Fall out of the protests at the Prophet's mosque in Madinah

why bring UK into this thread?

This doesn't make sense and you know it.

It's not PTI vs PDM

It is

People vs PDM

You don't have to be a fan of IK or PTI to hate Looters and Murderers.

You will soon learn that blaming PTI supporters is futile.
Perhaps the penny has already dropped because the replies by PDM posters reek of desperation, why is that? (Rhetorical)

The nooras have the full support of KSA behind them and the authorities will come down hard on these poor people expressing their disgust at the corrupt people in charge back home.

Sad state of affairs!

Let's see the west condemn the Saudi Government....
If it was Kim or Putin locking up protestors, this would make international news with the usual governments coming out to object.

Why would they? They are bed fellows.
Anti democracy actions are only condemned by the west when conducted by their opponents or non-allies. That’s when protests can become acts of “terrorism”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Friday met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah and discussed ways to strengthen the bilateral, economic, investment and trade ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

The premier is in Saudi Arabia on a three-day visit — his first since he assumed office —, along with a delegation including Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Miftah Ismail, Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Khawaja Asif, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Mohsin Dawar and Maulana Tahir Ashrafi.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office, upon arrival at the Royal Palace, Shehbaz and his delegation were presented a guard of honour.

During the meeting, the heads of the two states held wide-ranging discussions on issues of mutual interest, along with global and regional issues. The prime minister also emphasised on the creation of job opportunities for Pakistanis.

A report in the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said the "Pakistani Prime Minister expressed his happiness to visit the Kingdom and to meet with HRH the Crown Prince".

According to SPA, the two leaders reviewed the fraternal and historical relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. They also discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation and promising opportunities as well as the ways of developing them in various fields. The two sides also reviewed all regional and international issues and discussed a number of issues of common interest.

The prime minister landed in Saudi Arabia's Madina on Thursday where he visited Masjid-i-Nabwi and offered his prayers. After spending two days in Madina and Jeddah, he arrived in Makkah today.

During his visit to the holy mosque, the doors of the sacred Kaaba were opened exclusively for PM Shehbaz Sharif and the federal ministers.

Later on Saturday, the premier performed Umrah with his delegation and prayed for the security of the country, nation and Muslim Ummah and for the development and prosperity of Pakistan, a statement by the PM Office said.

UAE never ever allows public demos
There are just 2 exceptions in recent years

1) When Morsi was toppled
2) When PTI supporters came on the streets in Dubai

2nd one saw actual hundreds of people marching, first one was mostly cheering from cars and horning

Tahis Ashrafi has to be the biggest lota! A few months back, he accompanied Khan to KSA and today is accompanying Shahbaz to KSA. No morals at all!

ISLAMABAD: Former federal minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed's nephew Sheikh Rashid Shafiq was arrested at the Islamabad airport upon his arrival from Saudi Arabia in the wee hours of Sunday.

The arrest has been made in connection with the incident of slogan chanting at Masjid-e-Nabawi against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his delegation.

Sources affiliated with the airport staff said that Shafiq travelled to Pakistan through a private airline.

Rashid confirmed his nephew's arrest, saying that he had just landed in Pakistan after performing Umrah when he was arrested.

"None of us were in Saudi Arabia, but cases were still registered [against us]. Residences are being raided after the registration of the cases," Rashid said, condemning the arrest.

He further stated that people would "harass them wherever they went".

Sources privy to the matter said that Shafiq has been shifted to a Federal Investigation Agency cell.

A case had been registered against Shafiq at Faisalabad's Madina Town on behalf of Muhammad Naeem . A total of 14 known and 100-150 unidentified people, including PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Fawad Chaudhry, Shehbaz Gill, Sahibzada Jahangir and other PTI members have been nominated in the case.

On the night following the Masjid-e-Nabawi incident, Shafiq had posted a video from the holy site, supporting the hooliganism.

He had also hinted that the same would happen to the delegation when they visit the Holy Kaaba in Makkah.

PM Shehbaz and his delegation had reached Saudi Arabia on Thursday for a three-day official visit at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Finance Minister Miftah Ismail, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Shahzain Bugti, Mohsin Dawar, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqi, Chaudhry Salik, and four members of PM Shehbaz Sharif's staff were accompanying the prime minister on his visit.

