With so much discussion going on about fake TRDs on ebay I thought that I should create this thread for pointing out fake deals for us to be a little careful of. Feel free to post when you find something suspicious. These sellers should be banned and sued..grrrr

Here is a start:

Been following this guy for sometime now. He is based out of Pakistan and his fakes are really difficult to spot.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CA-12000-Pl...cketBats_SM&hash=item336fe244bf#ht_500wt_1287

The bat has the burnt CA logo and everything but the grains are not that of a TRD; probably put the TRD stickers on a lower range bat.

And also all these guys who have even knicked the pics off Uzi sports ..lol.

Oh--and to add to that the first seller has this website too:

sialkotsport.com----where he is selling TRDs for 196 dollars with free delivery to the US :O

Both the sellers are still using your pics; did you complain to Ebay yet?

This one might be genuine I feel. Need a better look of the blade face though.

On a closer look it seems fake as the side sticker is off-center, if it makes sense that is...lol.

Lots of bats are bought on ebay/online and many users would like to share their judgement about what they think of these products. I thought we can have a dedicated thread on what bats people want to check out.

I will start- do you think this is a genuine bat?

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/CA-Plus-...g_Equipment&hash=item3a6e7ca929#ht_499wt_1416

Both same links, to me it looks genuine.

It would be better if we knew what colour was the grip etc

It looked okay to me at first glance as well but look at the picture of the grains--- the grains on the right side look very un-TRD like. Also, the stickers on the side are not put in a harmonious pattern. Again, these are my observations :)

Pretty sure that it is fake. The Dilshan sticker is to close to the CA sign

Bumping this up for everyone's benefit. Please feel free to submit links for all the fake CA TRDs (and other bats too) you find on Ebay.

@CD: can we change title and make this a sticky?

Thanks CD.

What about Fake Bats on Ebay? I think this might be helpful for the forum members as we have all been duped at one time or the other :)

Here is one where the profile picture is taken from Armie's store; the real pics show the fakeness of the TRDs they are selling:

These guys are using Asadbhai's pics..lol:

These guys look authentic but trust me they are not; the neutral feedback is from someone I know personally:

I don't know if the product being sold here is a fake, no pictures provided. However, the price seems way too low. They sell for more in Pakistan.

Good spot; a friend of mine got a bat advertised as CA TRD from a seller called 'commodities sales' or something like that on the internet and when he got the bat he saw a black and white brochure for Hameed and Sons. The bat he got was of course fake. So any local guys reading this might wanna drop into their shop and give them a thorough spanking!! If the shop really exists physically that is....

I think their store is online only, since they don't have anything about a physical shop on their website. All I know is that they are based in Australia, don't know what city.

The brochure that I saw said they were located in Pakistan--don't remember whether it was Lahore or Sialkot. Maybe the fraudsters were using the name of a legit shop? Very difficult to really comprehend some of the scams that happen. I don't think they are based in Australia, in fact I am quite positive about that.

And just to add--- the website reminds me of cricketfains.com but with no picture of a fake owner in it..lol

Hmm.... They are either based in Australia or their website is hosted in Australia because I did a google search to only show pages from Australia, and hammedandsons site came up.:butt

I'm so glad I saw this thread!! Seemed way too cheap for a 2012 top range bat...

But how do you know they're fake?

The guy has to make some sort of profit, and this bat sells for more in Pakistan. Also, to try and prove the authenticity of the product he was selling, he would have used pictures taken by himself, but instead chose to use those from cricketstoreonline.

Ca 15000

Hi

I have been offered the following two bats. One is a CA 10000 which I believe is genuine. The other is a CA 15000 which is possibly a fake. Can anyone make comment on these pictures? Of course both sellers claim they are genuine!

I would rather get the 15000 but not if it is fake. The 10000 looks like a much better piece of willow also.

Cheers

Yep. I reckon that 10000 is all good. Its the 15000 I am concerned about!

Mate... why do you wanna buy on Trademe ..... ??? Its way too expensive... try local dealers in Pakistan... like Cricmall, Sialkot Shop... they are pretty good... anyways wat is the price on trademe.... ???

Price works out about the same.

Something that I havent seen discussed is the seller putting a low price for the bat on Ebay and then high shipping cost. Is this so that if you return the bat you only get the original low purchase price refunded?

Is it possible for anybody to Relicate The CA VIP Log Plus the Made in Pakistan Hologram And Most OF all The CA Burnt Stamp ? Just a Question as far as i know the Branding Machine that stamps the CA bats is worth in more than 2 Millions . Why would Somebody Go for such investment to Replicate just a Single Bat ?
And as i see it all the Ca authentication signs are given on their Website . So please come up with a good Explanation for a fake bat because i am about to buy one and i am confused about this ...

Welcome to the forum arcricket. The questions you have asked have already been answered in a few threads here. Well, in a nutshell, if you buy a lower grade CA bat with the CA stamp on the side and then apply the fake stickers which are readily available in the market, you can easily dupe prospective buyers. I would advise you to buy from a reputable shop and not from ebay. Good luck!! :)

Fake?

I'm new here but I wish I'd found this forum earlier. I bought a bat stickered up as a CA 10000. It is decent but no-one likes being conned.

anyway my CA is beginning to crack at the base so it's a good excuse to look for a new one. I've held a CA 15000 and like the feel of it. I've found one on the net (risky I know and with fear of this being a repost), is this seller ok?

KashifJ might be able to check on them better as they supposedly based in Dubai.

Right off the bat-- the seller looks super dodgy; you simply cannot sell bats for under the factory prices. TRD for 200 dollars is quite suspicious :O

Thanks for your reply. It does look dodgy. It looks as if they don't have a shop but only a 'warehouse'.

Could it have something to do with taxes? You get a big bill from customs if you want the bat?

Guys I just purchased a CA 15k , pictures on a separate thread, and the bat has all the things that are requires for authenticity as per CA website but I want to know where I can find the 10 digit serial no? I can't see it on my bat.....

Best way to deal with online fake bats.

I agree guys that buying a fake bat is a real disappointment. Got fooled myself a couple of years back. Best thing to do is to buy a nice grained plain bat at 1/4 price and apply the stickers of your choice. These can be ordered at very cheap rates. This way I saved at least Rs 8500 and got the Spartan CG authority bat of my choice. :afridi
