Lol you sure about that as if saim babar agha play kabaddi don't forget rana faheem pakistan is not sri lanka or any other team when they are on they know how to win those big games.
You have a habit of getting over confident re paks ability. I too am a Pak fan but I know when to calm down and look at the strengths and weaknesses. You thought in the test series with South Africa just because we have Noman and Sajid we will run through South Africa. It didn’t happen. And now you think our bits and pieces all rounders will put up some defence against an England side that have run through Sri Lanka You need to actually watch cricket.

Pallekele swings and spins plus it’s a turgid wicket. If conditions are used properly this is a tough match. I hope Pak win but not by swiping across the line like they have a tendency to do.

On 24 February 2025 exactly at this time we will see meltdown of Pakistani fans.

1) how can Pakistan qualify for semi ( agar bittu ne mantu ko hara diya, mantu ne sattu ko hara diya to semi m pahuch jayega )

2) what entire Wrong with Pakistan in World T20 2026

3) sacked the coach , dropped the King etc etc

:klopp :kp
This aged very well after India vs South Africa. Now it's your turn to have the meltdown while screaming at the calculator.

Eng has a long batting lineup and couple of world class bowlers atleast for Pakistan standards, as for toss bat 1st should be Pakistan's preference. Also no point playing babar at 4,

Heavily dependent on Farhan if he doesn’t score another 50. We will struggle again

Faheem sifarshi is not needed with bat so abrar nerd must play.

England will struggle badly against spinners.
Are you in your senses abrar is a top bowler what's with this nerd he is ranked in top rankings respect the talent just because he couldn't do vs india who cares he did it vs australia which what we need.

Lol why so triggered? Hahah.
First of all he sucked against India in all the matches he played.

He is one of the main reason Pakistan lost this match against India.
No way on that pitch he should have gone for 38 runs in 3 overs.

He averages 62 with economy rate of 8.50 against India in 4 matches.

He is not a top bowler he never will be. He will always get the treatment from top teams on flat wickets.
He is a nerd with that cringe celebration.

The poster didn't say anything wrong, even Abhishek is ranked at the top, doesn't say much does it?

Abrar has been rubbish and needs to stay put on the bench.

Look we need to back our top performers if we don't back them then who will you see how our young talent is getting exposed by england lions likes of maaz sadaqat sufiyan are getting exposed big time abrar has been top performer in domestic as well and in international so far.

Must say i was surprised at SL disintegration vs Eng and also Zim have def them. Eng does not look like having any X factor players. Am totally surprised at the success of Will jackcs in this tournament, this is one guy who has proved me majorly wrong. Take his contributions aways, Eng would struggle against all comers. SL has really gone down, and gone down v fast.

If i was pak, i'd fancy my chances. Conditions take spin + Pallekelle is a low bounce high scoring wkt.

Bowl first - Angrez ain't that flash vs spin and Pak has about 5 of those -get them inside 120 + dew will defo come in as this is an inland city as opposed to being on the coast, and chase down the target.

England will come really hard because a win here guarantees their qualification
England might play their ‘perfect’ game tomorrow.

They did the exact same thing in 2034, limped into the Super 8s then proceeded to thrash West Indies and USA to make the semi-finals easy.

I’m not even confident of beating them on a spinning wicket as they have destroyed Sri Lanka four times now in these conditions.

SL , without Hasaranga, is one of the weakest spin attacks going around. PAK's spin attack - one of the best.

Will be quite the contest.

I'm not sure if Pakistan have the mental strength to chase even 140. We saw their runchase against Netherlands. PAK might have to bat first everytime if they want to win/progress

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

National squad practices at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium
  • Net Sessions: Under the supervision of coaches, players engaged in batting and bowling practice.
  • Warm-ups: Prior to net practice, the players participated in physical drills and a fielding session.
  • Next Match: Pakistan will play its second match of the Super Eight stage against England tomorrow.

How's the weather forecast?
Today was a bright, sunny day, and tomorrow also looks pretty clear. There’s no rain forecast at all — although, since it’s Sri Lanka, you can never be completely sure.

Regarding the practice sessions, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Abrar Ahmed put in noticeably more work compared to the other bowlers. Shaheen, in particular, bowled for nearly two hours, delivering to almost all the batters. Mirza also took part in the session, of course, but not as extensively as Shaheen or Abrar.

Naseem, however, seems unlikely to play, as he was sitting out for most of the session.

Sahibzada Farhan’s shared following thoughts in a pre match presser today:

Team Morale and the Next Challenge

* "As you mentioned, we haven't won yet against England, but the morale among the boys is very high and we are fully confident."
* "All our batsmen have performed well in these conditions, and Inshallah, we will give our opponents a tough time."

