Really glad that she has managed to bring out the best in Usama, he was really struggling prior to PSL 9 and somehow, now, he is the top wicket taker!

Yeah Usama Mir has been so much better recently. Not sure how long of a contract Hartley signed but surely she will get an extension.

In the interview, she said she is ready to work longer and wants to set up spin camps. Let's hope she does!
I think with Ali Tahreen in charge, she will have the opportunity to go ahead.

She is having a good run with MS. Hope our spinners perform the same way after PSL.

Good to see how confident she is while working in Pakistan. The reason for her success is that she instills confidence in the youngsters encouraging them to give their 100%. This is what we seen in Usama Mir we knew he had the ability and all he needed was the right direction which Alex Hartley has provided him. Hopefully she will work with internatrional team too in the future.

Lol..soon as we lose something our misogynistic and racist boomers will destroy her..I hope she stays at the sultans and keeps away from tge toxic national setup

Usama Mir? Every country has at least 30 better spinners than him. He is as bad as Nawaz. Shadab still better than these 2 useless bowlers. Judging a player by PSL performance is the last thing we need.

They are trying to figure out the actions of Usman Tariq.

What a great interview. She sounds knowledgeable likeable and very sincere. Hopefully she will develop strong links with the coaching staff and be an assistant spin coach with the national team. I think Pak really needs to modernise their approach to coaching and bring in somebody young who can bring us in line with international standards. Sometimes it looks like the PCB is just stuck in the dark ages.

Judging a player by PSL performance is absolutely what we need. What else will you judge them on??? Choose players on merit who are performing. That's not. No need to overcomplicate things. Those performing well in these tournaments should definitely be picked for the national side. And those who failed to perform, well sucks for them try harder next time

Hopefully Alex and Cath will be retained by Sultans.

By all accounts, they did a good job and the players took on board their advice.

Absolutely — just heard her on her “No Balls” podcast with Kate Cross and she came across really well.
Genuinely committed to the team cause, real connection with the players and demonstrably improved some of the players.
Nothing more can be asked of a coach.

I wonder what the players will have to say about working with Alex and Cath at the PSL.

the way Pakistan women's team has been humiliated in the last few matches, why didn't the PCB hire Alex Hartley as head coach or spin consultant for the English series? Her experience could have helped our girls a lot to at least give the opponents a fight.

Hartley shocked at snub from ex-England team-mate

Alex Hartley has been "shocked" at being given "the cold shoulder" by England players during the Women's Ashes because of comments the former spinner made about the team's fitness.

Hartley, who is working as a pundit for the BBC and other television networks in Australia, says she was refused a TV interview by former England team-mate Sophie Ecclestone during the first T20 game on Monday.

The 31-year-old questioned the fitness levels of some of England's players last autumn following their early exit from the T20 World Cup.

"I've been hung out to dry," Hartley, who retired as a player in 2023, told the BBC Test Match Special podcast.

"The reason I said England aren't as fit as Australia is because I want them to compete, I want them to be better and I want them to win.

"But I've been given the cold shoulder ever since - not by everyone, but a few individuals, coaches and players. They haven't looked at me."

Defeat on Monday was England's fourth from four games in Australia, meaning they surrendered the Ashes at the earliest opportunity.

England again dropped catches, as they did in being knocked out of last year's T20 World Cup at the hands of West Indies.

Following that exit, Hartley said: "About 80% of the England team are fit and athletic enough, but there are girls in that side who are letting the team down when it comes to fitness."

Coach Jon Lewis responded by saying he did not believe that criticism was fair, adding that "our players are very fit".

"I'm surprised that people would say that, actually," he said. "Fitness was absolutely nothing to do with us losing that game."

"Clearly I have upset them," Hartley, who was England's second-highest wicket-taker in their successful 2017 World Cup campaign, said on Monday.

"Jon Lewis has said there isn't a problem with fitness in his squad. They think I am wrong, which is fine - I'm entitled to my opinions and they are entitled to theirs.

"It is my job to say something that needs to be better and I did. The way I have been treated since I think has been totally unfair."

The England and Wales Cricket Board was contacted by the BBC but did not wish to give a response.

Hartley wrote on X on Tuesday: "To be clear, there are some members of the England team who have been really disappointing, but by no means all.

"For some, friendships remain unchanged. For others, I've been shocked and surprised by their response."

I think this lady likes to make some provocative statements to get attention.

She is otherwise on air fairly mild mannered and ok commentator
