As like many of you, I'm frustrated at today's loss. There was absolutely no fight from the team. I don't mind going down fighting but this was just hopeless cricket from Pakistan. In my opinion this is what needs to be changed.

1. Fakhar: For God's sake stop going after every ball. Spend 4-5 overs just knocking it here and there with 4-5 RPO

2. Imam: He needs to be more positive and rotate the strike early on.

3. Babar: Just play like you have been for so many years. Stop listening to the senseless media/fans who want you to up your SR. Just play your natural game.

4. I would bring hafeez at No.4. plz get rid of lazy haris shoail.

5. Sarfaraz: for sakes needs to step up and build an innings. It always seems hes in a hurry. JUST BAT some overs out.


6. Malik: bring in Malik, i know his record is england is bad but we need experience


7. Asif Ali: I would bring him in place for Imad. Imad is NOT an allrounder, he can not bat. bowling is mediocre


8. Shadab khan: Dont have much to say but plz shadab bring your game next time with the bat


9. Hasan Ali/Shaheen Shah: Hasan Ali as been awful all year long. someone plz tell him to stop with the goofing around on social media. Otherwise bring in Shaheen.


10. Wahab Riaz: I expect wahab to be bowling with the new ball since neither hasan or shaheen can handle that role.


11. Amir: thank you for finally picking up wickets today. and for God's sake show some more passion and aggression. when he bowls it seems like he just wants to get paid.
 
Need more aggression but also need runs!
 
In all honesty, theres vey little we can do to change our fortunes. The bench strength is weak. I guess you can bring in hasnain for hasan and asif for hafeez but it wont make much difference.
If we win the toss bat first, that way we prevent england scoring 500 and the game will finish early, as englqnd would have seen how pathetic we are against bouncers and bowl loads of them at us, and i wont waste all.my day!

They have Archer and wood both bowl 145+. If we bat first I don't see us making 150+.
 
England will eat us alive. Since our team is more worse than we met England in a series. We need win the toss and ball first to loose respectably. Even if England score 400+ runs and with the sun out we can score 280 runs in the flat pitch. Loosing to no. 1 team by 120 doesn't look that bad.
 
We’ll get a point due to the weather which in fact will be a decent result for us
 
The only thing in favour of Pakistan are the law of averages. 12 ODI losses on the trott! 13th time lucky/
 
I hope it rains hard and we avoid further embarrassment.

We are not going to win. Its just damage limitation. If england bat first theres a real possibilty ,on this small ground, they score 500 runs. They broke the world record against us a few years ago, on this ground and scored 444 runs.,
 
Archer is a better bowler than all four of the Windies pacers on show today. We are looking at an even worse pounding on Monday.

No chance in this game.

He boke amlas head. After seeing this pathetic display, hes gonna crack quite a few more skulls. Seriously, fakhar needs to be careful, ive lost count how many times he has been hit in the head! Theres also a long term danger of repeated blows to the head. Imam is also terrible against bouncers and needs to protect himself. I pray none of these guys get hurt!

These guys might aswell not show up on Monday tbh. Call in sick or whatever. On evidence of today, England will quite possibly deliver the most gut-wrenching defeat to us and make our NRR soar to double figures (in the minus ofcourse)
 
It's kinda weird that when pak lost the second odi against sa I felt more sad than i'm feeling today. Considering today we were playing a WC match not just a meaningless bilateral series.
The 12 consecutive losses have toughened people up.
 
I would play the same squad.

Wanted Asif over Harris before the match against WI for more firepower but since our batsmen have jitters Harris is one of our better batsmen.
 
somehow feels like the 3 scores of around 350 against England were ages ago and not by this batting line-up. not sure how we managed to put up those and then go straight down to 105. maybe the old pakistan is back.
suggested changes:
1) Imad for Asif Ali
2) Shaheen for Hasan Ali
 
Asif at #7 is a waste anyway. Can try him as an opener though, with Imam at 4.

I think it's weather thing and batting first will be very tough for all teams. Early morning pitches have been very double paced. Chasing should be the way to go and in first innings, bowler shouldn't look to pitch it up. Bowlers should keep it short. All pitches since start of warm ups have been double paced for first 25-30 overs. Win toss and field with short pitch bowling plan.