But as Marriyum Aurangzeb and Shahzain Bugti arrived at the mosque, the protesters started chanting slogans of "chor, chor (thieves)" when they saw theme premier and harassed and raised objectionable slogans.

The protesters had also misbehaved with the JWP chief Shahzain Bugti and pulled his hair.

The protesters filmed the entire episode with their mobile phones.

This entire machinery and mechanism is rotten and corrupt to the core.

IK was ONE man who tried to stand against this astronomical amount of human excrement that has piled up in the last many decades.
Obviously he couldn’t get a team of angles from this pile, so the crooks in his team backstab him.

It’s just like trying to earn a halal rizq and survive on it in Pakistan. IMPOSSIBLE!!
You can’t! You won’t be let to do so even if you tried your absolute best!

One IK against the entire machinery; be it the top brass of army, judiciary, election commission, law, institutions, Mir jaafars and Mir Saadiqs in his own team, foreign interference, and the absolute rotten to the core, bureaucracy of Pakistan.

Many of our dumb sheep will still vote in millions to PML and PPP and MQM and Fazlur and Bugties n whatnot.

I don’t think Pakistan should exist as an independent sovereign nation.
We have proved it with 100% surety that we are unable to run our country on our own.

We are unable to put a value and worth on freedom and see how to take benefit from it, and rise high as a country and as a nation.

I will stick to my thoughts.
China should take over Pakistan and merge it with the mainland China.

Those who cry about being treated like Uighurs should be rest assured that their emaan has no value and no worth and no danger to it, after the country stands at number 140 on the scale of corruption.
IMO, It’s better to not to be proud of such emaan or brag about such emaan or worry about losing such emaan.
So you ain’t got much to lose if you get treated like Uighurs.

At least you will have better governance under the Chinese, better law n order, a better justice system than what we have now. And only in a few years, there will be hardly anyone left under the poverty line.
You will have jobs and your taxes will work for you.
And for millions of those lazies, who dont wanna work, will have a nice big n fat shaft ready for them.

As for IK, I think he should move back to England and spend rest of years closer to his kids. They have a right on his time too.
IK has already given enough time to Pakistanis.

If this army of crooks like the Shareef family, PPP family and and Rana Sanaullah and Saad Rafiq and Durrani, and many others in the cabinet and parliament get elected over n over n over again, then rest assured, our masses are not ready for independence and freedom.

It’s easy to awake a person who is sleeping - but it’s very hard to awake a person who is already awake.

FAISALABAD: Former prime minister Imran Khan is among around 150 people who were booked Sunday in a case relating to hooliganism at Masjid-e-Nabawi earlier this week.

The case has been registered against the suspects at the Madina Town Police Station in Faisalabad on the complaint of a citizen named Muhammad Naeem.

Those nominated in the case include former information minister Fawad Chaudhry, ex-special assistant to the prime minister for political communication Dr Shahbaz Gill, National Assembly former deputy speaker Qasim Khan Suri, MNA Sheikh Rashid Shafique, Aneel Mussarat, a British-Pakistani businessman, and others.

Ex-PM Imran Khan among 150 booked after Masjid-e-Nabawi incident
Two separate groups, a 150-member group from Pakistan and another group from London, had been sent to Saudi Arabia, who harassed Pakistani pilgrims and stopped them from performing their religious rituals at Masjid-e-Nabawi, read the FIR.

Referring to the statements of Sheikh Rashid and Rashid Shafique, the complainant said that the incident took place under a premeditated conspiracy.

Asad Umar condemns FIR against Imran Khan
Condemning the FIR against the former prime minister, PTI leader Asad Umar said that no one in recent history has fought the case against Islamophobia with more passion, logic and deep conviction than Imran Khan.

Taking to Twitter, Umar wrote: “To file a ridiculous FIR against him trying to show that he had anything to do with disrespect of masjid e nabavi, is condemnable and reprehensible.”

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia has agreed to provide Islamabad a "sizeable package" of around $8 billion to help revive the country’s ailing economy amid the maiden trip of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The package includes doubling of the oil financing facility, additional money either through deposits or Sukuks and rolling over of the existing $4.2 billion facilities, according to a report published in The News.

