English Willow Type or Grade?

Sometimes the English willow is described as being Grade 1, 2, 3, etc. and sometimes it is described as Type A, etc.

What exactly is the difference between "Type" and "Grade" of English willow?

never heard of type a? is the one which says type a an asian bat?

Type A is what the MCC Grades it as. It's nothing to do with the willow, but the legality of the bat.
