Oh bhaii, the match I'm recalling happened in 2016 where Azhar Ali was captaining and Sohaib Maqsood refused to stand as a close-in fielder and Azhar himself replaced him. It was either a T20 or ODI v NZ
 
Another huge game with mammoth 373 scored by Federal. Saad Nasim is a superb striker of the ball well played by him with a great strike rate. Hit 5 sixes incl. am impressive hit on a lower full toss by Sadaf. 400 seems an unsafe score in Pakistan Cup

Figure are exceptionally good though for a score card of 373/6 (50), 3 wickets and 1 maiden, with an economy significantly lower than other 40 overs. Guy, must have something - if not muscle, then definitely brain cell; gets better of batsmen. Today, apart from Abid Ali, rest all batsmen are actually PAK Internationals at some point of career - these wickets are not cheap.

KPK score is 240/8 in 40 overs, seems pretty much over even on this wicket.

When you have 4 legends [Hafeez, Khurram Manzoor, Umar Akmal, Shan Masood] together in one team chasing 373 was always a tough ask. Partnership between Hafeez and Manzoor was slow and tiresome. There strike rates were'nt impressive which Hafeez tried to improve later and gave his wicket away.

yet sadaf has outbowled rahat in every domestic tourney and game they have jointly played in, even when rahat was at his absolute peak. i guess rich people don't like wickets.

i went through some of his balls the one he got Abid ALi.Was a bit stuck on the pitch.most of the deliveries Looked to be less than 130kph sure.

Haven't seen him bat, but this tournament actually once again reiterates my understanding on Ahmed - guy is trapped in his own cage.

He had the worst grooming that a young batsman can have - one by one he saw his contemporaries they marginalized in Misbah's team, eventually dropped; so he found his way to keep his seat reserved. Then he opened for a good period in toxic company of the most selfish manipulator I have seen - learned bad things more than good ones unfortunately.

Result - he has become extremely selfish, which is not allowing himself to express. He plays every shot on the book, may be placing is an issue, but for PAK, I don't see even any attempt to improvise or going after for first 15 overs!!!! It eventually often ends like 12 (23) .....

Still he has time, unlike Umar he is extremely fit, quite smart - should take a look a mirror (not mobile screen) and soul search from scratch.

Great to see high scoring matches. Batsmen will learn how to compile innings so the score is 300+ and the pitches will ensure only the quality bowlers shine through.
 
So far, on this flat track, Sadaf and Junaid have impressed in the bowling department. Sadaf is a wicket taker, no matter what. He should have been on the plane to England/IReland.
 
Great game and fantastic spells by Junaid and Irfan. Sindh Team was probably helped by the Bilal Asif innings [44 off just 17 balls] or else they would'nt have scored 350.

Helped more by Anwar Alis bowling, thats where Bilal got half of his runs from in one over.

Horrid performance by Punjab.
Just a hint of movement and some effort by bowling quicker and Punjab have folded. Zia ul Haq is bowling amazingly well. In my 18 years of watching matches Shoaib Malik played in, never recount where he has ever carried the bat. Always been part of huge collapses for the batting side on total score of 70s, RSA [2007], Sri Lanka[2009], NZ[2018]. They depend little too much on Sahibzada Farhan.

Selection also is tainted for today's match. Sohail AKhtar and Samad were dropped and M. Imran retained for don't know what reason as he went for 66 runs in last match. Kashif Bhatti coming to bat at no.5 explains the situation. Ashfaq Ahmed also benched. Tuned in to watch for Sohail Akhtar and Asif Ali and got dissappointed. Pathetic captaincy and selection

Well played ASif Ali, teaching captain and veteran Shoaib Malik how to carry the bat and play with a positive mindset. Hope he completes a century expose the selectors and PCB who have destroyed many careers and games [for Pakistan] to retain this good for nothing Shoaib Malik.
 
Asif Ali completes 100 and hits six on the next. Awesome player, played innings of the tournament. Was dropped on 98 by Sadaf on his own bowling pretty easy catch

Asif Ali is out after a valiant knock of 121 off 90 balls. Saved face of the side by avoiding a collapse and made bulk of the team runs with support from no. 7 Imran. With him goes any chances of Punjab reaching total of 300.
 
I hope this wasn’t a fluke innings from Asif. We need stuff like this in ODIs.
 
Asif ali is a totally different player after psl 3.
He had the talent but was lacking confidence.. but after psl he has gained that confidence.
He should replace fahim in odi. Because fahim has done zero in odi..

Fahim is in the team only for his bowling now.

Fahim bats at 8 so he can't replace him but he can easily replace Malik and should bat at 6.
 
Sadaf Hussain's action looks similar to Philander's. This guy is only made for First class/Test cricket.

Sadaf has been carted away so far in this tournament. Won't do his chanced any good. Poor guy.
