Congratulations to Pakistan btw. First proper performance by their team in the CT.

Wasn't this a poor pitch?

What happened to the USED pitch?

Eased out? That too in the second innings?

The team that bats at 6 rpo, batted at 4.

The team that bats at 4 rpo, batting at 6.

English, and their excuses. Lol

HAHAHA I love it when these English pundits cry. This is the icing on the cake after this excellent performance

but has back-tracked also

Thank you for your generosity !

Wasn't a minefield though as Pakistan are showing.

Fair play that he admitted it.

It is a used pitch and that has helped us but so what?

Nothing wrong but Vaughan has a point also I thought its fair to have Pakistan SF 1st as they only had a day gap

vaughan phir roh raha hain. im surprised Vaughan didnt tweet that all the Pakistani fans in the stadium should be asked if they support terrorism or not.

ECB are the organisers of this tournament. If it is a used pitch then England got the first use of it. Why are their bowlers not able to take advantage of this used pitch ? They are making Pakistani batsmen look like the best in the business, who was made to look so suspect even by the "weak" bowling attacks of their group B opponents.

And.. he then said;

What happened to the used pitch when Pakistan innings started then? Or is it just that the English bowling is so toothless that they can't even take wickets of this lineup on the same used pitch ? :srini

Should read the full thread before posting - this has been mentioned above.

I'm sure these cry-babies wouldn't have any problem with the pitch if England had walloped Pakistan rather than the other way round.

Both teams played on the same pitch. The English choked again in a global tournament.

tbf at least Vaughan has back tracked. Bumble is being pathetically stubborn.

It is excellent bowling backed with some inspired fielding and also some sloppy fielding too.
Fakhar and Azhar took the game away from England. This did what happens while defending a low score if openers play sensibly and put a 100 runs stand then it's game over.

Can't see any demons in the pitch. Pakistan bowled exceptionally well and England choked. Also i hate this modern trend of blaming the pitch if it helps the bowlers even a tiny bit. Why should we have featherbeds for every match? Professional cricketers shouldn't hope to get the same pitch every time they bat and should be able to adapt to different conditions. Also don't agree with the usual the 'fans want 4s and 6s' argument. Fans want close matches with good quality cricket not one sided runfests.

Michael Atherton: Whether its a used pitch or not, its immaterial. Go and adapt to it.

Ah, a glass of whine.

To be fair, Vaughan seems to be downplaying the pitch as an excuse in his Telegraph article.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/cricket/...-enough-against-pakistan-reverted-stereotype/

Yes some will blame the pitch but when a team is hammered by eight wickets the pitch becomes a weak excuse.

But you must also give Pakistan a huge amount of credit. The seamers bowled three lengths. When they bowled short it was at head height so playing the pull shot was risky. They also bowled into the wicket on a good length skidding it on to middle and off stump which makes the ball hard for a batsman to manoeuvre. They want you to play across the line bringing bowled and LBW into the equation. They also bowled reverse swing on a length between full and short, and mixed it up with terrific slower balls.

Pakistan also bowled down a channel just around off stump nipping it back to the left and right handed batsmen. Hasan also took the odd away from the left handers as Eoin Morgan found out to his cost.

Has the fixtures been reversed and eng lost after just a days rest. The excuse from morgan would have been we couldn't rest Pakistan had 3 extra days to rest and prepare. Cowardly excuses

Check this guys twitter out... he's saying #IndiaToWin and India is going to win the trophy!! What the heel is wrong with this guy?

Pak played better cricket but Vaughn has a point here. U can't compare pak's innings with the innings of England. Pak knew the target and played accordingly.

England played well initially but lost wickets when they tried to over attack. They tried to post a score around 350 on a wicket where 300 would've been enough. They wouldn't have done it if they were in pak's position and batted second.

It was a poor odi pitch. I can understand where Vaughn is comming from.

Bloody *****'s! They complain that Asian players cant play on green tops and hence are FTB's and what not, and look at this idiot! He is crying even when the match was played in their home!

Normally English fans usually resort to sarcasm and leave it at that. First time i see lot of English fans are genuinely disappointed at their exit. They were ecstatic when they saw 3 subcontinent teams in the semi finals. It was not just a loss. But sound thrashing after they dominated teams like NZ/Australia.

That's the most hilarious part, we are use to english cricketers whining about pitches when they tour asia, they almost always refuse to give credit to the opposition and even when they do praise a little, they add caveats like "in these conditions" at the end. Now these whiners are complaining about pitches in their own country, I guess this english team isn't good enough "in these conditions" :yk

Grapes are sour! I remember the english tour of 2011-12, Naseer hussain was pretty bitter and commanding Brit Indians to support England and not India! They are such losers :)

I find it quite ironic that Morgan brought up the lack of "home advantage" just after being beaten by a side that hasn't had a "home" for the last 8 years or so........
