Expressing solidarity: Imran Khan arrives in Quetta

QUETTA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan arrived in Quetta to join grieving families of over 100 dead in recent bombings, as the sit-in enters its third day today, Express News reported Sunday.

Khan arrived in the provincial capital to express solidarity with the protesting families, who have been staging a sit-in at Alamdar Road, where hundreds of protesters have gathered since Friday near the snooker hall that was the scene of Thursday’s twin suicide attacks, alongside 86 coffins carrying the victims’ shrouded bodies.

Even 36 hours after the deaths of their loved ones, the families say they will not bury their dead, unless the army takes control of the provincial capital and protects members of their sect from vigilante-style wings of extremist groups.

Banned militant group Lashkar-e-Jhangvi claimed responsibility for the bombings, which took place in an area dominated by the Hazara community and killed 102 people, with over 200 wounded.

Demonstrations are expected to pour in key cities, including Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar.

Easier to do that when you are not in gov.

A moronic statement. Why is it easier to show more humanity when not in power. I suppose you would have to take out time from looting(as thats the only reason the PPP/PML are in power for) to care for the people.

This man is a blessing from Allah (swt) to the poor and hard working people of Pakistan.

InshaAllah will wipe the slate clean on election day. I am expecting a massive change in Government .

Shame on Zardari and Gov of this forsaken country!

:imran is a man of the people....he is the only one who cares.

I have no doubt that he can fix all our problems, I just pray that Allah keeps him safe, healthy and that he gets an opportunity to sort us out.

No other politician cares for Pakistan, all they care about is looting the country. Imran is our only hope

He is back in Lahore and was holding an emergency meeting with his team there as reported by media a few hours ago. Any outcome?

^^

All support to #WeAreAllHazara Movement and staying away from long March... Fauzia Kasuri was just on CNBC...

Also confirmed by Insaf Youth Wing President Candidate in PTI Intra Party Election... He just spoke to Imran Khan himself :)

The rumors are result of heavy spending by TUQ on media.. He is beating PPP and PMLN in their game :)

^^ I thought he was considering to join the march but anyway it's good to wait and watch.

I just talked to a girl who is present in Dharna at Numaish Chorangi since last night. She said they are not going anywhere unless Govt meets their demand.

Waqt News reporting that CM Balochistan will resign tomorrow on his arrival at Quetta.

Good stuff from Imran. I hope that he stays there with the protestors until this issue is resolved

^^

He is back in Lahore... was attending a #PTI meeting on the mess that Pakistan is right now...

Dunya News just reported that they are discussing about joining the long march.

Pardon my ignorance but what exact are the demands ? I hope they are concrete.

Brilliant work from Imran. No mainstream political leader has done this yet. The begairat pipliyas are hiding somewhere in their palaces while Imran is out their with the victims of pipliya incompetence.

I was talking with two shia friends back in pak, and acc. to them in the last 2 days Imran has won alot of hearts within the shia community.

actually we have had a handshake deal with Majlis-e-Wahad ul-Muslimeen the main Shia organization behind these protests for a while now and it's an electoral alliance :D... People are just finding out about it now :)

Just saw on Geo. PML N leaders Saad Rafiq and Zulfiqar Khosa not allowed to address the dharna. What were they thinking...didnt they just make an alliance with LeJ?!

^^

LOL.. Yup they have an alliance with SSP.. to be fair to them even SSP considers LEJ to be bunch of nutcases.

Okay this is not a Rumor

Governor Rule will be imposed in Balochistan shortly.

The question remains. What about protesters demand regarding Army take over in Quetta?

Sharjeel Memon of PPP gets beaten up by protesters outside Bilawal House Karachi :)

One has to give credit to the Hazara community for their peaceful protest and how they conducted the talks with the PM. Hazara community showed lot of maturity in the talks. It is very impressive how they put forth their demands.

Is anyone watching the PM press conference in Quetta. What was the garma garmi all about? Kaira was getting worked up when i started watching.

I was hoping Imran would visit Quetta and he did and he is getting due appreciation for that.

Protests by Hazara community has actually woken up quite a few people and people from all sectors are supporting them which is great to see. Disagreements about our beliefs will be there for centuries so we must educate young generation to respect belief of others and ban organisations that spread religious disharmony.

An evil act by evil people. How anyone can call themselves muslims after these callous acts is beyond me. Even the worst non believers wouldn`t be so inhumane.

So Dharnas is Lahore, Karachi and Quetta. And from the looks of things, they dharnas are not small.

The entire country showing solidarity with the shias.

Imran showing what a real leader does. Whereas zardari and nawaz sending their poodles to talk to the people, only to be beaten up

nothing will happen and these protests will fall on deaf ears as the politicians sitting in islamabad need these groups to win elections in southern punjab; the army still consider them to be an asset when nato leaves afghanistan and in kashmir. waste of time... pakistanis need to use their vote and get themselves out of these turbulent times.

fools..bhutto zinda hay and he'll be arriving to make sure democracy is the best revenge!! haain.

I was looking for this thread to show the real face of Bhuttos and Zardaris. Will never forget people sitting on road with dead bodies in extreme winters and PPP govt had no answer they were not even interested to go and talk to those innocent people. Where was Bilawal the co chairman at that time and other Bhuttos? so called champions of humanity