Those were England Pitches. These are ICC pitches. Double paced. As I said, short pitch bowling plan will work here for first 25-30 overs.

How many chances have been given to malik and hafeez ? They are still softies
Give haris few chances to prove himself.
Hasan needs to be dropped. Shaheen or husnain need to comeback and our batsmen should take responsibilty and not give away wickets like fakhar imam babar did and we will win against england
 
Asif ali yes needs to replace imad and malik should replace haris.
I dont know why hve they brought wahab back, i mean everyone knows how bad he is
 
Whatever Pakistan score against England, they will chase.

Having looked at the 1st game, I would say it would be an achievement to hit 250 to make a game of it.
 
We got beaten by short balls.
If I was Mickey I would take the boys out for a game of baseball over the weekend.
 
This won't be the 350 plus track they had in the bilateral series. It will be under ICC supervision. So pitch will help seamers or spinners. So par score may not be 350 here.

we already played against Archer, lets not big him up. Eng have always bowled short to pakistan, its nothing new.

Lets see, eventually this run will end..

I'm trying hard to be as positive as you, but this performance has completely shattered whatever little confidence I had in these guys.

It wasn't just the meltdown against the short ball, but the way three of our batsmen got out caught behind down the legside is LOLworthy :facepalm:
 
Everything in Pakistan goes back to the original sin. Hafeez and Malik dont deserve to be here. I dont see too many changes against England. Suspect Haris will be benched for Asif Ali.
 
2 types of torcher fr pak fans on Monday

1 pak bat 1st = 3hr torcher
2 pak bat 2nd = 6hr torcher

Archer/Plunkett are going to end a few careers on Mon.
 
All those doing banghra over the potential rain, the weather will be fine.

I also do not want rain, I want us to get through by earning and not by sneaking in through rain.

This a handicapped team: we spent the england series try to get these two average players in the team and figure out a role for them. I can only hope they send them both home while we still have a change in this tournament.
 
I think they should play our right handed fast bowler in every game. he is here for that x-factor so lets see it.
 
Maybe the short turnaround for this match is a good thing instead of lingering on the result for a week until our next game.

At this point we're just living in hope.
 
Would be hilarious if they bounce back to beat England. I am looking forward to it.

Can never rule Pakistan out.

They will play till we are out. Malik will be gone after the tournament. I fear Hafeez will hold on.
 
Indians are just trolling ATM but it's kinda disheartening to see people from the SENA countries complaining why Pak didn't play in the qualifiers and was automatically selected.

They should really have some ghairat and start playing as they should. These players are not the kind who get demolished by this Windies team.

Someone sent me a 30 second video where it shows Inzi batting against Ambrose. In the first ball, Ambrose bowled a bouncer and kinda sledged Inzi then Inzi on the next ball smacked Ambrose for a massive six. This is the attitude we needed from out players today.

Law of averages only works for evenly matched things. If one team is so much better than the other team in every department, they can win 100 straight matches

One counter-attack would have shown the true colors of this West Indies bowling attack. People forget Holder and Cottrell were all over the place initially, and Russell would have reverted to the same had even ONE batsman attacked the short ball.

What we got was everyone scared shitless and being pushed further back into the crease.

If Pakistan had been bowled out for 105, with West Indies bowling like Ambrose and Walsh, we would be angry but not this angry. Right now it feels clearly like we are the worst team in this tournament.

Look at how bad the Sri Lankan team is but even they show more guts then us.
It's just disappointing.
 
I think our batsmen got surprised by the bounce.

We are not smart as a team. Our batsmen should have changed their game plan after seeing so much movement by WI bowlers with pace and bounce

Honestly I still can’t get over the sight of the batsmen closing their eyes & having a blind go at the bouncers. No excuse for that kinda fear - these guys made Walsh/Ambrose out of the ordinary WI bowlers.

Hopefully these guys will tackle Archer better on Monday.
 
Thanks to Yasir Shah for winning us Away Test Series in West Indies, because next tour to Windies in 2021 will be a Whitewash. Once again thanks Shanon Gabriel. It was my wish to see us winning Test series in West Indies.
 
Imagine the luxury of talent this team faces when the big decision before every game is ‘should we play hafeez or Malik today?’
 
I think after England match first time I will see negative runrate that too in double digits

Have a feeling they will drop Haris and replace him with Malik.

