What will be Fakhar Zaman's highest score?
Average?
Runs?
What is the realistic estimate?

We need Shan to open with him and our top 3 is gun!
I'm assuming Shan will continue the list a numbers of last 18 months ( optimistic given how he played in tests)

South Africa know where to bowl to him and how to get him out. He needs to show improvements from the test series. He is vital to our LO success as we don't have many players of his profile. So we are dependent on him getting us off to fast starts . Otherwise we have no chance of getting competitive scores.

I am hoping he has a good series.

If he performs around the 300 runs.
He will have a century.

If he is reluctant to improve his technical deficiencies, which we saw during the Test series, then I expect not much from him tbh.

I think his confidence is probably at it's lowest after his stellar start. He found a way around the leg stump line in the NZ series. It will be interesting to see how he adjusts to bounce.

Agreed. He looks shot! Watching him bat in that last test actually made me feel sorry for.

Not sure what to make out of his batting... very unpredictable. However he is our best shot of getting a flying start...

1 hundred, few failures & 1 quickfire inning(60-70 runs) perhaps.

220 runs total.

are south african conditions similar to zimbabwe? if so then he'll love it

Hopefully his confidence is not too shattered.

I remember Nasir Jamshed - after he failed in a few tests in SA, he was not the same again.

Being asked to bowl today which was a bit of a surprise.

Big chance for Fakhar to get back in form and get himself sorted for the World Cup too.

A hack who refuses to learn from his mistakes. He needs a lot of luck and poor bowling to score runs.

Agreed. He needs to take some self responsibility and show some grit and stop making the same mistakes.

Then again if you watch the interviews with Mickey and Sarfraz they want him to play as a hack. The idea that he goes out and get them of to flying starts instead of working with him and helping him develop into a good batsmen.

I feel Fakhar and the management are to blame for his lack of development.

What I find worrying is that he never has an answer to the opposition putting him under pressure. Whenever they work him out, he surrenders meekly.

If you bowl in his zone, he will smash you, but if you drag him out of his comfort-zone, he is a lamb waiting to get slaughtered.

I fear he is going the Jamshed way. Once he was found out, he had no answer and simply faded away.

This guy HAS to go. DROP him please. It's clear that CT innings was the biggest fluke in cricketing history. What a joke of a batsman he's become these days! Decent opposition and he will be out. Asia Cup and now South Africa series. Imam is 10 times the batsman Fakhar will ever be.

The bowlers bowled to him with a plan and he didn’t get lucky. I am so surprised that he failed.

A gutless player. All his big scores have been scored against poor bowling attacks or on his lucky day. He lacks the skills needed to score off balls when they are outside his areas of strength.

In short, he is a nothing batsman.

What a pathetic and useless innings today.

When this guy cannot hit boundaries he doesn't have the skill or temperament to knock it around for singles or twos.

Usual rubbish today, hitting the ball hard at the fielders, same silly shots and no Plan B.

I think his time in international cricket is over. Played a few good innings , his century in the CT final will remain the highlight of his career.

He is still the player with the X Factor for Pakistan...Your version of Sehwag (he too never enjoyed running in between the wickets)

Why is his career over?He is still averaging over 50 with a strike rate of 90's...He is the real deal

All part of the original sin of a line up of malik, hafeez, and sarfaraz. Conceptually you can replace him with shan, but then who will get a move up front.

Needs a good PSL to get his confidence back.

BUT the issue against the short ball has always been there. It's something with his technique that he isn't able to cope with the short ball at rapid pace. In Asia these balls dip but abroad they will hit your chin.

This lad will carry us in the WC.

Mark my words.

Just needs his confidence back.

A guy that was lauded to the stratosphere is now being pummeled into the ground.

He shouldn’t be dropped yet. Specialist captain should be dropped if anyone is getting dropped. His comments today have embarrassed a nation.

Unleash him against spinners. There's a spot being wasted (Talat/Imad). Shan, Imam, Babar, Fakhar, Hafeez, Malik, Sarf that's the lineup. Shadab is the AR at 8, Amir, Hasan and Shaheen is the rest of the lineup.

Malik, Shan and Hafeez will share the 5th bowler role. Malik can't justify his place with just batting.

He is finished. A fluke hack whose luck has run out.

Should be played in T20Is only, a format where he still has some utility.

He has been found out in Tests and ODIs.

Time to drop him down the order. Even in his big innings he often got lucky early on, and then later made it count. His technical deficiencies won't be exposed so much down the order. I don't think you can drop him completely, his record is too good, and we need a big hitting player, there's no one else like him in the team (or perhaps even outside of the team).4 or lower really is where he needs to be tried before he's done away with completely. And shouldn't play tests at all.

Get someone like Masood in as opener, or Babar opens.

He was being lauded by people with poor cricketing insight.

Anyone who saw him bat in CT knew about his shoddy technique and even his century in the final was scratchy and was founded on luck.

Flawed batsmen in cricket are like mystery spinners, sooner than later people will find your weakness and know exactly where to bowl at you.

Fakhar is a confidence player. Team management have to be practical about this fact. He is technically not the strongest going around but once set, he can tear apart any kind of attack.

He should be preserved for world cup in England, the country which should bring back good memories when he thumped India out of the tournament. Maybe he should be asked to go and prepare for the world cup by playing county/league cricket in England. He is capable of winning the cup on his own. He is a finals player.

Even players like Dravid struggled on South African pitches. England is a different ball game. Hopefully Mickey is thinking about the bigger picture here!

I'll be surprised if he crosses 150 runs.

If Amla didn't grass an absolute sitter, Zaman would have ended the 5 match series with an aggregate of 117 runs, at an average of about 23.

As it is, he's looking good to put up a decent score here - Pakistan won't get a par score if he doesn't.

Fakhar is silencing all his naysayers and critics by scoring in the most important match of this series, not that he had to prove it to anyone anyway.

But you said in "Babar pressure situation" thread that JAMODIS don't matter. Now you are telling this is an important match.

Read carefully. This is still a JAMODI series but today's match is clearly the most important of the 5 JAMODIs. So I was clear all along.
