You only conceded one goal! Defence must be improving...

A relegation battler has converted only realistic chance they could create in entire match in an away fixture - improvement indeed!!!!

Surprised to see West Ham go for Moyes after his struggles at Sunderland and in Spain.

West Ham seem to be one of those clubs who are a shambles.

Losing start for David Moyes at West Ham. A loss at Watford. No idea why they went for him as a manager, since leaving Everton his record has been, frankly, awful.

Bangladeshi descent Hamza Choudhury made him Premier League debut for Leicester City by coming on as a substitute against Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester derby: Jose Mourinho has water & milk thrown at him in row, Mikel Arteta cut

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho had water and milk thrown at him and Manchester City coach Mikel Arteta suffered a cut head during a post-match row.

United were upset at what they viewed as an excessive City reaction to Sunday's 2-1 win at Old Trafford, which sent them 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League.

City's players celebrated in front of their fans after the final whistle and coaching staff tried to persuade manager Pep Guardiola to join them, but he refused.

After the players headed down the tunnel, it is understood Mourinho made his feelings known outside the visitors' dressing room as he made his way to post-match interviews.

The City camp reacted, with Brazil goalkeeper Ederson and Mourinho exchanging words angrily in Portuguese - but Mourinho carried out his post-match media engagements as normal and made no mention of it.

Arteta was left with a cut, though it is unclear how it was caused and sources from both clubs say no punches were thrown during the incident.

The incident started when Mourinho responded to what he perceived to be over the top celebrations.

The row took place outside the visitors' dressing room, the door to which was open. It was noisy but lasted no more than two minutes.

A one-pint milk carton - which had been left in the City dressing room for tea and coffee - was thrown at Mourinho. The United manager did not get splattered but a member of his staff was.

After the row, the Portuguese went into the referees' room, which is opposite the visitors' dressing room, and then to the tunnel to do his post-match interviews.

Players from both sides were talking to each other normally after they had got changed.

In October 2004, then United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was hit by pizza thrown by Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas after a bad tempered encounter between the sides at Old Trafford.

In the build-up to Sunday's Premier League game, City were irritated when United denied them permission to use cameras to gather footage for their £10m behind-the-scenes documentary.

The Old Trafford club said there was not enough room because of the number of rights holders wanting to attend the game.

In his pre-match news conference - and again on Sunday - Mourinho said he did not think he would be allowed to make to make a political statement on the touchline like Guardiola.

The City boss has recently worn a yellow ribbon - a symbol of protest against the imprisonment of pro-independence politicians in the Spanish region of Catalonia.

Mourinho also suggested on Friday that City players go to ground too easily, saying: "A little bit of wind and they fall."

However, on Sunday United midfielder Ander Herrera was booked for diving in the second half when he went down in the box under challenge from Nicolas Otamendi - though his Portuguese boss was adamant his side should have been awarded a penalty.

Game of the season so far imo. LFC dominate the first half and should have scored 4/5 not 1. Goalkeeper error let Arsenal back in who scored 3 in less than 10 mins.

Brilliant game of football, one of the best this season.

This is why the Premier league is the best league in the world.

Wenger has shown that he has completely lost his marbles, and there is no such thing as a 'defence' in Arsenal. The 3 men at the back have made them more open than ever before. We are leaking goals at a canter.

However on the flip side, this team has the ability to carve up every side in the Premier League.

With attacking teams becoming the predominant in the PL division, the focus has shifted from defence to attack more.

I remember in the 2000s there used to be boring draws or 1-0s in the big games, however all this has changed.

Even big teams are making school boy defensive mistakes.

Wenger can bolster up the attack more instead of investing on defence and try to make a Barcelona/city like attack.

That is the only way this team can have the hope of winning the title next year.

Great signing for Liverpool.

A record signing for saints

Let's see how he does he's being reunited with pellegrino again.

Four West Brom players were interviewed by police after allegedly stealing a taxi from outside a fast-food restaurant in Barcelona on Thursday.

The Premier League club said it was investigating the incident, which happened during a training trip.

Catalonia police told BBC Sport the players - who have not been named - were interviewed but not arrested after the incident in the early hours.

West Brom host Southampton in the FA Cup at 15:00 GMT on Saturday.

Mossos d'Esquadra - the Catalan regional police force - said the four players involved wanted to go out in Barcelona, but found everything closed so took a taxi to a fast-food restaurant.

When they left the restaurant, at approximately 5.30am, it is alleged they took the taxi and drove back to their hotel - without the driver.

Police were alerted by the hotel and taxi driver, who was reunited with his vehicle at about 8am.

West Brom, who are bottom of the Premier League, have won just one of their past 25 league matches.

The club said it had "instigated its own investigation into the incident" and said the players "will be subject to the full rigours of our internal disciplinary procedures".

It said it would not comment any further on the incident until the investigation is over.

