So Moeen has been shifted back down to 7 again. Not long until he's back opening though as I don't see that hack Roy succeeding.

Interesting series coming up.

Stoinis doesn't belong as an allrounder in any form of limited overs cricket.

Well I guess they will open with Burns and we should give Agar a go.

Pretty weak attack though save for Starc.

Pattinson isn't much of an ODI bowler but it will be nice to get some cricket into him

Mo Ali at 7. Bad call. Both teams have only 3 genuine bowlers and lots of all rounders.
Should be a high scoring game.

England have 7 full batsmen and 2 allrounders. That's reasonable, and anything less is not deep enough for modern cricket.

The bowlers are of sufficient quality as well, at least for England. Australia are a bowler short. England are stronger and should win.

Roy is a high quality limited overs player and it's good to see him getting an extended run which starts from the presumption that he deserves the spot, rather than the unfair treatment hitters tend to get.

Warner needs to start capitalizing on starts now. He's been giving his wicket away too often for the sake of quick starts.

How lucky has Adil been.
Younis Khan will eat him alive in tests.

Australia can defend this pretty easily. 30 overs from Starc, Cummins, Hazlewood. The rest between Marsh, Watson and Maxwell. England will either be bowled out for 40-45 overs or chase it down.

Its a shame neither England or Australia are willing to play Bangladesh at least in ODIs. England team looks too weak in this format.

An attack of Starc, Cummins and Hazlewood should be able to defend 300.

If not, would be a really poor show. Or great great batting by England.

People are stuck in purana zamana. 305 is a joke in the Ageas bowl in modern ODI cricket. Extra man out in last 10 won't make any difference. This England side isn't going to wait till then. It would be surprising if Australia managed to defend this.

Look at the Australian attack. They should be able to defend it.

Starc and Hazelwood are excellent. Cummins is average in this format and the rest of it is what exactly? Marsh, Watson and Maxwell?

The issue is this isn't a good score. It isn't even an average one. This score is a full 20 runs behind par. If Hales or Roy gets going, the match can be effectively finished inside 10 overs. 90/1 or 2 in powerplay and the match is as good as done. There is no scope for scoreboard pressure and you have a 9 batter lineup full of hyper-aggressive players on a flat wicket with fast outfield. I just don't see what Australia have going for them other than that Starc and Hazelwood are good.

Hales couldnt hit a full toss the other day, just a damn slogger.

Starc gets a few early this will be a big defeat for eng.

This england team will be lucky to score 260. I am glad that 'new' rules have restored some sanity. 'Fake' batsman will get exposed from now on!

This is only the last 10 overs, and it's really not like England have left their hitting till then....

Not like it impeded Australia either.

Hazlewood isn't playing, Coulter-Nile is...

Chasing 300 has become relatively easier now, but it's still a tough ask if the opposition attack is good. There's cloud cover as well.

My bad.

How fast is Cummins bowling?

One thing i love about Australia is how do they manage to produce these gun tear away fast bowlers from one generation to the next.

I am not saying Australia has the best pace attack in the world, far from it but definitely the most entertaining pace attack with so many tear away quick's i.e. all or nothing. Will either flatten the opposition or go for plenty but nothing boring in between.

i like this James Taylor, he is always busy in the crease.

Him and Roots in the middle order are a must..

This is the difference between Clarke and Smith. Clarke would've brought back Starc after a wicket and tight overs from Maxwell and Cummins. Smith's obviously learning but some people are just natural and read the game very quickly.

Now the 6 run over from Maxwell has released the pressure when there was a chance of turning the game on its head by bringing back Starc.

Stokes often needs a little longer to settle. It doesn't really matter much whether Buttler/Moeen/Stokes comes before one or the other.

Australia need 3-4 tight overs and this game's in the bag. 35-38 will decide the game.

England would have walked this game if Root was there. Still in a pretty solid position.

Captain Morgan needs to bat through and a few lusty blows by The Beard, Rashid and Woakes would do nicely. Had a hectic day, an England win will do me a world of good here.

James Taylor is a wonderful batsman and the perfect number 3 for England. Disappointed that he could not get a big one though.

Buttler, The Beard, Rashid and Woakes are more than good enough to get 112 runs collectively, but you do need a guiding hand in these situations and someone who can hold one end.

I'm afraid Morgan has left the lower-order, albeit explosive, too much to do here.
