Salam.

Yes I'm sure a lot of us are still not over the epic thrashing of a life time we handed to India, however, with 4 months of no cricket there is a lot of time to do some light soul searching, add a few pounds, maybe pickup a new hobby for our players, HOWEVER:

Amidst this relaxation period lets not forget how worried we were pre tournament, be it about how weak of an opener we thought Azhar was or how Junaid's trundling would be dispatched. Or How Hafeez would go blessed to cursed in all facets of the game.

The thing is the weak links in the team have performed in the crunch moments - so the question remains

Do we give them an extended run risking losing momentum if they go back to their failing ways

OR

Replace them ASAP before our honeymoon phase fades away? And who would you replace?

Should we take it as don't fix what's not broken?

Fixing team doesnt mean changing heads. It can be improvement in their game like Fakhar can learn playing bouncer. Amir can fine-tune his swing. Ruman can be more accurate. Malik can learn to stay on wicket.

Let them enjoy it for now.
2 months before SL restart.
Coaching staff, selectors and captain should start sooner with planning discussions

Don't repeat the mistakes of 2009. Everyone was talking about a new era but in the following year we went through multiple captains and the team was a shambles.

The celebrations are awesome, but I fear we're starting to go overboard as if all our problems have gone away.

Time to lay the groundwork for sustained success not rest on our laurels.

Enjoy the victory, it is rare, remember one thing after winning the 92 world cup, golden generation never won anything for the next 17 years. No team is invincible, there is lot of time discuss weaknesses, but victories in icc events are rare. Older generations went through the pain of 79,83,87 semi final defeats until they tasted 92 world cup glory. People like us whose first world cup was 92, felt its very easy but didnt know another icc win will come in 2009 and 2017. May be the next ICC win might come after 2025 who knows. Enjoy it, do not be over critical. This team has given you Test Mace 2016 as well. Covering all weaknesses does not guarantee ICC glory, ask South Africa or Kiwiz who have not won any icc event since 1998/2000. Ask Holland, they played in 3 world cup fifa finals and lost all 3 by very narrow margin. Pak is blessed that they produce world cups in major trophies in hockey and cricket. Do not be greedy.
