Paris St-Germain have signed France forward Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona for £43.5m (50.4m euros).

Dembele, 26, joined Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund for £135m in 2017 and scored 40 goals in 185 games, winning three La Liga titles.

The 2018 World Cup winner has signed a five-year contract with the Ligue 1 champions.

"I am very happy to join Paris St-Germain and can't wait to play in my new colours," said Dembele.

"I hope I can continue to grow here and make all the club's fans proud."

Dembele, who also won the Copa del Rey twice, signed a new two-year contract at Barcelona last year.

Barca coach Xavi confirmed earlier this month that Dembele wanted to leave the club.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said Dembele, who had a 50m euros release clause in his contract, would be an "important and committed player" for the French side.

He added: "The passion and determination shown by Ousmane as he has signed for PSG is fantastic and perfectly corresponds to the attitude required of all of our players."

Real Madrid defender Eder Militao injured an anterior cruciate ligament in the 2-0 win over Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.

The Brazilian, 25, is the second Real player to sustain the same injury this week, following goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois on Thursday.

Militao was forced off early in the game after hyperextending his left knee.

The club said he will "undergo surgery in the coming days".

England midfielder Jude Bellingham scored his first goal for Real against Bilbao following his summer move from Borussia Dortmund.

The injury to Militao has left manager Carlo Ancelotti with just three fit centre-backs - David Alaba, Antonio Rudiger and Nacho.

Luciano Spalletti, who won the Serie A title with Napoli last season, has been appointed as Italy's new head coach

Decent finish. Kane will find a lot more space in Germany esp on the counter attacks. Not sure what the Bunesliga record is but he could beat it.

Dortmund were very unlucky to miss out on the title on the last game of the season. It wont be straight forward for Bayern this year.

Robert Lewandowski holds the record for the most goals scored in a single Bundesliga season with 41.

Kane will get 30+ I reckon

Very similar strikers in many ways, clinical even though they both lack serious speed.

Im backing Kane to come close to near 40 goals.

Most goals on debut: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Borussia Dortmund), Martin Fenin (Eintracht Frankfurt), Adhemar (VfB Stuttgart), Olaf Marschall (Dynamo Dresden), Hermann Ohlicher (VfB Stuttgart), Engelbert Kraus (1860 Munich) and Erling Haaland (Borussia Dortmund) all scored hat-tricks on their Bundesliga debuts. Only Haaland did so as a substitute.

From 4th place downwards most teams in German league are poor, so no excuse to not fill his boots

RB Leipzig should have been the main challengers to Bayern by now. They have plenty of money but somehow allow their best players to leave. If they can keep their best for 18 months, they can be right up there.

I dont see Bayern as strong as they once were, esp when they won the CL a 3 years ago.

Whats the chances of Arsenal facing Bayern in the CL? Kane could still haunt your club. :)

Kylian Mbappe scored a penalty on his Paris St-Germain return as they were held to a frustrating draw at Toulouse in Ligue 1.

France captain Mbappe, 24, put reigning champions PSG ahead just 11 minutes after coming on as a substitute.

He had been reintroduced to Luis Enrique's squad after a lengthy contract stand-off over the summer.

However, Morocco forward Zakaria Aboukhlal levelled for the hosts late on - also from the penalty spot.

Mbappe's appearance was his first for PSG since a friendly on 21 July after he was omitted from their pre-season tour to Japan and South Korea and then missed their opening 0-0 league draw against Lorient.

He had been training with players the club are trying to offload after he refused to sign an extension to his PSG deal, but he was brought back into the fold last Sunday after holding "constructive and positive discussions".

Defending La Liga champions Barcelona marked their first home game at the city's Olympic Stadium with a 2-0 win over Cadiz.

The Spanish giants are playing at the ground while the Nou Camp is refurbished and it looked like they would have to settle for a draw.

But Pedri opened the scoring late on after receiving a superb pass from ex-Manchester City captain Ilkay Gundogan.

Ferran Torres then drove home in stoppage time to wrap up the victory.