"However, technical details are being worked out and will take a couple of weeks to get all documents ready and signed," top official sources privy to the development informed The News on Saturday. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his official entourage have left Saudi Arabia but Minister for Finance Miftah Ismail is still staying there to finalise the modalities of the increased financial package.

Sharing the salient features of the financial package, the official said that Pakistan had proposed doubling of the oil facility from $1.2 billion to $2.4 billion and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia agreed to it. It was also agreed that the existing deposits of $3 billion would be rolled over for an extended period up to June 2023.

"Pakistan and KSA discussed an additional package of over $2 billion either through deposits or Sukuk and it is likely that even more money will be provided to Islamabad," said official sources, adding that the size of the total package would be determined when additional money was finalised.

Saudi Arabia had provided $3 billion deposits to the State Bank of Pakistan in December 2021 while the Saudi oil facility was operationalised from March 2022 whereby Pakistan was provided $100 million to procure oil. Saudi Arabia had provided a $7.5 billion package during the last tenure of the PMLN government (2013-18). Under the PTI-led regime, Saudi Arabia had provided a package of $4.2 billion, including $3 billion deposits and $1.2 billion oil facility for one year and linked it with the IMF programme.

Now Saudi Arabia has provided an enhanced financial package to Pakistan when its economy is in dire straits and the country is facing a balance of payment crisis. The country’s foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan depleted by $6 billion in the last six to seven weeks and nosedived to $10.5 billion at the moment. With the rising current account deficit at $13.2 billion in the first nine months and pressing external loan repayment requirements, Pakistan requires financial injections of $9 to $12 billion till June 2022 to avert further depletion of foreign currency reserves. Pakistan will have to repay external debt servicing of $3 billion in the last quarter (April-June) of the current fiscal year.

The revival of the IMF programme is considered as imperative because the gross external financing requirement is estimated to the tune of $35 billion during the next fiscal year 2022-23 and without the backing of the programme, the huge financing gap cannot be bridged. However, independent economists, like Dr Ashfaque Hasan Khan, suggest a ban on the import of luxury cars and other unessential items for saving dollars.

Later in a tweet, Miftah Ismail said, "Just said goodbye to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other colleagues at Jeddah Airport, who are on their way to Islamabad after a brief stopover in Abu Dhabi to meet Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Zayed. I remain in SA to meet Saudi officials and start technical-level talks."

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Sunday vowed that former prime minister Imran Khan will be arrested in a case relating to hooliganism and sloganeering against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his delegation visiting Masjid-e-Nabawi earlier this week.

In a statement, Sanaullah dubbed Imran Khan as “fitna” and said, “They will not be forgiven at all for what they did.” “Imran Khan will be arrested definitely,” he added.

Referring to the FIR registered against almost 150 people, including Imran Khan, the minister said that there is no justification for not filing a case against those who violated the sanctity of Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH).

The government will not create any obstacle if any citizens comes forward and seeks action in this regard, he added. The incident relating to the harassment of PML-N leaders at the holy mosque was preplanned, he said, adding that people were provoked to do this.

As per the planning, a group of people headed by Aneel Mussarat and Sahibzada Jahangir arrived in Saudi Arabia from the UK for hooliganism at the Masjid-e-Nabawi, he said.

“This man [Imran Khan] is bent on misleading the new generation,” he said and asked if anyone ever called for a protest on Chand Raat?

Talking about the plot behind the incident, the minister asked: “Is there any need for proof after Sheikh Rasheed's press conference?”

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has challenged the cases against the party leadership relating to hooliganism at Masjid-e-Nabawi (PBUH) in the Islamabad High Court.

The plea was filed by PTI's legal team comprising Advocate Faisal Fareed and Advocate Ali Bukhari on Fawad's behalf on Monday.

The IHC has issued a circular to hear urgent cases even during holidays, under which petitions of urgent nature can be filed during Eid holidays.

Despite the leave, IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah has fixed the PTI's petition for an urgent hearing on which the hearing will be held by him, while Fawad Chaudhry is already present in court.

The petition filed by Chaudhry argues that the illegal harassment of PTI leaders should be stopped.

In the petition, PTI has sought orders to bring all the cases registered in line with the incident on record. It also requested the court to inquire about the reasons and basis for which the cases have been registered and nullify any action by police or the Federal Investigation Agency.