Batting Strategy and Recent Collapses
* "It is true that our batting has collapsed recently. While our bowling and spin attack are performing well, we are facing some struggles in the batting department."
* "In T20s, you need one or two players from the top four to bat deep, but so far we haven't been able to achieve that."
* "The match shouldn't be considered over just because the openers don't deliver. This is a team game, and everyone must take responsibility."

Strike Rate and the Power Play
* "I believe I currently hold the highest overall strike rate in the World Cup."
* "International cricket doesn't work by just swinging at the first ball. No matter how great a player is, you have to respect the bowling."
* "It’s natural to take two or three balls to assess the wicket and play accordingly. However, I try to hit any ball that comes into my range."
* "Once I gain momentum, I try to carry it through to benefit the team and make the most of the power play overs."

Pitch Conditions and Toss Decisions
* "I can’t comment on the decision to bat first in the rain; that is a call made by the captain and the coach. We simply prepare to bat or bowl based on their decision."
* "I’ve heard from the senior players that this is usually a good batting track where the ball comes onto the bat well. However, in yesterday’s match, the ball seemed to grip and stick in the surface a bit."
* "We can’t pre-determine a target like 180 or 200 right now. We have to see how the wicket behaves tomorrow and set our goals accordingly."

Facing Jofra Archer and High-Pace Bowling
* "Facing Jofra Archer isn't a major concern for us; we have faced similar pace in Pakistan. We view him as a solid bowler, but nothing we can't handle."
* "He is a quality bowler who hits 145 kph and will surely come with a plan. However, I have a plan of my own as well. It should be a great contest."

On Records and Personal Performance
* "I am very happy to be the top scorer for Pakistan right now, and I want to continue this form to help the team succeed."
* "Personally, I rarely look at records. Even after a performance, when people message me about my strike rate or stats, I don't focus on them much."
* "In T20s, you have to take risks, and focusing on records only adds unnecessary pressure. Records are made to be broken; my focus is simply to finish on top and bring glory to Pakistan."

Dealing with Criticism
* "Criticism is part of the game. Even if you are the top scorer of the tournament, people will still find something to critique, like your strike rate or strike rotation."
* "As players, we are mentally prepared for this. We remain fully confident in our abilities and the way we have performed for Pakistan in the past."

I agree. Their mental strength is the main worry. It could let 'em down any given day. It overcomes their skillset without resistance.

Pace off is the way to go against England. Salman Mirza will need to bowl intelligently.

English batsmen (are not the best players of spin) are much happier against pace than spin and will smash you for 4s and 6s.

Attack them with the spinners. Both Abrar and Usman need to play. Saim will need to play a part as well (but we need his runs too. That's his primary role in the team)

Hope Hesson and Agha have done their homework.

Not sure if they will do it, but I would play Fakhar and drop useless Babar.

Lankan spinners did a decent job against England. The batting failed them.

England are well acclimatised to the Sri Lankan conditions

Michael Clarke on his podcast (beyond23 cricket) said England would win

Pakistan is playing entire World T20 in Lanka while England just played a single game in this World T20 here. :kp

Hopefully Pakistan don’t mess up . A loss will make things very difficult . England will guarantee semi spot .

If Pakistan loses tomorrow, start packing your bags, New Zealand is not going to lose against Sri Lanka or even England. :kp

Pakistan should bat first and set target of 180+ and then launch all out spin attack. English team will struggle against spin. Abrar must be back along with Nafay. Babar should be dropped and replaced by Fakhar. Babar doesn't have any value to add to this team

@Rana is already know Pakistan Aaukat after thrashing they received against India so bistar boriya utha ke vapas bhaag Gaya srilanka se . :klopp :ko

England have played four games against Sri Lanka on this very pitch in the past month or so. So eventhough Pakistan have been in Sri Lanka for a month, it is England who will have the venue advantage.

Still Pakistan should be confident and should back their spinners against this England side that has struggled for much of this tournament.

England beat Lanka 3-0 in a T20 series just before the T20 World Cup + they have venue advantage, having played (and won) at Kandy in the last 4 games

Due a loss then.

Don't care how we need to win tomorrow. Golden opportunity to beat SA or WI in final.

England are definitely favourite here but pakistan can have good day and win farhan needs to fire again he's only hope

H2H in T20I is 21-9 to England
In T20 WCs, they are leading 3-0
Last 5 matches 5-0

But these two sides haven't played a T20I in 2 years and the conditions are not the type of conditions that play to England's best strengths. So should hopefully be a good game.

Abrar is overrated. Tariff is far better. We Fakhar to finally fire as Farhan is due a failure.
He should make the side over Nawaz. You don't need batting till No. 9. Overrated or not he has taken alot of wickets for Pakistan over the past year and it's not in your best interest as a team to sideline a proven performer like him.