Barca began their campaign with a goalless draw against Getafe in last week's opener. Sunday's win moves them on to four points after two games, two points behind early leaders Real Madrid.

There was also a landmark moment for the hosts as Lamine Yamal became the youngest player to start a league match for Barcelona, aged just 16 years and 38 days.

England midfielder Jude Bellingham scored an 81st-minute winner to help Real Madrid ease past Celta Vigo and maintain their 100% start in La Liga.

Bellingham headed in Joselu's flick-on to register his fourth league goal in just his third appearance.

Celta might have had an early lead but the video assistant referee (VAR) ruled out Jorgen Strand Larsen's strike.

Their keeper Ivan Villar then saved Rodrygo's second-half penalty having brought the forward down in the area.

Madrid were far from their best in a frantic match and were fortunate Larsen was adjudged to have fouled visiting keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in the build-up to his third-minute finish.

In the closing stages though they upped the pressure, with former Borussia Dortmund star Bellingham's header into the far corner the difference at Estadio Municipal de Balaidos.

The one blot for the visitors was an injury for forward Vinicius Junior, who limped off with what appeared to be a hamstring strain in the 18th minute.

Kylian Mbappe's double helped Paris St-Germain beat Lens to claim their first Ligue win of the season.

Making his first start of the campaign following a dispute over his future at the club, the French forward thumped a first-time effort into the top corner to double the hosts' lead and added his second late on.

Marco Asensio's curling effort had put PSG ahead on the stroke of half-time.

But Morgan Guilavogui got one back for Lens with the last kick of the game.

Mbappe, who came off the bench to score at Toulouse last weekend, was lively from the off and had PSG's best two chances of the first half but denied by Lens keeper Brice Samba in the first instance before his deflected effort was cleared off the line.

A surging run from Vitinho created the opening for Asensio, whose shot took a slight nick off the defender before the ball found the bottom corner.

Lucas Hernandez then teed up Mbappe for the second eight minutes after the break before Mbappe and Guilavogui each benefitted from ricochets to find the net in added time at the end of the match.

After two draws to start the campaign, victory lifts Luis Enrique's side up to fifth.

England captain Harry Kane scored twice on his home Bundesliga debut for Bayern Munich as the champions continued their winning start to the league season.

Defending La Liga champions Barcelona emerged 4-3 winners in an all-action encounter at Villarreal.

A Polish top-flight goalkeeper has suffered hand injuries after allegedly being attacked by Wisla Krakow fans.

Kewin Komar, 20, who plays for newly-promoted Puszcza Niepolomice, is likely to miss the autumn round of fixtures.

Komar got two assists as Puszcza beat Wisla Krakow in a league promotion play-off semi-final before his side were promoted to the Ekstraklasa.

Wisla representatives said it is co-operating with authorities to "immediately clarify the matter".

The club added that it "strongly opposes any acts of aggression, violence or hatred, as well as any form of violation of personal integrity".

The incident took place on Saturday night during a festival in the southern Polish town of Wisnicz Maly.

A spokesperson for Puszcza Niepolomice said: "The police are currently dealing with the case and we are waiting for the results of their actions. At this moment, we also do not have a diagnosis of Kevin's hand injury".

Atletico Madrid hammered city rivals Rayo Vallecano 7-0 for their biggest ever away win in La Liga.

Diego Simone's side were 3-0 up inside 36 minutes as Antoine Griezmann, Memphis Depay and Nahuel Molina got on the scoresheet.

Four goals in 13 second-half minutes then completed the rout with Alvaro Morata netting twice, alongside Angel Correa and Marcos Llorente.

Atletico move second, two points behind Real Madrid after three games.

"We had a great game from the start, with a lot of intensity," said France forward Griezmann.

"They're three important points and I'm very happy with the team's work."

The only blemish on the result for Atletico was losing Dutch forward Depay to injury in the first half.

The result was only the second time Atletico have scored seven goals in a La Liga match in the 21st century, after beating Getafe by the same scoreline in 2013.