IHC accepts Gill's plea for protective bail

Meanwhile, the IHC barred the police from arresting Gill upon his arrival in Pakistan.

Advocate Faisal Chaudhry had filed a petition seeking protective bail for Gill to avoid arrest when he returns to the country.

During the hearing, Justice Minallah asked where Gill is currently.

At this, Advocate Chaudhry informed the court that Gill went to United States on April 28 and he will come back on May 4.

"I have attached Gill's return ticket with the petition [...] he wants to appear before the court and be part of the investigation," he said.

He argued that 11 different cases have been registered against Gill and other PTI leaders in Faisalabad, Jhelum and other cities to target them for revenge.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan and PTI leaders Fawad Chaudhry and Shehbaz were among 150 people against whom a case was registered a day earlier after slogans were chanted against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his delegation during their visit to Masjid-e-Nabawi last week.

After the incident, former interior minister Sheikh Rashid's nephew Rashid Shafique, who was also booked in the same case, was arrested.

ISLAMABAD: A district and sessions court in Attock on Monday granted the police a two-day physical remand of MNA Sheikh Rashid Shafiq, nephew of former federal minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, in a case relating to hooliganism and chanting slogans against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his delegation at Masjid-e-Nabwi in Saudi Arabia.

A day earlier, Sheikh Rashid Shafiq was arrested at the Islamabad International Airport upon his arrival from Saudi Arabia.

At the outset of today’s hearing, the police produced Sheikh Rashid Shafiq before the court amid tight security. The police pleaded with the court to remand the suspect to their custody so that they could interrogate him.

Giving his nod to the request, Judicial Magistrate Jamal Mehmood granted the police a two-day remand of Rashid Shafiq and directed to present the suspect before the court on the second day of Eid.

Meanwhile, the judge adjourned the hearing till May 4.

Sheikh Rasheed's nephew arrested

In the wake of the incident of slogan chanting at Masjid-e-Nabawi against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his delegation, former federal minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed's nephew MNA Sheikh Rashid Shafiq had been taken into custody at the Islamabad airport upon his arrival from Saudi Arabia early Sunday morning.

Some protesters, allegedly belonging to the PTI, violated the sanctity of the Masjid-e-Nabawi (PBUH) in Madinah on Thursday by loudly catcalling Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and members of his delegation.

Sources affiliated with the airport staff said that Shafiq flew to Pakistan through a private airline.

Confirming the arrest, Rasheed had said that his nephew had just touched down in Islamabad after performing Umrah, at the time of his arrest.

"None of us was in Saudi Arabia, but cases were still registered [against us]. Residences are being raided after the registration of the cases," Rasheed had said, condemning the arrest.

He had further stated that people would "harass them wherever they went". Sources privy to the matter said that Shafiq had been shifted to a Federal Investigation Agency cell.

A case had been registered against Shafiq at Faisalabad's Madina Town on behalf of Muhammad Naeem. A total of 14 known and 100-150 unidentified people, including PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Fawad Chaudhry, Shehbaz Gill, Sahibzada Jahangir and other PTI members had been nominated in the case.

ISLAMABAD/LAHORE: The top leadership and saner elements in the PML-N and PPP — the two largest partners in the ruling coalition — are unhappy over the handling of the situation after the Madina mosque incident and registration of cases against PTI leaders in different parts of the country.

Background interviews with a number of senior leaders of the two parties reveal there is a general feeling within the ruling coalition that the government may have “overreacted” to the issue, and the registration of cases and action against some PTI leaders is now proving counterproductive for the government.

They are of the view that swift action by the Saudi authorities against the Pakistani pilgrims, who appeared to be PTI supporters, over slogans of “chor, chor (thieves)” and “lotay (turncoats)”, and physically attacking some members of the official delegation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the widespread condemnation of the incident had put the PTI on the defensive, but the government’s actions have not only provided an opportunity to the former ruling party to control the damage, but also to portray itself as a victim.

Some protesters were seen chasing and trying to physically assault federal ministers Shahzain Bugti and Marriyum Aurangzeb who were saved and escorted by the guards and police officials.

