169 is a good total and S.A will have to bat well to get close to it.

I think england will win by 30 runs or so!

Yea I think if all the results go our way - NZ will be out of the equation pretty much. Especially if we beat South Africa quite nicely.

At the moment our NRR is slightly greater than NZ's so we do have a chance but for that we need to pray that SA lose today

^^ Usama, you shouldve shown half a smile there because we have one more hurdle to cross (or England rather):p

fixed :)

Guys by how much do you reckon England need to win to get SA's NRR around about near 0?

^^what are you smoking !NZ'S runrate is -0.38 and Pak's run rate is - 0.20..Nz's run rate is only gonna go down if Eng defeat them..and Pak's run rate would go up if they beat Saffers..

What are you smoking! Just kidding. Well, the thing is even if Pak beat SA, it's a possibility that even if Eng beat NZ, SA RR might be higher then Pak.

An England win is enough. Pak would need England to win again and then beat SA, if so Pak will go through on run rate.

A long way to go but if England win, they will need to win again to make sure they go through.

Swann is the key in this game.

Ryan Sidebottom you are my hero - what a catch!

Will the Saffers choke under the spin of Yardy/Swann? It seems so.

As posted in another thread, England and us together have to beat SA by more than 18 runs combined. AND we also have to beat SA by more than (7 runs minus X), where X is England's margin of victory over NZ.

bhai jan,I was just clarifying that NZ cant survive in this tournament on the basis of NRR..

England are looking a very balanced team this tournament. Probably the second best so far after Australia tbh.

At the moment it seems England will take care of SA all by themselves for us. :D

A very proffesional outfit, imagine if Pakistan were as proffesional with that talent.

Swann on to choke further.

South Africa have a very deep batting lineup.

This will get tight I feel.

I hope so, but yaar, the buck stops at the game with Pak vs SA. Only, a very high luck can turn things around for us now...

yep looks like it. But they have Albei Morkel, as long as he's there in the end SA may win it.

Maybe but only one man can hit Swann against the wind, Albie Morkel.

Smith gone. Swann is very hard to hit out the ground.

RRR climbing pretty fast. Even if Albie doesn't get out, and if the RRR climbs over 12 or so, with about 10 overs, it's going to be might difficult.

hmmm. England vs Australia in Final ?..... no chance for Pakistan dont even think about them

After the way we played today, I would think twice before giving another team the chokers tag - we are just as worthy of this title.

OMG. South Africa are going to MAUL Pakistan.
England playing very well. :14:

JP 'I can't play offfspin to save my life' Dumminy in.

Our chances of going thru have just gone up a notch, but I think NZ will beat England - just a gut feeling.

Ah come on now.

Relax and have fun. This match is turning out to be an amazing stress reliever. :D

Oh boy, can England dent SA NRR so heavily, that the only way for SA to qualify would be a win against Pakistan?

Yep. Pakistan will have nothing to lose and everything to gain because NZ will struggle against this England team.

Let's just hop KP's baby stays away until then.

Good question, anyone? What if SA loose by 60 odd runs?

AB also gone. This is awesome. The fairy tale is still on. Pak are still alive

so if engalnd beat southafrica..will they work hard to beat newzealand..
why would they will be interested to beat newzeland?

Like I said earlier (from another thread), England and us together have to beat SA by more than 18 runs combined. AND we also have to beat SA by more than (7 runs minus X), where X is England's margin of victory over NZ.

So, this is looking VERY likely (not the 60 runs loss), but the above 18 runs might just be achieved by England alone...

I doubt that will happen.

If that does occur we will not have to focus on the NRR at all. Only the results will matter. Pak will have to beat SA and ENG will have to beat NZ and we'll be through.

Yet again I am pretty sure they won't lose by that much. They have quite a lineup.

Simple Because if NZ win by a margin and SA beat Pak, England will be out.

England will do an Austarlia and make sure by beating NZ.

Pak have a chance to make the semi's even by losing more than winning. :)))

Ramiz: Duminy is a very good player of spin bowling...........which fkn planet is he on?
