Justice for Windies.

Collingwood - another with IPL on his mind probably is caught at slip

Fidel with his 3rd.

109-4

nope....had it been bopara ..it was justice.........every run ravi scors will be a bonus for eng......

England should be 5 down here ffs!

Come on windies!

I dont understand why referal system aint been used in all series.

Prior survives a possible slip catch chance - just wide of the fielder!

Benn looking good

Matt Prior averaging close to 50 after 17 matches. That is not bad.

Eng recovering somewhat after that Fidel blitz!

182-4 [Tea]

Ravinder & Prior still there

prior seems good enough to play as a batsmen alone. He cant keep to save his life though!

Bravo was considered not fit enough to play tests but ok for IPL! stupidity at its best.

England 5 down.

Edwards has 4!

Bopara still in and Broad has joined him!

Windies fielding is a joke.

Now Gayle drops it at 1st slip - and then 2nd slip drops the rebound!

Thats 3 EASY dropped catches off the bowling of Fidel!

Ravinder moves onto 96*

4 away from the 'honours board'

You gotta feel for Gayle, must be a bit too cold for the poor chap, he only arrived from SA 2 days ago, it's not very fair on him.

Bopara has dug in today after been given a huge life when he was plumb LBW.

Onto 97* now.

Poor from the English batsmen today, except for Bopara. The conditions are nothing to fast bowlers here, and they loose five wickets for 230. Fidel has done superbly.

Windies fielders somehow managing to lower their fielding standards even further than normal, 6 chances down now.

Devon Smith who's one of the best catchers in world cricket has joined the party.

Last over of the day, really poor from both sides today no conviction or anything.

Lets's review shall we : -

West Indies bowling with no convition, feilding was poor to say the very least and only one bowler brought the goods and that's none other than Fidel.

England really did not carry on the front foot, no convition in the stroke play, very lucky batsmen which should have been caught, weren't, Bopara the only Englishman to score, defensively England were very poor.

So at the end of the first day WI's have the edge IMO.

also on TMS, Phil tufnell couldn't remember any of his first ball ducks in the test matches. He had 4 apparently.

W.I won toss and bowling 1st would have been justified if they had bowled england out. 7 drop catches on day 1 is a joke.

Nearly 300 and conditions allowing for some swing england will be happy.

Good day for Bopara. Gooch and Hussain rate him highly and he had some classy strokes and calmness about him today. Was very impressed.

After what he's smoked all his life, I'm surprised he even remembers playing for England!

No - lost reception after a while!

He had a go at his objectivity and that of other IPL players along with Strauss and other England for not being more authoritative either.

Basically saying that KP et al will only really present one side of the arguement, they will never admit that T20/IPL will affect their test form because that would be like biting the hand that feeds them.

On the other hand if a guy like Strauss sees it as a problem, he is not the type of character who will make a big issue of it and bring problems to the dressing room.

He has a point.

Although it doesn't seem to be affecting Ravi though.

I think W.I need to mop up tail tmoz and then get down to some solid batting!

KP also started slow in IPL, the biggest tournament there is. Because of his presence Dravid played a lot better. He will be okay. Sacrifices have to be made to win the T20 WC

W.I need to mop up tail quickly here. England adding valuable runs here!

Can't believe they've gone off for bad light! It's f.ing 2009 ... at the "home of cricket" , apparently the best ground in the world, and we don't have floodlights?

I'm sure they have brand spanking new floodlights installed at Lords!

In fact I can see them as I type!

West indies have been dire this morning and allowed England to get atleast 60-70 runs to many already!

Swann has batted well though!

Jeez! Back of the head, part head part helmet!

Cant see him contnuing!

Well he's staying on - I'd bounce him again. He should have come off

With W.I frail batting almost 400 here by england looks a good total.

And the problem of the inconsistency of both sides once again rears its head. If you cannot dominate 2 consecutive days of a test match you ain't gonna win many at all.

England will look for 400 here, and Swann will look for a maidan test century. Played a crucial role today Swann.

Intresting to see how englands swing bowlers go later on today!

Anderson goes 2nd ball after lunch.

Fidel finally gets onto the 'honours board'!

Now he is on a hatrick next time! A 6fer!

Onions OUT Goldon duck on debut

Well done Fiedy!

I can see england knock a few over early here though!

I wonder how long this experiment will last? unless hes been used for one over so broad can change ends?