“People’s sympathies were with us initially after the Masjid-i-Nabwi incident. But now the sentiments have started shifting to the other side,” acknowledged a key member of PM Sharif’s cabinet and a PML-N office-bearer while talking to Dawn on condition of anonymity on Monday.

Recalling that the parties now in the government had in the past criticised Imran Khan for using religion for political gains, the minister said the registration of cases and some statements by politicians linking the incident with blasphemy had damaged their narrative to a great extent.

“Secondly, these actions and reactions have provided an opportunity to the culprits to present themselves as victims which is evident from the statements now coming from the civil society and other saner quarters who are opposing the registration of blasphemy cases,” said the minister.

Responding to a question, he said PM Sharif had not issued any directives in this regard and the matter was being solely handled by Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah.

Meanwhile, federal minister Javed Latif of the PML-N went public with his opposition to the government’s policy of registering first information reports (FIRs) against the PTI leadership over the Masjid-i-Nabwi incident, saying it will further fan the “Imrani fitna” (mischief).

Mr Latif, who has yet to be assigned a portfolio, also expressed his inability to speak on the matter in the cabinet as it was not his party’s government alone. “I could have spoken on the matter directly (with the prime minister) had this government not been a coalition. Through this presser I want to request Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif not to register FIRs on the complaints of different people on the sensitive matter of the Masjid-i-Nabwi incident. Rather the state should come forward and become a complainant to deal with the Imrani fitna,” he said at a press conference in Lahore on Monday.

The minister reportedly does not enjoy cordial relations with PM Shehbaz since commenting on the latter’s purported links with the establishment.

A PML-N insider told Dawn that Latif was not alone in this ‘request’ to PM Shehbaz against taking an aggressive stance on the matter that could give further political mileage to Mr Khan.

“Some senior PML-N leaders are of the view that Imran Khan and his close aides should be exposed for their corruption and not dragged into religious matters. This will not reflect well on us at the end of the day,” he said, adding the PPP was also openly opposing Shehbaz’s policy of using the incident to implicate the PTI leadership in cases.

The insider further said PM Shehbaz, who is otherwise known for his reconciliatory politics, should not follow the advice of party hawks like Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah of using religion to hunt down political opponents.

Even Defence Minister Khwaja Asif has advised the government to avoid a clash. “I am not in favour of extracting revenge (from political opponents). Being in the government, we should avoid a clash,” he told a news channel on Monday.

Moreover, PPP secretary general and former senator Farhatullah Babar through his Twitter handle called the supposed institution of blasphemy cases against rival PTI leaders “most disturbing, insane and condemnable”.

Mr Babar said he had always opposed “weaponisation of religion-based laws” in the past, opposes it now and will oppose it in future also.

Talking to Dawn, Mr Babar urged the government to provide counsellor’s access to the Pakistani pilgrims detained by the Saudi authorities. Interestingly, the veteran politician has made this demand despite the fact that his party chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari is the foreign minister.

The Faisalabad, Attock and Islamabad police have registered separate cases against PTI chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan and over 150 others, including party stalwarts Fawad Chaudhry, Shahbaz Gill, Qasim Suri, Sahibzada Jahangir and Aneel Musarrat, for defiling a sacred place on the complaints of various citizens in the wake of the hooliganism at Masjid-i-Nabwi during the visit of an official delegation last week. The Saudi government has arrested some of the Pakistanis for hooliganism in violation of the regulations.

Following registration of the FIRs, police arrested former interior minister Sheikh Rashid’s nephew, Rashid Shafique, upon his arrival from Saudi Arabia on Sunday. A district court in Attock on Monday sent him on a two-day physical remand in police custody over the mosque incident. As his uncle Rashid, Shafiq is also accused of inciting and planning the incident in Madina.

PTI leaders, on the other hand, have called the incident a spontaneous reaction against the ouster of Imran Khan from power. The party, through its vice president and former information minister Fawad Chaudhry, has already filed a writ petition in the Islamabad High Court, calling for cases against its leadership to be declared “illegal”. In the petition, Mr Chaudhry has also blamed Mr Sanaullah for targeting the PTI leadership.

Despite repeated attempts, the interior minister could not be reached for comments.

RAWALPINDI: A judicial magistrate on Wednesday sent Sheikh Rashid Shafique, nephew of Shiekh Rasheed Ahmed, on judicial remand, rejecting a plea from police to extend his physical remand, ARY NEWS reported.

