that going to Pakistan and winning is an easy job to do. They're a very proud cricketing nation, they won't like the slump that they're in, and they will still be a force at home."

"I think all eyes will be on Pakistan and whether they can up their game, because I think we sort of know what we're going to get from Ben Stokes and his team."

They can't accommodate everyone. The PCB sold the international rights at a loss
PCB netted some serious profits in the FY23, I doubt the series has been at a loss.
An operating profit of US$ 11 million from a total revenue of US$60 million. That's quite a decent ratio.

England should take the new ball Nasser Hussain:

"I would definitely take the new ball. In the context of the series, you want to keep one man down, and that is Babar Azam. He’s been opened up a little bit off the back foot. Squaring him up, nicking him off behind with the new ball may have consequences in the series.

"You want to keep great players down as long as possible, and not see Babar coming back tomorrow morning fresh on 30 not out. I’d take the new ball just for the possibility of getting him out tonight."

Loss of revenue is not because of lack of talent or lack of star players.

Loss of revenue is because of fear of loosing due to which flat pitches are prepared which results in boring draws which no one is interested to watch.

It'll be interesting to see what the TV viewership is like for this series.

Sometimes I wonder if Ramiz is even following the game closely? Uninterested, biased, generic statements and very little intelligent game insights. He's never been a genius cricketing brain, but at least show some commitment to the job.

Ramiz makes my ears bleed. When he's on commentary I mute the cricket and listen to some music.

He talks almost exclusively in cliches now. And watching a test match really exposes how bad his commentary is. In white-ball cricket atleast he gets out of the comms box after 5 overs.

He is out of commentary form these days

Bazid Khan trolling someone:

"It seems that the message that was sent from the dressing room to Shaheen has been lost in translation"

England can turn pressure back on Pakistan'
Sky Sports' Michael Atherton:

"The second day has belonged to Pakistan, they're in the box seat right now.

"If England can whittle away at that lead tomorrow morning and get themselves within sniffing distance of that Pakistan innings then that pressure reverses back onto Pakistan for the third innings which for the last four Test matches they've been really vulnerable."
