Fault in Imam-ul-Haq's technique

Don't want to be a spoilsport and I know Imam is currently batting really well but I noticed one thing again today while he was batting which he has not corrected since the India game. While facing the delivery he gets his front leg too far across in order to drive the ball so when this happens if the delivery comes back in then he is a prime candidate for lbw he is basically walking into his drive.
In the last game we saw how India exploited this when Bhuvi bowled. First 4 deliveries inswingers and then when Shankar came on it was an inswinger first up and Imam's pads where in the way. Today again when he edged Rabada between the slips you could see he walked into his drive.
You can get away with this technique where there is no swing but any swing bowler worth his salt will make Imam pay for this technique

I am not sure if it’s a flaw but more of a feature of batting. The bowlers job is drag the batsman out further and further and then bowl the sucker punch delivery that goes the other way. Pretty much how you set up a batsman by bowling short and then bowling full. It’s a mistake that a batsman makes due to good bowling.

I noticed it is a common feature in Imam's batting he is always looking to get his front leg across to drive, ideally he should be getting his front leg down the line than across and then swing his bat through the line of the ball. But if it works for him who am I to say but looks faulty

You might not be entirely wrong. His leg side game is a bit suspect

Yes because of that across movement he closes himself up to the pull shot as he can't pull with a steady base as all his weight is on the front foot. You will notice that for all his technical deficiencies in feet movement Fakhar does not have this problem because he always maintains a steady base while pulling the ball.

If he fixes this flaw he can become a much more fluent player. Maybe he could try standing a bit more opened up instead of side on.

My biggest gripe with Pakistani batsmen has always been that they do not work on their weaknesses and that is why we are such a poor cricketing nation as far as batting goes.

Again we have seen this today. His forward and across press making it difficult for him to pull the ball.

Boult is not express whereas Ferguson is. Also the angles are different when both are bowling