He was presented in the court amid strict security measures, however, the PTI activists were able to reach outside the court premises and protest against his arrest.

The court sent Sheikh Rashid Shafique on 14-day-judicial remand to Attock prison. The judicial magistrate expressed annoyance over police for not presenting record regarding the case and rejected a plea to extend Shafique’s physical remand.

During the last hearing, he was remanded in police custody for another two days after being arrested for his alleged involvement in Madinah incident.

Sheikh Rashid Shafique was presented before the duty judge where police sought his physical remand for seven days to probe his alleged involvement in the unfortunate incident.

The court, however, approved two-day physical remand and directed police to present him on second day of Eid before the court.

Sheikh Rashid Shafique was arrested on Sunday from Islamabad airport by a team of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

Shafique was arrested from Islamabad airport as soon as he returned after performing Umrah. He was nominated in a case filed against PTI leaders in Faisalabad.

Sheikh Rasheed while commenting on the matter said that he along with Imran Khan, Fawad Chaudhry and others are also booked in the case in which his nephew has been arrested by FIA.

“The government is resorting to vengeance and they will arrest multiple PTI leaders ahead of Imran Khan’s long march towards Islamabad at the end of May,” he said.

ARY

Federal Minister for Water Resources Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah has said that cases for Madina incident should not be registered in Pakistan and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah should rethink the issue seriously.

Cases should not have been lodged against members of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and action should only be taken against the people who took law into their hands in Pakistan, he said, adding if somebody had shown disrespect to the sacred place, only Allah and His Prophet (PBUH) would punish him for that.

Talking to people at different places during Eid days, Shah said: “We do not believe in political victimisation. We believe in democratic norms and will never object to Imran Khan’s democratic right to protest. Whoever wishes to bring millions of people in long march should not be barred and protesters should not be arrested for taking part in a peaceful protest.”

“The government should be careful while issuing statements about PTI’s long march. It should take decisions with consensus as we are their partners in the coalition government,” he said.

He said the present coalition might get stronger by contesting local bodies as well as general election together. Politicians must speak truth before people, if they kept telling lies, it would be dangerous for them, he said.

He said that Imran Khan was now holding big gatherings but he did nothing for the county and rather plunged Pakistan into economic crisis.

He said that when the establishment supported PTI, it was good, and when it declared itself as apolitical it suddenly became bad.

About the National Accountability Bureau, Shah said that the bureau should exist but its law should be amended. “We should make necessary constitutional amendments and electoral reforms immediately so that we should move to general election,” he said.

Thats the reason since some days PDM is silent about Madinah matter.

Media reports says Hamza Shahbaz, Maryam Aurangzeb and Rana Sanaullah has already started talking with Saudi officials for the release of those people.

If this is true, shame on whoever organized this

This would be shocking if its true- i am still dubious that its true. But this would be on another level because this would be organised at a high level. As i said at the time, its something i wouldnt have done in the Holy Places, but people are angry and acting emotionally and if their own people started it to get the crowd going what does that say about these haraaamis

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has stopped authorities from registering FIRs against PTI leaders in a case related to the Masjid-e-Nabawi incident.

Hearing the plea of PTI leaders against the registration of cases against them after the Masjid-e-Nabawi incident, IHC CJ, Justice Athar Minallah said what happened in Medina, should have not happened and asked how can use of religion can be refrained in politics.

The use of religion card in political matters is a crime and it is the responsibility of the government to look into the matter closely.

Justice Minallah remarked that Pakistan has beard a lot of losses in Pakistan’s over use of religion cards in the political area. Has the state fulfiled its responsibility in the matter? the IHC CJ asked the AGP Ashtar Ausaf.

The AGP sought time from the court and added that the government has summoned a report into the issue.

The lawyer of Qasim Suri, the former deputy speaker of NA said his client was attacked in Ramzan, while Fawad Chaudhry said people have been killed in the past over religion card into the politics.

Later, the IHC stopped police from registering FIRs against the PTI leaders and adjourned the hearing.