Barcelona's Fati: Brighton set to sign Spain forward on season-long loan.

pain forward Ansu Fati is set to complete a surprise season-long loan move to Brighton from Barcelona.

Fati has fallen down the pecking order at Barcelona, who need to create some space in their squad to sign Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo on loan.

Brighton's deal for the 20-year-old does not include an obligation to buy.

Tottenham had also been linked with Fati but he is understood to have been impressed by Brighton's style of play under manager Roberto de Zerbi.

If the deal goes through as planned, it would be a major coup for Brighton, who will be playing European football this season for the first time having qualified for the Europa League.

Fati, who was born in Guinea-Bissau but chose to represent Spain and was part of their World Cup squad last year, is widely viewed as one of the most promising young players in the game.

In 2021, he signed a new contract with Barcelona to run until 2027 and included a 1bn euro buyout clause.

Barcelona have signed Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix and Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo on loan.

Both are season-long loans and neither agreement includes an option to buy.

Porgual international Cancelo, 29, spent last season on loan at Bayern Munich having fallen out of favour at the Etihad.

While compatriot Felix, 23, who joined Atletico for £113m in 2019, had an unsuccessful six-month loan spell at Chelsea last season.

Felix, who has also extended his Atletico contract until 2029, scored four goals in 20 games for Chelsea.

He has not played for Atletico since January and previously said playing for Barcelona was his "dream".

Cancelo moved to City from Juventus for £60m in 2019 and went on to play an integral part in two Premier League titles and was named in the PFA Team of the Year in 2021 and 2022.

Barcelona's financial issues meant they have had to wait to sign the Portuguese pair but Ansu Fati's move to Brighton helped smooth the transfers through.

Lautaro Martinez scored twice as Inter Milan thrashed Fiorentina at the San Siro to move to the top of Serie A.

France forward Marcus Thuram scored his first goal since a summer move from Borussia Monchengladbach, with a diving header to put the hosts in front.

Argentina striker Martinez then swept home twice either side of Hakan Calhanoglu's penalty.

The result maintains Inter's 100% start to the new campaign, lifting them above city rivals AC on goal difference.

Meanwhile, goals from former Manchester City defender Danilo and Federico Chiesa helped Juventus to a comfortable 2-0 win at Empoli.

Massimiliano Allegri's side sit third in the table and are one of four sides, along with AC Milan, Inter and Leece, to be unbeaten after three games in the Italian top flight.

Lecce, who are fourth, won 2-0 against Salernitana, while Torino beat Genoa 1-0 in Sunday's other matches.

oao Cancelo and Joao Felix made their Barcelona debuts as second-half substitutes as they edged out Osasuna for a dramatic La Liga win.

Jules Kounde scored the opening goal for the defending champions as he headed in from Ilkay Gundogan's corner at the end of the first half.

Chily Avila leathered in a lovely equaliser from the edge of the box.

But Robert Lewandowski scored a late winner from the penalty spot after he was fouled by Alejandro Catena.

Catena was initially booked, although it was upgraded to a red card by the video assistant referee.

Manchester City full-back Cancelo and Atletico Madrid forward Felix, both Portugal internationals, joined Barcelona on loan on deadline day.

It was a first La Liga appearance for 29-year-old Cancelo since his final Valencia game in August 2017.

Felix, who ended last season on loan at Chelsea, remains the third most expensive footballer ever after his £113m move from Benfica to Atletico in 2019.

Barcelona also brought on a third debutant, former Athletic Bilbao defender Inigo Martinez, late on.

They move onto 10 points from four games.

Meanwhile, Atletico's home match with Sevilla on Sunday was postponed because of torrential rain.

Several weather warnings have been issued across Spain as heavy rain causes major flooding across parts of the country with maximum red weather alerts in place in Madrid.

Hansi Flick has been sacked as Germany manager following Saturday's 4-1 friendly defeat by Japan in Wolfsburg.

He becomes the first Germany boss to be sacked since the role was created in 1926.

Germany have lost four of their past five games, with Flick overseeing just 12 wins in his 25 matches since replacing Joachim Low in August 2021.

