Former doctor jailed for six years for sexually assaulting patients in Wigan

Vijay Gaikwad (20/10/1980) of St Catherines Gardens, Lowton was sentenced to six years at Bolton Crown Court for multiple counts of sexual assault.

The sentencing follows a thorough investigation by investigators in Wigan and the courageous testimonies of the victims.

Gaikwad, a former medical practitioner, was found guilty of sexually assaulting three patients under his care.

The offences occurred during medical appointments where he exploited his position of trust to inappropriately touch the victims.

Detective Constable Lucy Page said: “Firstly, I would like to extend my gratitude to the victims who supported the investigation who bravely came forward to report the incidents, despite the significant emotional distress they experienced.

"Gaikwad abused his position of trust in the most egregious manner, and today's outcome reflects the seriousness of his actions. This sentencing will provide some sense of justice for the victims.

“Time is no barrier when it comes to being sexually abused – no matter how long ago it was, or how old you were at the time, we will listen to you. We will support you, investigate, and act robustly against perpetrators. We will take your allegations seriously and treat you with dignity and respect.”

Just yesterday a London to Glasgow flight was grounded after an Islamist threaten to bomb onboard and cursing Trump for his Scotland visit. The guy was obviously pinned down by pessangers and arrested by police later and met office treating it as "yet another" terrorist attack.

So if we start opening threads of every nuisance done by usual suspects -

SAN JOSE, Calif. - A doctor who practices in San Jose already facing allegations that he sexually abused two girls has now also been charged with sexually assaulting a former employee, authorities said on Thursday.

The most recent charge came earlier in June, when prosecutors charged Naeem Ul Islam Hashmi, 61, of Palo Alto, with one felony count of sexual penetration by force. That 2016 assault was reported by a woman in her 40s who once worked for Hashmi at his office, Crescent Medical Center in San Jose, according to Palo Alto police.

Hashmi was first arrested last winter after a young woman, now in her 20s, accused him of sexually assaulting her on multiple occasions when she was 12 and 13 in 2007, Palo Alto police said. A friend of the woman also said Hashmi had molested her as a minor.

In December 2021, the DA charged Hashmi with four felony counts of lewd acts on a child under 14, and a Santa Clara County Superior Court judge signed a warrant for his arrest.

The Mercury News reported that he has been out of custody since his arrest.

Hashmi’s attorney, Raphael Goldman, told the Mercury News that his client said he didn't do it.

"Dr. Hashmi continues to assert his innocence of all charges and looks forward to clearing his name in court," Goldman said in a statement to the newspaper. "Beyond that, we have no further comment at this time."

His criminal case for all five charges is currently in progress in Santa Clara County Superior Court.
