What's new

England v Sri Lanka | 1st Test | Galle | Mar 26-30, 2012

lol england, losing to a mediocre team like lanka. FFS they even lost series at home to an Aussie team that had the likes of Hughes and MJ

India needs Bhajji and Ashwin duo to tackle England when they turn up here. Make rank turners and rope in Ojha too. England wont survive 40 overs per innings :D

And then Sehwag with his wham bam!! :))

SL 212/9.. Lead by 337 :))

I guess greeks will open a thread to rant england and how they suck in SC

Game's long gone. Even then we should remember this is all down to the batters. And 341 will surely be too much for them again.

Ironic trumpet guy playing The Imperial March. LOL!

LOL, Terrible by England, I'd have kept bowling and hope for a freak rainstorm.

If we start batting, I wouldn't back ourselves to last the day, let alone till that freak rainstorm.

SL 214 all out. England need 340 runs.

And anderson once again goes wicketless in SC. :D

The Sri Lankan seamers will collect the odd scalp but they aren't great really. All about Herath

Good start by England against Rango.

Sri Lanka still firmly in the box seat.

Their fielding isn't great though. Something to consider.

Do any of you lot reckon that if a single batsmen from England was to assert himself towards the spinners, that by example, there'd be a rise in the confidence of the entirety of the batting order. I hesistate to think this is a case of mere ineptitude to spin bowling, I'd say it's an issue of confidence. I'd hardly think a side which is so comprehensive in its preparations as England would not have corrected their mistakes or become alert to them at the very least. I'd say it's only a matter of implementing these corrections, and lack of confidence is hindering this.

I agree, it's all in the head. Or lack thereof of anything in there recently.

Quite a large crowd in for the PAk vs SL baseball encounter, didn't know it was that popular

P.s- Iran came in third.. LOL with Afghanisan fourth

On the baseball game, both Pakistan and Srilankan batsmen all out in the first innnings without being able to make it to first base hahah

They were 40-1 in the first innings too...
yeah, but they collapsed.

If you get to 50/1 it's a goodish start in my opinion. And on a difficult pitch 40/1 is pretty good.

Next milestone is 100/2, but they've already got one more out. So England in trouble now.

really surprised by batting. Thought England to be better, and learnt from their mistakes. Thought Sri Lanka would be a lot better (except the jayawardenes who did well), given they have three players who average over 50 and are playing at home.

With so much cricket being played nowadays players jumping continents every week, theyre probably just too tired, bored, simply don't care that much anymore or a combination of all. Mind you unlike all other games that last max around 2 hours, this is 8 hours. Something's gotta give.

This different pitch for different countries thing is wrong, all pitches should be the same everywhere, Imagine Argentina coming to Namibia and losing 20-0 in football due to the ground r (insert something about tennis here cuz nothing currently comes to mind) Its just not kosher for the world champions to be exposed or humiliated like this, Then we'll get rid of terms like flat track bullies, green grass bullies or what have you.
