England v India | Match 38, World Cup | Edgbaston | 30th June, 2019 | Match Thread

Big lesson for India from today's phainty - Don't play both spinners on flat patta.

Not angry, just sad. Honestly I think the majority tried to win the match. Would have been totally understandable if they'd not gone for the total and just played out I understand. But they didn't, they went for it. Only for Jadhav and Dhoni to turn around and suddenly not go for it. The intent was just gone for the last few overs. I don't think it was to knock Pakistan out. It was probably to just get good NRR, and obviously Jadhav and Dhoni don't want to look bad, swinging and missing if they didn't have to, solidify their place. But with so few overs and so few runs, thought they would have at least gone for it in that situation. Guess not.

We were favorites in 87, played professional cricket but unfortunately stumbled in the semifinal. That World Cup should have been the defining moment of Pakistan cricket history, and it could have ushered an era of professionalism.

Unfortunately, we won in 92 and started believing in miracles, magic, unpredictability and cornered tigers nonsense that have severely hampered the growth of Pakistan cricket.

In 83, India produced a bigger cornered tigers moment than Pakistan, but they didn’t allow it to define their cricket, because they knew how success is achieved and what it takes to be a consistently great side.

Indian society trajectory is different, real changed was caused by IT work force needed by west. Working with west in relatively large numbers has transformed Indian society. Indian learned Professionalism by working with west on technology. Now they have strong and vibrant pocket of professional culture, their cricket is direct beneficiary of what they learned over there.

There is still strong pocket of India which drive energy from Faith, even those guys focus on professionalism when it come to working more so than what people imagine.

Pakistan has suffered from key investments gone horribly wrong. Investment in Faith has not paid off, it has messed up big time. We are not willing to analyze it rationally, we are digging the hole deeper and deeper

Sometimes . . Just sometimes . . I think you should probably give it to the others to. . Both commentators commenting are saying the same thing . . They are not all dumb . . Neither is everyone else other than you . . It's a strange chase . . We don't know what the intent was . . And by all means, it may have been fine . . Whether you want to accept that this was a weird chase or not, it's upto you . . But You sounding patronizing wouldnt change the fact this is was a strange chase . .

Knowing you have already qualified and if lost would help knockout your archrivals doesnt really inspire much...

Is this what you want to hear?;-)

That made my day when dhoni refused to give the strike to jhadav

Congratulations to England.
India's winning streak against them is over.First defeat since 92.

Grandpa actually played faster than a 21 year old lala jee lol. Pant was 15(15) at one time

yes that is why he got booed by the crowd. lol 3 overs of no intent. suddenly 1 six hahaha. Ask any cricket expert. Probaly 999 out of 1000 people would admit that was one of the crappiest WC innings. You are the other person.

60 runs in last 10 overs while still having wickets at hand. Shows you what the f happened here.

77 in 6 teams have won matches from there. It was a one dimensional attack bowling everything slow. These guys hardly lifted the bat above the knee for 3 overs.

The game exposed India's over rated Hitters down the order, poorly paced innings.

Weird the way india went about things in last 7/8 overs. No intention whatsoever to win.

Because the Uncle brigade was not potent enough to give it a try. It's better for them to stay not out, and improve their stats.
MSD is untouchable because of the 6 he hit to win 2011 WC & there is a guttural bolly movie on him, but Kedar???? Does he even deserve a place in the team! Glad that Shankar is out. Now waiting for a toe niggle for Kedar. KL is another DK in the making.

Hypothetically speaking if India lost deliberately, would they really be so petty to do it intentionally to wreck Pakistan's hopes for the semi's?

Ganguly is right. you don't lose a match with 5 wickets in hand chasing this total. That too when they were around 240 after 40 overs.

Saying that is a complement towards Dhoni's innings lol Grandpa and midget CSK partner are not good enough.

This match is very fishy.

ICC should investigate it but we know they will never do it.

Ignore, he just meant to rile you up guys. :D

Hypothetically speaking, If the umpire had not conspired and given Imad LBW out as he was, we wouldn't even be having this discussion.