Rudi Voller, who managed the team from 2000 to 2004, takes temporary charge for Tuesday's friendly with France.

The 63-year-old Voller, a former Germany striker, was appointed director of the German national side in February.

He will be assisted by Hannes Wolf and Sandro Wagner.

Germany host the men's European Championship next year but have been in disarray.

German FA president Bernd Neuendorf said: "The committee agreed that the German national team needs a fresh impetus after the recent disappointing results.

"Going into the European Championship next summer, we need confidence and optimism in the country regarding our team.

"This has been one of the most difficult decisions I have had to make during my time in this role because I really respect Hansi Flick and his assistants, both on a professional and personal level.

"Sporting success is of the upmost importance to the DFB, which is why this decision had to be made."

Flick, 58, had been Low's assistant manager with Germany from 2006 to 2014.

His time in charge began with eight successive wins, but their form progressively got worse and Germany exited last year's World Cup at the group stage.

His assistants Marcus Sorg and Danny Rohl have also been dismissed.

Oman, Costa Rica and Peru are the only teams Germany have beaten in the past 12 months.

Such a disappointing performance came as a surprise considering Flick won 70 of his 86 games in charge of Bayern Munich from November 2019 to June 2021.

Under Flick, Bayern won a treble of the domestic league and cup and Champions League titles in the 2019-20 season.

After the Japan defeat, Flick said he was "brutally disappointed" but thought he remained the "right manager" for Germany.

However he ominously added: "Things can change in professional football and I can't see what's to come."

Kane scores as Bayern and Leverkusen draw thriller

Harry Kane scored his 300th career club goal as Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen drew a Bundesliga thriller.

Kane headed in for his fourth goal in four Bundesliga games before Alex Grimaldo levelled with a brilliant free-kick into the top corner.

Leon Goretzka scored what looked like a Bayern winner with four minutes to go from Mathys Tel's cutback.

But Exequiel Palacios netted a penalty, awarded by the video assistant referee, in injury time to rescue Leverkusen.

Dayot Upamecano thought he had scored Bayern's winner with almost the last kick but it was ruled out for offside.

Kane's close-range opener made him the first Bayern player to score four goals in his first four Bundesliga games since Miroslav Klose in 2007.

It brought his club career total to 300, with 280 for Tottenham, nine for Millwall, five for Leyton Orient, four for Bayern and two for Leicester.

Bayern and Leverkusen both lose their 100% starts to the season but maintain their unbeaten records.

Barcelona thumped Real Betis 5-0 to go top of La Liga and extend their unbeaten run to five matches.

Inter Milan continued their perfect start to the Serie A season as they thrashed AC Milan 5-1.

Roma won for the first time this Serie A season as Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala were among the scorers in a 7-0 rout of Empoli.

Real Madrid came from behind to extend their 100% start to the season to five games with a 2-1 win against Real Sociedad at the Bernabeu Stadium.

Former France defender Benjamin Mendy played his first professional football game for more than two years on Sunday.

Record-breaking Kane scores hat-trick in Bayern's 7-0 demolition of Bochum

MUNICH, Germany, Sept 23- Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane scored a hat-trick in their 7-0 demolition of VfL Bochum on Saturday to take his league goal tally to seven and set a club record for most goals by a player in his first five Bundesliga matches.

Kane's three goals put him above club great Gerd Mueller, Miroslav Klose and Mario Mandzukic who all scored five times in their first five games.

The Bavarians, who beat Manchester United 4-3 in their Champions League opener on Wednesday, move up to 13 points in top spot from five Bundesliga games. Bayer Leverkusen, on 10, could join them if they beat Heidenheim on Sunday.

England captain Kane, who became the Bundesliga's most expensive transfer ever when he joined the German champions this season for 100 million euros ($106.52 million), struck his first goal after benefiting from a lucky bounce in the 13th minute.

Earlier, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting had tapped in for a fourth-minute lead from a perfectly-timed Kingsley Coman assist.

The hosts quickly killed off the game with two more goals before the break.

