FIFA or PES?

I'm a huge fan of the fifa games and it's one of the few games I always buy. Not bought the last couple because not really had the time to play but was thinking of getting the new one. A few people have recommended PES and I must admit I've never played it. What are the pros and cons of each and which one would you recommend?

Tried both demos- PES 18 gameplay is a lot more fluid compared to the stiffness of FIFA 18. FIFA 18 has the better graphics & commentary. PES commentary is stil awful.

I would buy PES but most of my friends & colleagues are stuck with FIFA.

PES 18 is nice because the movements aren't pre-determined or restricted.

It's free-flowing.

BUT, that's about it.

FIFA 18 provides a better package. The new Frostbite engine has given it a clear jump forward. When you combine that with its online features, FIFA is the clear winner.

And in_cutter mentions a good point about your friends. Most will buy FIFA and it kinda sucks if you're the odd one out.

FIFA has totally obiliterated PES for past 5 years or so

I think till 2010-11 or so I found PES better and it held its own in terms of popularity even if the awaami choice was FIFA

But FIFA went up a notch and now it is the popular choice on merit

pes was better on ps2 but fifa is way better on ps3/ps4 and x360/x one

If its gameplay you desire then PES 18 and if its all the gimmicky stuff that you are after then FIFA 18

Rocket League.

But between those two, it was PES till 2011 I suppose. Recently I've bought both but in Karachi PES online is unplayable and on FIFA I get 24 ms ping to the Dubai servers so that's what I'm going to get.
