THE WORLDCUP has finally started :) :)

I;m loving IT.... What a performance by the great ENGLAND !!!!!! heheheheheheh

yorker! 292-6 in 50 overs.

England 293 to win in 50 overs.

Netherlands you beauty! one of the truly enjoyed ODI innings!

Well done Ned - 292/6 in 50 overs
Anderson's worst day perhaps.
Anderson 10-0-72-0

293 is the target .......
ian botham: pretty embarrassing from them on the field

Holland's to lose IMO.

I'm glad Swann dropped it, it means Anderson finishes wicketless. Disgraceful rubbish from Anderson today.

Bresnan was actually quite good today from the seamers.Swann still had good figures.

What do you mean Hollands to lose?

They dont have a bowling attack

You surely are over-emphasizing

Holland will win this ,, if there start by bowling well.. or taking wickets.. England made around 260 against Canada..

I am looking forward to the highlights this evening, I don't care if England even win this match. Just to see a minnow nation putting up almost 300 on the board will be a delight!

InshAllah, England will win.

Well done to Dutchmen for putting an excellent total, hopefully it'll wake up the English team to the WC.

Good performance by the Saffers in Orange against the Saffers in blue

Holland's to lose IMO.

I'm glad Swann dropped it, it means Anderson finishes wicketless. Disgraceful rubbish from Anderson today.

Disgraceful England fielding all round.

Still think England will chase it.

agreed , its always nice to see good performance from minnows

I think England will still win this. Holland's big hope will be spin but I don't think they have the bowlers to defend this total. Good effort by them though.

Haha, it's England's game to lose.

The Dutch have put up a decent target, English bats are no joke and can/should chase this.

England scored 278 against Pakistan, so 293 should be within reach. But nothing can excuse their on field performance today.

Dew factor might be the only difference between netherlands bowling and englands batting

292/6 Good total. About 25 odd runs short of a very good total and about 60 odd runs short of a reasonably safe total. Still gettable by England if they keep their nerve but after what they showed in the field, seems as though they've already lost it! My money would still be on England but ... this is cricket ...

BBC Test Match Special's Geoff Boycott

"This is rubbish from Anderson. We talk him up when he is bowling well but this is absolute tripe. He's trying to bowl slower balls and off-cutters and it's not working. Just keep it simple, full and straight. His last ball was right in the slot - if you had one eye and a patch you couldn't miss that!"

Well Well Well, so the WC has finally commenced?

IMO, there is something really cookin up here. With all the credit to the Dutch, the Poms were just simply awful today. Wonder how many trillions must have changed hands today in the betting world?

I seriously feel for these Dutch players. A decent balling attack would've ensured a victory for them. But I've got a feeling that the Poms shall overcome this target within 45 overs. Poor Dutch. But a standing ovation to them :14:

Don't drag the match fixing in this thread.

Excellent performance by Dutch.

Terrible fielding by England.

And Above all else, England will largely depend on KP's start.

Bet365 is reporting the odds for Netherlands to win at 3/1, whereas for England its 1/4. Seriously? I am 80% sure Netherlands can win this.

Looks like a collective bad day for us.

Let's wait another three hours before we decide that.

Did Strausser win the toss and put them in? If so

You'd expect Strauss, KP, Trottski, Dingdong and Wobbles to run this down four times in five.

In any event this is the boot in the backside that England often need to get them moving.

England should still win fairly easily.

A quick 80+ from KP and a good partnership from Trott will help England no end. If one or both go early, then a shock is on

Swann's dropped catch summed up England.

First upset of the WC on the cards!

Wonder if England will struggle against the dibbly dobblers.

Don't really think so. Not because the England batting is great, but mainly because the Dutch balling lacks the spark. At least two good bowlers would've set it up nicely for the Dutch. But cricket is a game of uncertainties so lets see what happens. My take: England win by 5 wickets.

It's funny to see all the Pakistani fans getting cocky, when England beat Pakistan a few days back.

This is just a bad day for England really, and some great batting by Netherlands. Could very well happen to us and that wouldn't be any laughing matter.

Abysmal fielding by England really. Anderson and to some extent Broad bowled poor. Swann bowled very well really, if he weren't in the team I'm sure Netherlands would have scored at least something like 320.

Anderson's had a bad day but I wouldn't do anything rash like drop Anderson and replace him. In recent years anderson has been one of the best ODI bowlers and should be persisted with.

Maybe England should have mixed things up a bit and given guys like Trott and especially Bopara a bowl.

Collingwood did a respectable job and a good batting pitch. I know this wasn't an overall good bowling performance, but I don't think bringing in Yardy for a batsman would make any difference. This bowling attack is very strong and they can't afford to weaken their batting line up.

Netherlands won the toss, so at least we weren't making mistakes before the game started...

I await the resumption with bated breath.

Just woke up and holy crap at the score , England will have to bat out of their skins to chase this

:facepalm in the field from England.

Should still win this but there will be plenty of twitchy bottoms in England right now.

oooo, we do have a very long batting lineup actually.

England already 'batting out of their skins', and Pietersen hasn't even taken strike yet. :moyo
