So a convincing 31 run win - will Pakistan retain the same XI?

Hassan Ali could be fit so I feel Rauf needs to sit it out because Hasnain looked really good.

Your thoughts?

Rauf bowled a brilliant last over, but it was his only good over. If fit Hassan Ali should come in for him. Hasnain made himself undroppable for this 2nd match with his performance.

Absolute. Shadab probably gets retained for his brilliant fielding today and late wickets he took in his last over.

Batting from everyone was on point and exactly what I expect from our team.

They look so much of a threatening side when we play attacking cricket.

Need to keep this momentum to West Indies. And beyond World Cup.

Rauf is crucial. He is a better death bowler than Shaheen and Hassan

The only change I would go for is Sharjeel Khan in for Azam Khan

Our team yesterday was an absolute powerhouse, but I love [MENTION=147214]YousafTheBeast[/MENTION] 's idea of bringing in Sharjeel Khan....You can't go wrong with more fire power. Also, Maqsood at 3 is a very very solid choice.

Babar
Rizwan
Maqsood
Hafeez
Fakhar
Sharjeel
Azam
Shadab
Hassan
Shaheen
Hasnain

That is a mouth watering team, and each batsman basically has a license to go all out.

i would swap shadab khan for hasan ali, and make sure h.ali bows his preferable middle overs

wouldn't you say by having sharjeel / azam /hasnain - we have too many poor fielders, as the english pitchers are very batting friendly -like the game today

Yea you're not wrong, but as long as they hold onto the catches that come their way and don't leak major runs, it should be okay imo

We are playing one batsman too many. Hassan Ali can replace Azam Khan.

Well done to you for picking 3.5 bowlers. We cant even defend 300 in 20 overs with that bowling attack.

We've seen it a million times by now - Hasnain will almost certainly recieve phainty in the next game. He may have got most of his balls in the right area today but like Rauf he isn't capable of doing that over the long term.

Whilst Waqar is coach the fast bowlers are learning nothing. Therefore Hasnain will follow up a good day by getting thwacked on Sunday like always.

There's no 5th bowler in your 11

Fakhar and Hafeez dont bowl much

Azam Maqsood Hasnain and Sharjeel are all terrible fielders

-Not sure what Azam can do that Sharjeel can’t do better

Shaheen Shah Afridi speaking to the press

"When you lose a series, a lot is said about you by others and when you win a match like this one then people praise you; I feel that when you lose, you do need some support from everyone; I would like everyone to support us when we have tough times"

"Our victory in the 1st T20I was a team effort, from out batting to bowling and also when it came to fielding and we as a team are feeling very good that we won the first match of the series"

"The start that Babar and Rizwan gave us helped set-up the 200+ score and the other batsmen made sure we got there; It was a great effort by our batsmen on a high-scoring ground where 190 is an average score"

"It's not a question of coaches getting angry with us [based upon our last performance], our coaches are great as they always support us as you can get bad days in cricket and when that happens we all need support which they have given to us"

"They supported us and thanks to the Almighty we won and we will look to take this positive momentum forward into the remaining games"

"It was good to see that our boys put in the effort tonight - we didn't feel too good after losing the ODI series but we have been boosted by this win"

"Livingstone played an excellent innings and it was our intention to keep him off the strike, and our captain did well to make changes to the bowling and Shadab got him out in the end, and once again this was due to good planning and is a credit to our team effort"

Hasan Ali can come in .Maybe for Rauf

Also if Fakhar is playing,he has to open

Azam Maqsood Hasnain and Sharjeel are all terrible fielders

I had Hafeez as my 5th bowler, sort of replacing Imad....They both more or less offer the same things.

The terrible fielders is a valid argument, but my reasoning is that as long as they're catching the ball and not being gully level with the bowl in the field, then they're good.

What are the wicket dimensions, Maybe Qadir or Nawaz can come in for Imad. As i think English batters find it easy to hit his dartersss.

Strong batting lineup but 1 bowler short, Pak need to attach if 2 or 3 wicket down still like Eng did.

It's going to be extremely tough for England to win the next two games with that bowling attack. Curran, Gregory and Parkinson are as mediocre as they come in T20 cricket. Saqib looks more like a longer format bowler like Shami, Woakes etc.

Outside of Archer and Wood, England's fast bowling stocks look bang average in white ball cricket.

I reckon this team could be even better if we bring in a specialist spinner, replace him for Azam Khan. Hassan Ali is a very good power hitter, and I’d back him to be just as destructive as Azam Khan.

Rizwan/Sharjeel
Babar Azam
Sohaib Maqsood
Mohammad Hafeez 6
Fakhar Zaman
Sharjeel Khan/ Rizwan
Hassan Ali 5
Shadab Khan 4
Haris Rauf 3
Shaheen Afridi 2
Usman Qadir 1

6 bowling options, Hafeez with the first over could be lethal

Should play with the same combination

It might be worth opening with Fakhar and Rizwan. If Babar goes early then it is a huge loss for Pakistan..

All three games up in the North of England where there is plenty of Pakistani support - Nottingham, Leeds and Manchester

Need another seamer. The t20 pitches in England are unforgiving. Hasan in for Azam or Imad maybe.

This is a poor team from a bowling perspective. Only 4 bowlers , ( Hafeez rarely bowls ). You need at least 5 bowlers. It’s not just about putting a score on the board , also need to have the options to defend a score or restrict .

Imad mediocre wasim has to be dropped hasan ali is better t20 batsman than imad garbage wasim.