Reus goal hands Dortmund nervous 1-0 win over Wolfsburg

DORTMUND, Germany, Sept 23 Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus slotted in a second half winner to give his team a 1-0 victory over in-form VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday after a largely toothless game.

Dortmund had more than 60% possession in the first half but apart from a curled Reus free kick into the top corner that keeper Koen Casteels palmed wide, they had little to show for in terms of chances.

Despite six changes to the team that lost 2-0 on Tuesday to Paris St Germain in their Champions League opener, coach Edin Terzic could not inject any sense of urgency into his side in the first half.
They did pick up the pace after the break and came close with Julian Brandt before Reus completed a move launched by substitute Donyell Malen in the 68th for the winner.

Dortmund are on 11 points, two off leaders Bayern Munich.

Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface scored twice in a 4-1 victory over promoted Heidenheim on Sunday, as his team joined Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga with their fourth win in five league games.

The 22-year-old Nigerian, who joined Leverkusen this season, has now netted six times to equal the club record for most goals by a player in the first five games of a season.

Xabi Alonso's team dominated throughout but wasted a bagful of chances after leading 1-0, allowing Heidenheim to briefly come back.

Ajax's match against Feyenoord on Sunday was abandoned in the 56th minute after home supporters threw flares and fireworks on to the pitch.

Visitors Feyenoord went 3-0 up in the first half at the Johan Cruyff Arena, prompting the first flares to be thrown.

The match was temporarily paused and then called off when trouble restarted.

"De Klassieker is permanently stopped after repeated fireworks on the field," said a statement from the Eredivisie.

Alvaro Morata scored twice as Atletico Madrid ended Real Madrid's 100% start to the La Liga season with a fine 3-1 victory over their city rivals.

Kylian Mbappe went off with a suspected ankle injury as Paris St-Germain returned to winning ways in Ligue 1 with an easy 4-0 victory over Marseille.

Santiago Gimenez completed his hat-trick to wrap up a 4-0 win for Feyenoord against Ajax in Wednesday's restarted Eredivisie fixture.

De Klassieker was abandoned in the 56th minute on Sunday, with Feyenoord leading 3-0, after fans threw flares on to the field.

Trouble continued after the game with police using tear gas outside the stadium.

Wednesday's encounter was played behind closed doors.

Gimenez scored twice in the opening 18 minutes on Sunday and Igor Paixao put the visitors 3-0 ahead after 37 minutes.

The Mexican's third came just three minutes after the game resumed on Wednesday's, stroking in from close range to become the first Feyenoord player to score a hat-trick in an Eredivisie away game at Ajax.

The victory means Feyenoord remain unbeaten after six fixtures, winning four and drawing two, and they sit third in the Eredivisie, while Ajax have recorded just one win from five games - two points clear of the relegation zone in 14th.

Referee Serdar Gozubuyuk paused Sunday's game at 2-0 when a plastic cup was thrown on to the pitch, then had to stop it a second time when fireworks were thrown on the field at 3-0, before the third offence saw the fixture abandoned.

Trouble continued after the game, known as De Klassieker, was called off with police using tear gas to stop rioting fans outside the stadium.

Amsterdam police said some of the home supporters tried to break into the ground.

Feyenoord's players and staff had to stay in their dressing room for some time until it was safe to leave. They had not been allowed to have fans at the game.

This type of behaviour is not a part of Ajax, said a club statement.

Ajax coach Maurice Steijn said: It is a jet-black day; this makes it even worse.

The club's statement added: Ajax's management and supervisory board distance themselves from the misconduct that led to the suspension of the match against Feyenoord and the disturbances afterwards. Disappointment about the season's poor start is understandable but can never be the cause of disorderly conduct. We apologise to everyone who has felt unsafe or has been affected in any other way.

A sign on the big screen at Johan Cruijff Arena had reminded Ajax fans that the lighting of fireworks is prohibited, but the message was ignored by a section of supporters.