West Brom players Gareth Barry, Jonny Evans, Jake Livermore and Boaz Myhill have apologised - after a taxi was stolen from outside a fast-food restaurant in Barcelona on Thursday.

The quartet were interviewed but not arrested by police after the incident, which happened in the early hours of the morning and is being investigated by the Premier League club.

"We felt it important we identify ourselves out of respect for team-mates who otherwise could be implicated by association," they said in a statement.

West Brom and Northern Ireland defender Evans 30, former England midfielder Barry 36, England international Livermore, 28, and reserve goalkeeper Myhill, 35, said they wanted to apologise for "breaking the curfew" and for "the events which have been the subject of widespread and negative publicity".

Mossos d'Esquadra - the Catalan regional police force - had told BBC Sport the four players involved wanted to go out in Barcelona, but found everything closed so took a taxi to a fast-food restaurant.

When they left, at approximately 05:30, it is alleged they took the taxi and drove back to their hotel - without the driver.

Police were alerted by the hotel and taxi driver, who was reunited with his vehicle at about 08:00.

Baggies boss Alan Pardew said the players involved had broken a midnight curfew, adding it was "unacceptable" and he "felt a bit let down".

"It wasn't what we wanted," he said. "We've gone there to try to get ourselves ready and up for the run-in and this is obviously not ideal."

West Brom, who are bottom of the Premier League, have won just one of their past 25 league matches.

They host Southampton in the FA Cup at 15:00 GMT on Saturday.

The players added: "We would like to assure our supporters that this incident does not reflect the determination and resolve we possess to do all we can to recover a difficult season."

The club said it had "instigated its own investigation into the incident" and said the players "will be subject to the full rigours of our internal disciplinary procedures".

It said it would not comment any further on the incident until the investigation is over.

What about big game today - if it ends in draw, we are 2nd in table. Spurs are tied 0-0 at half time at Selhurst.

Hoping for Spurs to drop points and Manchster United to beat Chelsea to keep our slim top 4 hopes alive. We have winnable home games so need to keep winning to have a chance.

Liverpool will almost certainly be in the top 4 next year. Good job by Klopp after a indifferent start.

Amid the chaotic and toxic scenes during West Ham’s Premier League match with Burnley, there was also a glimpse of the kinder side of football. The Hammers lost 3-0 at the London Stadium which triggered the anger among already frustrated supporters to spiral out of control. Many came onto the pitch, with one being tackled by West Ham midfielder Mark Noble and another picking up a corner flag and carrying it to the centre circle. Hundreds of fans left their seats to express their anger at owners David Gold and David Sullivan.

With reports of a lack of police presence and stewards failing to contain fans intent on causing trouble, there were understandably fears among many inside the stadium. Burnley played their part to try and help by letting young West Ham fans sit in their seats on the bench due to the trouble in the stands.

The atmosphere by the end of the match was in stark contrast to how it started, with West Ham marking the 25th anniversary of Sir Bobby Moore’s death before kick-off.

One win for City and they have the PL for the season. I'd love for them to go on and win the champion's league this season too, they are the best team in Europe in terms of style of play, they just need to win it's biggest prize.

They are also, imo, the best English team of this decade, 2 titles already under their belts, a 3rd on the way, an FA Cup, 3 league cups and top players like Silva, Aguero (best striker in the league this decade), De Bruyne and now Raheem...oh what a time. The CL will be the cherry on top of this spectacular rise.

I was watching Manchester derby too but saw the last 2 overs. I hope you support MU, what a comeback :D

That's the last thing you can expect for a life long Liverpool fan :(

But, today I wanted them to make Pep's billion dollar boys run for the money, so that he can't rest his 1st squad before CL QF.

Nothing personal, but Managers like Guardiola is spoiling the game - he is winning EPL only because his owner is happy to overpay basically 2 sets of players, both set good enough to finish top 4 in any League.

This needs to stop, otherwise next year Pep will hire another 250mn worth player and loan them to Everton, Southampton, New Castle ......... these players won't play against MCity, but they'll cut points from Liverpool, MU, CFC, Arsenal, Spurs.

It's really surprising to me that MU actually isn't my most hated team from Manchester anymore.

I completely agree with you regarding Pep, he's a cheque book manager. BTW congrats on a tremendous first leg victory and best of luck for the 2nd leg.

Manchester City must wait to secure the Premier League title after Manchester United mounted a remarkable second-half derby fightback to come from two goals down to win at Etihad Stadium.

City needed victory to be confirmed as champions but Paul Pogba scored two goals in two minutes to overturn City's first-half lead before Chris Smalling's volley completed the dramatic turnaround.

Pep Guardiola's side had delivered a first-half masterclass with captain Vincent Kompany scoring with a thumping header after 25 minutes and Ilkay Gudogan adding a second five minutes later after a clever turn and finish.

Outclassed United remained in contention after Raheem Sterling skied two golden chances over the bar with the goal at his mercy and Gundogan headed straight at keeper David de Gea when unmarked eight yards out.