My line up one change should be Hassan Ali in for Rauf

Babar
Rizwan
Fakhar
Hafeez
Maqsood
Azam Khan
Imad
Shadab
Hassan Ali if fit
Husnain
Shaheen

1. Rizwan
2. Babar
3. Maqsood
4. Fakhar
5. Hafeez
6. Azam
7. Imad
8. Hasan Ali
9. Qadir
10. Hasnain
11. Shaheen

Probably Sharjeel deserves to be over Azam on merit, at least he actually has some domestic/PSL performance. But I'd play Azam instead due to other reasons. Plus when Haider returns I'd play him there at 6 over both of them.

I wouldn't really change a winning XI unless it demands a change through injury or rotation. However, I think that Hasan Ali will be a good change. On these wickets, yorkers are very useful, but slower-balls are also good, and Hasan Ali has the best variations out of our pacers. However, he is coming back from an injury, so I would not risk it.

Babar Azam (c)
Mohammad Rizwan (wk)
Sohaib Maqsood
Fakhar Zaman
Mohammad Hafeez
Azam Khan
Imad Wasim
Shadab Khan (vc)
Haris Rauf
Shaheen Shah Afridi
Mohammad Hasnain

I would like to see more yorkers in the powerplay, and also some more wide slower-balls towards the longer side of the boundary.

Only one change is needed for the next game.Usnan Qadir or Hassan Ali should come in for Imad.

Shouldn't alter batting upto 6
Then
7 Imad
8 Hassan Ali
9Usman Qadir(definitely better than shahdab)
10 Shaheen
11 Hasnain
I sincerly believe that Shoaib Malik should be considered for world T20 as it is to be played now in UAE,where u require best batters against spin which I believe only Shoaib Mal k and Hafeez plays very good

Bad news for Pakistan! England hitting the panic button as am sure for all the talk of rotation etc, they do not want to lose a series

Jos Buttler will return to the England side for the second T20 international against Pakistan on Sunday after recovering from a calf injury.

Buttler has not played since the first T20 against Sri Lanka on June 23 but will regain his place at the top of the order at Emerald Headingley as England look to level the three-game series against Pakistan at 1-1 after losing a run-fest at Trent Bridge on Friday night, with Liam Livingstone's 42-ball century - an England record - coming in vain.

Paul Collingwood - standing in as England head coach with Chris Silverwoood taking a break - said there could be other changes in Leeds as the team look to give out chances ahead of the T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates and Oman later this year.

Collingwood also hinted that leg-spinner Matt Parkinson could retain his place - the 24-year-old having been given an opportunity in Nottingham with premier spinner Adil Rashid rested.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Collingwood said: "We have Jos fit again and he is ready to go so he will come back into the side.

"It will be good to see Jos back in the ranks. He has experience and we all know what he can do at the top of the order.

"We are desperate to win the games but at the same time there is experimenting going on because we have to give guys opportunities, it's as simple as that.

"There are not many games before the T20 World Cup and we want to make sure every single position in the side is covered and we understand what every player who is backing up the other players can do.

"It's important to give Parky [Parkinson] a good chance. He has travelled around with us for long periods and not played a lot of cricket and we have to see what he is like in every situation. Adil will come back into the frame but it's still important to see what Parky can do.

"He has had a good start in the one-day series [which England won 3-0] and bowled very well but T20 is a completely different game where you are put under pressure from ball one."

Collingwood played down concerns regarding Jonny Bairstow's fitness after the wicketkeeper was hit on the finger while he attempted a catch in the series opener.

The former England batsman is also not worried about Eoin Morgan's batting form despite the captain passing 20 just once in his last 11 T20 international knocks.

Collingwood said: "Jonny has a bit of bruising on the finger but he seems fine. Everyone is fit and raring to go."

On Morgan, who has principally batted at No 5 or No 6 during his lean run, Collingwood added: "We all know what Morgan can do. He can play an innings as good as what Livingstone played.

"Sometimes in T20 cricket, it takes one shot to get yourself off and running. I have no concerns with Eoin's form and what I do know about him is that he will not die wondering.

"He won't eat up balls. He will go out there, try to score boundaries and try to get himself back into form that way."

England lost to Pakistan by 31 runs in the series opener, bowled out for 201 in 19.2 overs as they replied to the tourists' massive total of 232-6.

Collingwood says his side "weren't anywhere near their best" at Trent Bridge but says the game will stand them in good stead going into the T20 World Cup.

"World Cups aren't easy. There are lots of destructive sides out there and that's where these kinds of games, against a strong Pakistan side, will help us build a squad and build experiences that we can draw upon in knockout stages at World Cups," said Collingwood, who captained England to the T20 World Cup title in the Caribbean in 2010.

"We didn't play our best match, we weren't anywhere near our best, but still gave ourselves a chance to win so hopefully that experience will sharpen us up.

"You can't be too harsh as the majority of that side have been in 10 days of isolation but there are no excuses looking forward."

The only change I would go for is Sharjeel Khan in for Azam Khan

We need to try Azam out as a finisher. Also Fakhar can adapt as a late order player as he is a good hitter against spin but not so sure about Sharjeel. The only way to accommodate him is Babar bats at 3 and every one moves one position down.

Have to play Usman Qadir he is a wicket taker

Yes. Only way to beat England is to keep taking wickets. The only way he comes in in place of Imad. So to compensate losing the batting of Imad we must also bring in Hasan Ali for Rauf.

Who are your bowlers mate?..with Hafeez forever in line to be banned any minute?

I cant understand England's policy of choosing bowling on winning the toss irrespective of the opponent. It common knowledge that Pakistan is uncomfortable chasing even modest totals. England being inflexible almost seems like arrogance.

I think we know enough about Misbah now that he won't change the team for tomorrow's game.
