Herath might replace Prasad today to give the bowling attack extra penetration. Plus, Prasad kept bowling too short in Durham where you had to pitch it up.

I doubt we're going to get a game in today. Weather forecast looks horrible.

The weather looks unpleasant up in Manchester. We won't get 100 overs in, I think. Time for Duckbill-Platypus to come out to make another incomprehensible calculation..........

Two changes for SL......Reporting live from OT

No reduction in overs - shorted break of 20 mins

Anderson getting the ball to seam away from the left hander straight up.

Anderson seaming the ball away and nips one back to Dilshan.....Good catch by Butler.... BREAKING NEWS *****Saj joins me in the press box.....

BOUNDARY 4***** Thirimanne pierces the gap at point on the back foot.

****WICKET**** Anderson bags his 2nd as Thirimanne advances to try and cuts over the infield to be caught behind by Buttler - 13-2.

Chance missed as Anderson shy goes wide of an 'open net'

New ball at both ends darting about now. Difficult batting conditions, but no better than 2 SL stalwarts to fight for their side at the crease.

Gurney off and replaced by Jordan.
Spell of 4 overs for 14 runs.

Powerplay over - 28/2. 3 boundaries scored with 48 dot balls.

England win that round.

Anderson continues. Yes ChaudrySaab I agree

Short - wide - 4. Enough said. Sanga collects his 12561st ODI run and ends his innings with a very lazy looking drive and Buttler snaffles his 3rd catch of the day.

Gurney to replace Anderson whose 7 overs were top class and rewarded him with 2/10.

Chandimal drives low down to Bell at cover.....another poor shot on the eve of the drinks break.

All going for England as Tredders comes up trumps first ball with a wicket.

Skipper Matthews asks for a review. He seems uncertain, Jordan doesn't. Front foot is fine. Looks like a poor review for Angelo so far

Hotspot showed nothing though.

60-6. Ouch. Can SL bat out their overs?

Jimmy is a monster in these conditions. Gurney is looking like Statham or Rodney Hogg.

England should just have to tick over to win this but you never know with them!

Oh dear - Now a run out and as I just say to Saj, SL will do well to bat 30 overs, Jordan takes his 4th......Kulasekera caught by Tredwell at 2nd slip.

65/9

Yikes. Must be a horrendous pitch to bat on

England getting their revenge at least

Senanayake batting in short sleeves lofts to sub fielder Woakes stationed at long on first ball.

9 down for 65.

Malinga walks out as 3 wickets have fallen on 65 and lost 4/5 since Matthews departure.

Sri Lanka played very well in similar conditions the other day at Durham, so can only assume it's an off day for them.

No Donal nothing wrong with the wicket - good toss to win under cloudy conditions and earlier drizzle.

Poor batting actually.

Jordan takes his maiden ODI 5 wicket haul as SL capitulate to their lowest ever ODI total v England.

10 mins to turn around and then England come to bat.

I think many people will be paying double to be able to watch this #Botham.

A fine response by England to the Durham reverse (so far)......

wow wow wow wow wow...I thought Englands 99 was bad and I just had a look at the scorecard and my word :)))

Sri Lanka are garbage in bilaterals. Truly a team for the big stage.

I dedicate this crushing victory to her Majesty The Queen of England and all her loyal subjects around the world!

Three cheers for the Empire!

Next time someone says that Associates shouldnt play FM's because games are too one sided i can just show them this game and the 2nd one in this series...

Saj is enjoying his scones and cream/jam no end.

England avenge their Durham defeat in great style. Lots of SL to think about, in their application at the crease and how to build an innings. Very poor today and better to get it out of the system.

Someone gets a present of the match ball in the crowd as the game ends emphatically to England who go 2-1 up in the series.

Well batted Ian Bell! Maybe time to update your profile pic though!