The Faislabad and Attock police have registered a case against 150 people, including the PTI chairman, for allegedly harassing, hurling abuses, and sloganeering against the Pakistani delegation led by PM Shehbaz Sharif at the Masjid-e-Nabvi earlier this week.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Saturday directed the federal government to ensure that no case is lodged against the PTI leadership unless there is reliable information regarding their involvement in the Masjid-e-Nabawi (PBUH) incident.

In today's hearing, IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah said that the Saudi officials did not inform Pakistan's government about the involvement of the PTI leaders. The court said that it has also not been denied that Saudi authorities have launched an operation against those involved.

IHC CJ Minallah said that it is admitted that the PTI leadership was not present at the scene of the incident.

The chief justice has issued a written order for the hearing of the petition filed by the PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry against the cases registered against the party leaders in the Masjid-e-Nabawi (PBUH) case. The notice says that it is the state's responsibility to ensure that no one uses the religion card for political or personal gain.

The IHC CJ said that the inspector general (IG) Islamabad should ensure no false case is registered against the PTI leaders.

According to the petitioner, cases against PTI Chairman Imran Khan and his party members are being registered in Pakistan as a part of retaliation.

Faisalabad police had earlier this month booked 150 people, including former prime minister Imran Khan, for their alleged involvement in harassing and stopping a government delegation when they visited Masjid-e-Nabawi (PBUH) last month.

PTI Chairman Khan had lashed out at the government last week for nominating him in the FIR, but later Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah clarified that the state had nothing to do with it.

A Saudi court has sentenced a Pakistani to three years in prison for chanting slogans against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his entourage, in Madina, during their maiden visit to Saudi Arabia late April this year.

Muhammad Tahir has also been fined 10,000 riyals.

Tahir, among other pilgrims, was accused of misbehaving with the Pakistani delegation and chanting slogans at the Masjid during the premier’s visit. Later, he uploaded videos of the incident on social media.

The convict can file an appeal within 30 days against the court’s order.

According to videos on social media, the pilgrims raised slogans of “chor” (thieves) as soon as they saw PM Shehbaz.

In another video, the pilgrims were seen heckling and chanting abusive slogans against federal ministers Marriyum Aurangzeb and Shahzain Bugti, as the pair were escorted by Saudi guards. In another video, a pilgrim pulled Bugti's hair from behind.

Later, in a video message in response to the chants, Marriyum had said that the act was perpetrated by a "select group", while most Pakistanis respected the sanctity of the holy mosque.

Six jailed in Madina for sloganeering during PM’s

At least six Pakistani nationals were convicted of violating the sanctity of the Masjid-e-Nabawi (PBUH) in Madina during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Saudi Arabia, a private TV channel reported on Thursday.

Quoting its diplomatic sources, the channel said that a court in Madina awarded 10-year jail term each to Anas, Irshad, Muhammad Saleem, while 8-year jail term each to Khawaja Luqman, Muhammad Afzal, and Ghulam Muhammad. The convicts were also fined Saudi Riyal 20,000 each.

In April this year, a group of protesters, allegedly belonging to the PTI, violated the sanctity of the Masjid-e-Nabawi after they loudly chanted slogans against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and members of his delegation, as they entered the mosque to pay their respects at the Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH).

Upon the arrival of PM Shehbaz and his delegation to the mosque, the protesters started chanting slogans of "chor, chor (thieves)" when they saw the premiere and harassed and raised objectionable slogans against Marriyum Aurangzeb.

The protesters also raised slogans against Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and misbehaved with the Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) chief and federal Minister for Narcotics Control Shahzain Bugti. The protesters filmed the entire episode with their mobile phones.

Following the incident, political and religious leaders and people belonging to different sections of the society expressed their outrage at the incident and strictly condemned the chanting of political slogans at Masjid-e-Nabawi (PBUH).

Sentencing someone in jail for 10 yrs for shouting chor.

these people crossed the line and shouldn't have done this stunt in a holy place, but people emotions were running high.

The fine should suffice and the culprits deported from the kingdom is enough punishment.
but to do porridge because of some voices being raised is human rights abuse

Hopefully the jailed ones would be let off in a few days with a Stern warning and this should serve as an example for others who would have followed in their footsteps. Whatever maybe the political problems of your Country back home don't bring them on the Saudi Land. You have come to the Holy Land for worship , don't create ruckus and involve in political cheerleading .
