You mischaracterize, I don't want him out: he is selected so he has to play. I am simply pointing out that every time he has been dropped he has earned it. As for selectors, their job is to identify and invest in back ups.
I have yet to hear any of them say umar akmal is the best that we can do: on his current form, that would be a truly frightening thought.
This little exchange is not about who the replacements are, it's about this confusion about why junior has been in and out of the team.

Brilliant performance indeed by Pakistan and especially Misbah, umar, haris and sohaib maqsood. I started watching the match via SKYFIRE APP and through crictime streaming site and at that time Pakistan were on 106/4 with misbah and umar battling it out. If Pakistan can bat like this throughout the world cup then our chances certainly rank right up there to have a successful world cup.

Once again openers missed out and younis khan yet again amongst poor scores which only is solidying the argument/ narrative that he does'nt belong in ODI format. By now misbah and team management must know what their best playing eleven is.

If younis khan is dropped then sohaib maqsood should keep his place. I don't believe nasir jamshed will prosper in this world cup, just look at his dismissal today where he offered no footwork before getting out in the slip cordon. Pakistan's best combination is to play sarfraz as opener with shezhad and promote sohaib maqsood at one down followed by haris, umar, misbah, afridi e.t.c.

Was impressed with sohail khan's figures( i did'nt watch Pakistan's bowling) and yasir shah's performance which was very promising MA SHA ALLAH. Wahab was'nt expensive as he has been in previous matches so that was encouraging but he is not bagging enough top order wickets which is concern. Pakistan will have to pick different bowling combination probably against different oppositions. Having said that i believe bilawwal bhatti despite is horrid performance againt kiwis (0-93) in his previous warm match needs to be given another chance cause we seriously lack a allrounder who can bowl well and bat well.
