Agreed. I posted the same thing in the Junoon thread here. I don't think it's patriotic though, it points out what's wrong with our society more than anything.

Junoon aur ishq se militi hai azadi - Junoon

Thanks to this thread I've been listening to patriotic songs on repeat for the last hour, specifically Maula..

Tabdeeli agai hai taro

Mithi ke banday

Bara dushman bana pirtha hai

Yeh him nahi

Agay se agay

Not explicitly patriotic but songs tied to the Pakistani nation

Sohni Dharti

Rahe Na Rahe - Jawad Ahmed

Dil Se main nay Dekha Pakistan -Haroon

Sab say pehlay Pakistan

Jazba Junoon

Dil Dil Pakistan is such an over-rated song, people just like it because it is easy to sing without melody.

That song is copied from Aligarh Muslim University's anthem. Btw, met someone recently in Aligarh who had seen Jinnah closely.

Jazba e Junoon
Dil Dil Pakistan
Hai Koi Hum Jaisa

All 3 of the above are great to get pumped up and enjoy at events such as cricket matches and concerts

Yeh Watan Tumhara Hai
Dil Na Lagay
Dosti (Jawad Ahmed)
Tu Hai Kahan
Pakistani Tujeh Salaam
Tum Hi Se Hai Mujahido
Mard-e-Mujahid
Humain Tum Se Pyaar Hai
Dil Se (Haroon)

That's just a few of the amazing patriotic songs that I use to listen to a lot of whilst growing up (specially when I lived in Pakistan) and even to this day, after having been away from home for all these years.

Both of those songs are absolute classics!

The Swades title song always gets me & hits close to home for me. I'm sure it does so for many Indians and Pakistanis who are living away from home.

Although i do not endorse the song content (pashtun nationalistic ramblings), i like listening to this song - mainly due to the melody and the instruments played in the background. Have some kind of a thing for Pashtun songs - specially songs where the rabab is played in the background.

Yeah both songs are in my top favourites list. I'm a bit of a Rahmaniac as well and love most of his songs anyway. Although I'm not exactly the uber patriotic type, the first song being mellowed through the stands of the Wankhede as Dhoni was about to finish the job for India vs Sri Lanka in the World cup final and the 42k people joining in chorus singing the song will be one of my all time favourite memories in cricket.

As for the second song, I loved the moment I heard it and absolutely enjoyed the movie as well. Although it is an Indian movie, it kinda relates to every desi who is away from his home and I've read comments from Pakistanis and Bangladeshis that this song reminds them so much of their home. You being an expat will probably relate more to the song than those living in India or Pakistan.

This is a better version of the song (MTV removed the video from Youtube).

My favorite will always be "Dil Na Lage" by Fakhir.

Some fantastic ones there by TalhaSyed!

Yes definitely, Dil na Lage and Dil Se really stand out.

Both literally bring tears.

Watan Kahani by Awaz, Pakistan's only Patriotic rap song. Like the 90s style rap.

Sandese Aate Hain song is not just for Indian army or any army for that matter. It's a song which anyone who lives without their family can resonate with.