It is especially annoying that this match ends like this, said Feyenoord boss Arne Slot. The chance for something very beautiful is taken away from us. We understand the decision that has been taken, but we do not feel a sense of victory and we certainly won't get on the bus satisfied.

Ajax finished third last season and failed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in 13 seasons as Feyenoord won the title.

Director of general affairs Jan van Halst said: We currently have no clarity about how this match will be handled. We are particularly disappointed that this match turned out this way. This is very hard on the entire organisation. It is one of the most important matches in Dutch football and it has been stopped. That is extremely sad. It is a bad start to the season. We understand the disappointment. But to express it through this behaviour, we disapprove.

Real Madrid returned to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Las Palmas at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored a superb first goal for AC Milan as they came from behind to win 3-1 at Cagliari.

Paris St-Germain have made their worst start to a season under owners Qatar Sports Investment after being held to a goalless draw by Ligue 1 strugglers Clermont.

The result means Luis Enrique's side have 12 points after seven league games, their lowest tally at this stage of a season since the 2010-11 campaign.

Although the French champions were boosted by the return of Kylian Mbappe after he limped off in last weekend's 4-0 win over Marseille, he had a frustrating afternoon and was booked for diving late in the game.

Clermont goalkeeper Mory Diaw, who played for PSG as a youngster, did well to deny a number of efforts from Mbappe, Randal Kolo Muani and Ousmane Dembele before the break.

His best save came in the second half when he clawed away a Goncalo Ramos effort despite going to ground early, and he rounded off his performance with a crucial stop to deny Danilo Pereira's header.

PSG head into Wednesday's Champions League game against Newcastle second in Ligue 1, one point behind surprise leaders Brest, who have a game in hand.

The Ligue 1 match between Montpellier and Clermont was abandoned on Sunday when visiting goalkeeper Mory Diaw was stunned by a firework that exploded next to him after being thrown from the stands.

With the game in injury time and hosts Montpellier leading 4-2, a pyrotechnic landed near Diaw and went off as he was preparing to take a goal-kick.

After receiving treatment on the field, the 30-year-old was carried off on a stretcher, with the game called off following a crisis meeting of officials.

FULL TIME (Bundesliga): Bayern Munich 8-0 Darmstadt 98

England captain Harry Kane scored an incredible goal from his own half and got a hat-trick as Bayern Munich thrashed Darmstadt 8-0.

Kane continued his stellar start to Bundesliga life as he extended his record to 12 goals in nine games.

He broke the deadlock after a first half that included three red cards, before netting twice more.

Leroy Sane and Jamal Musiala each got doubles while Thomas Muller also scored in the comfortable win.

Kane's long-range goal took advantage of Marcel Schuhen standing off his line, with the former Tottenham striker launching the ball over the Darmstadt goalkeeper's head after Bayern had overturned possession in their own half.

The game also saw Bayern and Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer make his return after breaking his leg while skiing in December 2022.

The result means Bayern lead the Bundesliga with a one-point advantage, although they could be knocked off the top spot if Bayer Leverkusen beat Freiburg on Sunday.

Thomas Tuchel's Bayern face Borussia Dortmund next weekend.

Darmstadt are 14th and sit just two points above the relegation places.

FULL TIME (La Liga): Barcelona 1-2 Real Madrid

Jude Bellingham scored an incredible equaliser and a 92nd-minute winner to help Real Madrid come from behind to beat rivals Barcelona on his first El Clasico appearance.

Ilkay Gundogan's first Barca goal had put the hosts ahead after six minutes.

But Bellingham smashed a sensational leveller in the 68th minute, finding the top corner from 30 yards out.

The England midfielder then netted an injury-time volley to continue his fairytale start to his Real career.

Bellingham, 20, now has 13 goals in 16 matches for club and country this season.

Kylian Mbappe scored twice as Paris St-Germain fended off a Brest fightback to win and move up to second in Ligue 1.

Warren Zaire-Emery put the visitors ahead with a shot from distance early on before Mbappe's deflected finish appeared to have them in control.

Steve Mounie got one back for Brest with a header before Jeremy le Douaron nodded in an equaliser.

