Let's not shift goalposts.
You said his poor hitting was worrying you. If you had ever watched him in domestic cricket you would know he was a good hitter. He is infinitely better than Anwar and Bilawal.
As for comparisons, please find a post where I compared him to Stokes or anyone else. Also, that criticism applies just as much to Pandya- posters need to stop hyping him and comparing him to other players given he is also still in the early days of his career.
Also please don't make up things just to suit your conclusion. None of the sixes he hit against Bangladesh were on the shorter side. Like I said, if you had ever watched him in domestic you would know about his power hitting capability.
I don't watch much domestic cricket apart from the PSL. The coverage is too poor to waste time on.
Secondly, I didn't claim that I have watched him play in domestic cricket. Maybe If I had, I would not be skeptical about his hitting abilities. However, that is not the case and I don't pay much heed to the PP hype machine, which is why I am only going to judge by what I see in international cricket.
From what I have seen, I don't think he is in the same league as someone like Pandya as far hitting is concerned, and I believe that quite a bit of the hype has been driven by out desperation to find a hard-hitting all-rounder. Imad was overhyped as batsman in his early days for the same reasons. Quite a few people were comparing him to Yuvraj in terms of batting style, especially after the England series where he batted well.
I don't have to look for posts because it is not about you. You are a new poster and I haven't posted much this year so I don't have a good measure of your views, but I have seen a few posters who are comparing him to Stokes and Pandya.
The same doesn't apply "as much" to Pandya because he has produced some notable performances already. The knocks against Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Australia are far more significant than anything Fahim has done so far, who has simply not done anything yet.
Yes he hasn't had the opportunity yet, but why not wait before has the opportunity and he has done something before starting with the comparisons?
Pandya vs Stokes comparison is more logical at this point because Pandya has some performances under his belt unlike Fahim. If Fahim plays the type of knocks that Pandya has over the last few months, PPers will end up comparing him to Sobers let alone Stokes.
You seem to be insisting on the notion that both Pandya and Fahim are equal footing at this point but unfortunately that is not the case. Fahim has quite some catching up to do for various reasons, and if he catches up with him, then by all means compare him to Pandya.
If you have issues with people writing Fahim off before he has been given an opportunity, your complaint is probably valid. However, if you have a problem with people calling a Pandya vs Fahim comparison foolish at this point then I'm afraid you don't have much of a case.
Similarly, there is not much substance in the argument that Pandya vs Stokes at this point is as foolish as Fahim vs Stokes.
