I gave up on western music a while back, I couldn't find too many original/things I liked anymore and tried to turn to Asian music, but I just couldn't listen to it, so I turned to more Farsi style of music and bingo, great melodies, vocals and music!

I mostly listen to European classical music and jazz these days.

EDM mainly trance, house, that sort of thing. Listen to some good Bollywood songs too from time to time.

Favorite is Qawalli/ghazal/desi classical stuff

Occasionally listen to bollywood music.

I also really like rap, techno/trance/dubstep, pop, grunge, basically anything.

The only types of music I dislike are country, and heavy metal.

Classical music(Liszt,Chopin,Paganini)
Jazz - Coltrane and a few others but mainly I prefer jazz fusion ( Although the vast majority of jazz music is rubbish IMO and its a good thing jazz is dead)

Rock - favourite genre and listen to pretty much anything that comes under this umbrella term including prog/metal/ classic blues rock etc.

Can't stand Bollywood music or most of EDM. Appreciate some rap but I think of it more as modern poetry than as music per se.

Have recently been hooked on the fusion genre like Coke Studio, Maatibani etc.

Rock music. It is fun to see aimless youth bang their head while making sign of the horn to some weirdos who are playing an electric guitar and screaming on the mike, thinking they are part of some rebellious brotherhood out to change the world. Idiots.

I just got back from a three-day jazz festival attended by 5000 people. It's not dead and is undergoing a revival by youngsters seeking authentic music.

Any specific artists you think are good?

Currently active:

Gregoru Porter is going from strength to strength but he's more of a retro soul man
Bruce Hornsby (best known for rap artists sampling his '80s hits but mainly a jazz pianist these days)
Gogo Penguin (British trio)
Kamazi Washington (American saxophonist)
Esperanza Spalding (American bassist / vocalist)
Snarky Puppy
Marcus Miller
Robert Glasper

Pop, R&B, Soft Rock, Country and a bit of Rap although not too big on that.

Hate heavy metal.

I don't think there is a revival. You will always find a few youngsters into jazz. Even I like a few jazz artists buy among the Big genres it is easily in the worst state commercially and as an art form.

I agree.

Gotten into this offlate, very gypysish, not sure of the genre which I think depends upon age, I have seen my preferred genre change with age and different life experiences.

Hip hop all day everyday I have an obsession of sort 😁

Hate rock and trap music with passion

Turkish songs are very much focused on lyrics musically they're below par imo but they care about the "message" of the song

Of course I am using my judgement after looking at the translations provided

I'm almost certain this is Hebrew, they are based in Istanbul and this song is from their album called "Istanbul" as well but they are kinda Jewish gypsy kind.

Not sure about mainstream Turkish music , they sounded like western/bollywood pop( Tarkan Kiss kiss??) to me but Turkish instrumental music imho is amazing esp the flute.

Armenian music with duduk on the other hand is beautiful and deep, amazing for calming oneself mentally ,guess they have still not be destroyed by the riches of pop.