But Mbappe slotted in the winner late on after his initial penalty was denied.

It was harsh on Brest, who had looked the most likely to grab the winner as Gianluigi Donnarumma made some crucial saves.

The win stretches PSG's unbeaten run in Ligue 1 to five games and moves them to within a point of leaders Nice.

Brest, meanwhile, are sixth.

Dwamena was playing for Egnatia against Partizani on Saturday.

"Despite the immediate intervention of specialist doctors he unfortunately passed away," said the Albanian Football Federation (AFL).

Dwamena was the leading scorer in the Albanian league this season with nine goals. He had won nine caps and scored two goals for his country.

Saturday's match was abandoned and the federation has postponed all games scheduled in Albania this week.

"The AFL expresses its deepest condolences to the Dwamena family and the Egnatia club for this great loss that has shocked the entire Albanian football community," the federation added.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) said it sent "our deepest condolences to his family at this difficult moment".

"He served his country well and showed class any time he represented Ghana," GFA president Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku said in a statement.

In 2017 a proposed £14m move to Brighton fell through after Dwamena failed a medical. He went on to represent Levante in La Liga and also played for Real Zaragoza on loan.

In 2021 he collapsed during a cup match in Austria between his side Blau-Weiss Linz and Hartberg, but recovered and continued his playing career.

He reportedly had a heart operation and had an automatic defibrillator implanted.

"Our thoughts are with his family and his loved ones in these difficult moments. His legacy in our club will last forever," Levante said on social media.

Zaragoza also paid tribute, saying: "We are devastated by the sad news of the passing of our former player Raphael Dwamena. You will always be in the memory of Zaragoza´s fans. Rest in peace."

Victor Osimhen: Napoli striker chose what was 'good for career' over Saudi Arabia move

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen says he made the decision which was "good for his career" after being linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in the summer.

Reports suggested the 24-year-old - valued by Napoli at £173m - would join Al-Hilal, who had already signed Wolves captain Ruben Neves and Neymar.

The Nigeria forward scored 31 goals in all competitions last season to help Napoli win the Serie A title.

"The more I said no to them, the more they increased it," Osimhen said.

"That week was a huge decision for me to make but I put everything in God's hands.

"It was literally like 'wow, this is surreal'. I spoke with the people in charge and spoke about it with the club."

Speaking on The Obi One Podcast, he added: "They never gave up until the end of their own transfer window. I said before I played the first game of the season I really don't want to go back thinking that it was going to change my life.

"But I had to make the decision what is good for my career, as much as we play football for the money."

Barcelona remain third in La Liga after a late own goal rescued a draw at Rayo Vallecano.

Trailing at the break to Unai Lopez's stunning strike, Barca dominated the second half but missed good chances.

They finally got their reward when Florian Lejeune bundled into his own net under pressure from Robert Lewandowski.

Second-placed Real Madrid face Cadiz on Sunday while leaders Girona host Athletic Bilbao on Monday.

Barcelona made six changes from the side that came from behind to beat Alaves before the international break, with goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen an absence through injury.

His replacement, Inaki Pena, looked shaky from the off and was beaten by Lopez's ferocious right-foot effort midway through the first half.

Frustrated by a disjointed display, boss Xavi turned to former Manchester City captain Ilkay Gundogan from the bench and Barcelona dominated the second half.

However, despite taking 10 shots to Rayo's three after the break, they still needed the help of Lejeune in the 82nd minute, as he clumsily steered the ball past his own goalkeeper with

Bayer Leverkusen equal Bundesliga record to go back above Bayern Munich

Bayer Leverkusen returned to the top of the Bundesliga with a 3-0 win over Werder Bremen that equalled the best start in the history of the league.

Their record of 11 wins and one draw after 12 games matches Bayern Munich's effort in 2015-16.

An own goal from Olivier Deman put Leverkusen ahead before Jeremie Frimpong and Alex Grimaldo secured the win for Xabi Alonso's side.

Leverkusen are two points clear of Bayern, who beat FC Koln 1-0 on Friday.