It gave United hope and how Jose Mourinho's team responded as Pogba - out of sorts at Old Trafford recently and at the centre of claims by Guardiola before the game that he had been offered to City in January - stole in to pull a goal back after 53 minutes and head the equaliser two minutes later.

The remarkable turnaround was complete when Smalling, badly at fault for Kompany's goal, arrived unmarked to steer Alexis Sanchez's free-kick past the exposed Ederson in the 69th minute.

In a furious finale, players from both sides clashed and Ashley Young was fortunate that his wild lunge on City substitute Sergio Aguero in the area was ignored by referee Martin Atkinson.

De Gea made a world-class one-handed save from Aguero as City attacked furiously - but United held out and Guardiola's title party must wait for another day.

City will win the title next weekend if they beat Tottenham at Wembley on the Saturday (19:45 BST kick-off) and United lose at home to bottom club West Brom on Sunday (16:00).

Man Utd deserve more respect, says Mourinho after amazing comeback
City collapse puts title party on hold
When Gundogan turned sweetly and poked a right-foot finish beyond De Gea after half an hour, the champagne was being placed on ice by Manchester City's supporters - and on the evidence up to that point no-one could blame them.

City were tearing United's fragile defence apart and Gundogan's goal was a fitting return for domination that had already brought them the lead through Kompany's header.

It was hard to see how the visitors, so passive and pedestrian, could do anything other than mount a damage-limitation exercise before City's title celebrations got under way.

And then came what proved to be the decisive passage of play when Sterling sent two easy chances wildly over the top and Gundogan provided a tame headed finish to another great opportunity.

It left the door ajar for United - and they burst through it once manager Jose Mourinho had delivered his half-time message.

When Pogba slipped through eight minutes after the interval to beat Ederson and give United hope, the defensive demons that put the skids under City in the Champions League quarter-final first leg at Liverpool on Wednesday surfaced once more.

Nicolas Otamendi, so solid and improved before that 3-0 loss, lost Pogba in the area as he headed home to restore parity in the space of two minutes, and City's defenders were once again caught off-guard when Smalling was left totally unmarked to turn in Alexis Sanchez's free-kick after 69 minutes.

City were stunned - flaws exposed. Pep Guardiola's side conceded three in 19 minutes at Anfield and three in 16 minutes here. Lightning had struck twice in the space of four days.

It was only the brilliance of De Gea, with a world-class save from substitute Aguero, that stopped City rescuing the respectability of a point - but there was a serious sense of anti-climax around the Etihad at the final whistle.

City felt they were on the wrong end of several decisions from referee Martin Atkinson, particularly when Young clearly followed through on Aguero in the area in the second half, but they only have themselves to blame after the failure to take those first half chances and that second-half defensive collapse.

Indeed, one City supporter - and not a child either - was in tears in his seat in the stand. He will cheer up when the title formalities are complete, but this was a bitter pill to swallow for Guardiola, his team and their fans.

The man Guardiola claimed was offered to Manchester City in January was as off the pace as his team-mates and social media would not have made pleasant reading for the France playmaker.

But how it all turned in the space of two minutes early in the second half as the tall, long-striding Pogba flipped the game on its head and opened up the possibility of a United victory that seemed light years away at half-time.

And what resolve Mourinho's side showed to dig their way out of the hole they found themselves in after 45 minutes, stirring themselves for a comeback that will at least give them pride that they did not allow City to have their title celebration at their expense.

True, they rode their luck as Young somehow escaped punishment for that reckless challenge on Aguero in the area, but they scrapped it out and relished the feisty later exchanges when City's discipline deserted them.

This will not stop City winning the title but it will give United a real sense of satisfaction in a season where they have been comprehensively overshadowed by their neighbours.

What a game yesterday, unfortunately I missed the 2nd half of the United game cos I had guests over and they were showing some pictures.

Also happy with Watford 1-2 Burnley. Was in Watford town shopping, saw lots of Watford fans and a few Burnley fans going to the game, all my mates are naturally Watford fans cos we are locals but I prefer Burnley as that's where my dad's family first lived when they came over to England :).

Pep is overspending on players but the players he is signing aren't world class. He is developing them into world class players. You are so bitter against Pep. All the top clubs in England spend money. Heck your previous Klopp spent £75 million on VVD to improve his defence.

Great comeback by Man Utd against City coming from 2-0 down to win 2-3. On the other hand Everton couldn't even defeat Liverpool second eleven minus the likes of Can and Salah. Chelsea again drew against West Ham, this could be the result that means they won't be in the Champions League next season. Conte will most likely leave as he seems unhappy enough. Man City and Liverpool now clash on Tuesday for a place in the Champions League semi finals. It can not be denied that Arab oil money is greatly responsible for Man City's success yet other teams won't say no to that kind of money either. Of course, it's natural to be jealous and envious of owners who can just buy the league.