WI bowling attack is on par with RSA. They may not have likes of Rabada, but they have Thomas who can be as effective. The likes of Holder, Cottrell, Thomas, even blew away ENG for 113 on a series decider.
 
We need to fill the team with batsman and attack!
I would play 3 pacers - amir, hasnain and wahab.
And rest of overs from hafeez, imad and haris.

win the toss bowl first. Bowlers need to bowl bodyline bouncers not friendly half trekkers. Yorkers at the toes. Bring in Hasnain for Hassan as he can actually bowl good bouncers. Get him bowling fast head height bouncers and also a few yorkers in between. No length or regulation balls here. Its a strict role for each bowler. Restrict England to a limited score and chase the total down with Imam or babar holding up one end. Send in Asif Ali to hit and increase run rate.

We tried to bat aggressively today and look at how we flopped.

I agree with your bowling stratedgy, but not bowling first. These players are shot and couldnt case 150 with the preesure it would bring. Bat first, put up a score and attack with bouncers and yorkers from hasnain and wahab.
 
For goodness sake, play Shaheen Shah Afridi, stop wasting time playing Wahab. There was pace and bounce in this wicket, Shaheen could've been so useful here. He's been bowling brilliantly for a year, a few bad games on England flat decks shouldn't make management lose confidence in him.

Regarding the batting, Imad needs to be dropped for Asif. None of them play the short ball particularly well, but at least Asif finds a way around it, is gutsy, fields well, and might get you some quick and vital runs down the order. Imad's bowling is quite useless anyway. Also, they don't need to go into every game thinking its a 350 wicket. Read the conditions, had they done that they would have realised that the wicket has pace, and a 270 score might have been competitive enough. They could've grinded out a decent score.

Fakhar got unlucky, but he needs to take his time and get himself in. Looked good for whatever runs he scored.

Imam looked nervy, needs to calm down and just grit out a good innings like he's been doing for the past year.

Babar, please don't lose your focus. He looked brilliant, and got out trying to hit a ball that should've been dispatched for four.

Shadab, with the bat, needed to play a gritty innings like he's done in test cricket. With the ball, haven't seen him yet, but he needs to bring his A game, strangle them in the middle overs and chip away like he's done before.

Amir needs to keep up the good work, but I'd like to see him put on 5kph of pace, he'll create more chances that way.

Shaheen Shah, if he plays, needs to focus on hitting the pitch hard in the right channels. Forget about the England series, he's a brilliant bowler, and needs to get back to how he was bowling last year. Conditions in the WC will favour him.

Hasan Ali needs to stop being so self obsessed and arrogant, get his head out of the clouds, and needs to start working hard on his bowling again. He acts like he's taken 300 wickets and has already made it to greatness. He's hardly played for 3 years, had one purple patch, that's it. He's gotta fix his attitude, or he'll go down the Akmal and Shehzad route. Maybe dropping him for Hasnain is not such a bad idea.

The rest, I've got nothing much to say about.

while i agree with your suggestion
you can't tingle too much with batting order now. it will further deteriorate things.
 
that was our best batting combination every thing was perfect. sad that we will again see malik at 6 and hafeez at 4

You can’t really have shadab and Imad playing, these aren’t subcontinent pitches. Playing both makes the tale immensely bigger.

Harris to play instead of Asif, only purely cause he can bat long, but he needs to find his mojo quickly.

Terrible performance against one of the weaker teams and now we are up against the hot favourites, England. Will take some serious effort to win this game with some minor changes to the lineup as well.

We can't play both of Imad and Shadab from now on, our tail gets too long. Shadab gets the nod due to his superior bowling. Mohammad Hafeez will have to play as the 5th bowler.

One of Wahab Riaz and Hasan Ali should be dropped, we need a new ball bowler in Shaheen. Backing him to deliver this time against a team he took 4 wickets last time he played. Also this is the same ground where we played yesterday, his height might be able to extract serious bounce of the surface.

Haris Sohail shouldn't be dropped after one game. Though, I am sure team management won't keep Shoaib Malik out now.

My Lineup would be:

4) Haris Sohail/Shoaib Malik
5) Sarfraz Ahmed(C)(Wk)

Even if we play Archer ok, Woakes with his swing will get the batsman out.
