They have helped Pakistan win their first away ODI series in a long long times that too in WI which is very tough place for batsmen. They were really ruthless and convincing in the series. Is this the sign of both senior players finally taking responsibility and taking Pakistan ODI success to next level and bring us back those glory days?

Hafeez has done very well in the last 2 years against both minnows and the top sides. He's the 2nd/3rd best batsman of ours in this period - only Babar and Sarfraz are ahead. Also, 2nd best allrounder in the world at the moment.

Malik hasn't been able to do much against half decent sides, not as well as my liking anyway against the top 4-5 sides. Big test for him in Champions Trophy.

Both aren't long term options.

"This is the same WI test side that made Indian fast bowlers look like next coming of Wasim and McGrath. It's the same WI bowling attack which made Ashwin batting look like as good as Kohli. "

What you said regarding Misbah scoring, but suddenly now it's a tough place to bat ?? Your bias is nauseating. However, I do see our ODI side improving.

I hope and wish that both of them retire or leave the team after Champions trophy. Both are not comfortable against pace and will find it difficult to score runs against top teams. These two will be replaced, sooner or later,by Ahsan,Talat,Saif and Farhan.

Urmmmm

This is probably the most inexperienced and least quality side I've seen from any test playing nation. Even Zimbabwe would give this side tough time. If Shehzad can score 70 runs you know the quality of this attack. Even Yasir smashed 30 runs. lol

Really? So Hafeez & Malik were batting on minefields?

If Misbah does it, opposition is weak, pitch is flat bla bla bla

someone else does it, oh hes bringing back the glory

Different formats though

Hard to tell about Mohammad Hafeez. But Shoaib Malik has been performing in the last two years in the decent strike rate. Pakistan could have lost to WI in limited formats; T20 and ODI. Test is different picture where people can take afford time to get settled and get going which has been strong suit for Misbah but even Misbah failed in the fast moving game. Glad Malik has been anchor in most of game that required 250 above in chase and helped mentor most youngsters in limited formats. It was not long ago that Pakistan could not be trusted to chase even 200 with the likes of Younus, Hafeez, Misbah, Azhar in ODI format. Pakistan team has changed a lot in the short span of time. :)

While test series is something we've not done before (or a very long time), Misbah actually won his last ODI series in WI 3-1 lol. So it's not exactly breaking new ground, but perfect time to praise in the middle of a test series :D.

Don't clump Malik and Hafeez together. Malik wipes the floor with Hafeez.
